haha although when the female immortal showed up in episode 1 bragging about killing the nine headed snake I was like nooooo he's a good guy! Lost you forever makes me defend him.
I really really tried with this. I love LYX so so much but this was just too much even for me.
The absolute malpractice the FL was getting away with in the first couple of episodes just killed it for me. It is beyond insane to give a child HIV drugs without monitoring, testing, following up with a long term plan or dosing correctly based on his weight or age! - I get they were trying to establish a character who has a big heart but doesn't play by the rules, but I can tell the screenwriter doesn't even care to do research into basic medical ethics or procedures. Like just throwing a couple of boxes to create resistance or drilling holes in people's head oh my god.
She's an assassin so with the element of surprise, I believe she would win. But a head on fight... That remains…
yeah that's how i see it. She is good at sneaking in, killing the target, defending herself from guards if they get alerted and escaping. She knows how to wear face masks, seduce, the political situation, dance etc. High EQ and scheming.
He has been with a pack of guys training in actual head on fights daily. He always has a sword in his hand - a lot of times she doesn't but that doesn't mean she isn't deadly and armed.
It's a different skill set and doesn't make her any less badass - plus all the old injuries she has.
only on ep 5 but OMG Alen Fang as Yu Shi San - I love him love him so much. I've watched him in many roles over the years, but this is his best one - he is killing it and stealing the show.
Wei Zhe Ming is in a roll. Five dramas in just a couple of months 😱😱😱
It cracks me up that it's like feast or famine with favorite actors. We have to wait years sometimes between show releases and then they dump them seemingly or literally at the same time.
But yeah great year for Wei Zhe Ming Fans :) He is so cute and wonderful to watch on screen.
Is this drama good? the FL is annoying? they have a healthy relationship?
FL is not annoying at all, it's 36 episodes so it's a very slow progress and they haven't been doing anything super stupid yet (except communication issues which is normal in a cdrama)
poster tells me this is a typical modern cdrama romance where mains get 10% runtime and rest is dedicated to plethora…
Never be afraid to skip or fast forward! It's saved me from so much padding.
I have a rule where if the main couple isn't on screen together - it's automatically a 1.5x speed. And when the side plots / side couples are boring +10 sec SKIP SKIP SKIP
I love this main couple and they have good chemistry, so I won't hold the bloat against the show.
I wish this show was 40 episodes I’m so in love with it - every day it’s been such a treat to watch.the vibe and her character is the best - smart, but unlucky. She is not a saint, but is trying to survive in a nest of vipers while attempting to be kind and protect those she loves. whatever ending I hope she gets to chill out in the garden eating walnuts. sounds wonderful

Ah, a shame. He looked so good in a white coat.
I want to eat all the snacks and all his tasty meals.

XSY was so fun in Mysterious Lotus Casebook, he really has charisma and I'm super happy to see him in this.
Ohhh he is divine.
Really made for this character and I love his eyes especially the little mole 😍
Westerners would call them "bedroom" or hooded eyes, but I'm not sure what the chinese categories are
*Fangirl Screaming*
Much much better, just being able to point to which side who is on made everything click. I'm so invested already!
Thank god there is a character chart - I was about to resign myself to confusion.
Drama is so good, I hope the fluffy kitten has lots of screen time.
But yeah great year for Wei Zhe Ming Fans :) He is so cute and wonderful to watch on screen.
Just feels like they put the script through a blender or something - editing is way off.
I somewhat enjoyed it (love Wang You Shuo), but I watched half of it at 2x speed haha.
Also important - it's 27 episodes! The special episode is actually a full episode with an ending.

I've been avoiding reading comments since I don't want to be spoiled - I'm so wrapped up emotionally with how this is going to play out.
Unless they totally bomb the ending (like she winds up with the ex husband ugh) this is tied with TTEOTM for my favorite drama of the year.
Love me some redemptive villains - so much better than the dumb childish FLs that we have had too much of this year.
