All this time, I thought Hae Ra actually loved Seok Jin. She doesn't- she just wants a trophy husband who will make her shine brighter🤦‍♂️. Seok Jin needs to learn the truth about his Dad so he can develop a backbone.

Yeong Hun had ulterior motives in transferring Seok Jin's Mom's treatment to his friend's hospital- he wants to spy on her so he knows if her memories will come back.

Mi Ran's plan is to get Hae Ra to play mediator between her parents so she can take over the company? It's a weak plan but there is no other course of action, I suppose.
Yeong Hun is laying it on thick with Mi Ran, asking her if she never coveted his wife's position. He would say and do anything to sleep with her- she would be a fool to believe he would actually leave his wife. Proof of this is the way Yeong Hun looked at his wife when she went to visit him- he was really happy to see her and looked at her adoringly. Divorcing her and marrying Mi Ran would make him lose face in the business world- he is already not respected because of his background. Plus, divorcing the largest shareholder in the company is very unwise. I doubt Jeong Seon will give her shares to Hae Ra so easily. She would sooner give them to Eun Seol.
Chairman Kim was right- Yeong Hun has shackles on his feet and his fall will be far worse. Mi Ran will start blackmailing him as soon as she realises that he won't marry her.

Good to see Eun Seol did not fully buy into Secretary Choi's reason for seeing the director. In the preview, she said Secretary Choi is on Yeong Hun's side- this information is only relevant if she knows that Yeong Hun is against the scholarship programme. Will Eun Seol (and Jeong Seon) find a way to tip things in their favour? I hope so.

Keeping Mi Ran's ex in the motel is unwise. Now that Eun Seol is suspicious of Secretary Choi, it will just be a matter of time before she (and/or Hyeon Jae) follows him and finds Mi Ran's ex. Hopefully, by this time, Eun Seol will know that Mi Ran is definitely not her bio-Mom.

How did the ex learn that Mi Ran gave birth to a daughter? Who would she have told after abandoning the child?

I hope Jeong Seon is starting to be suspicious of Mi Ran- she gave her a strange look. Why didn't she question Yeong Hun about the dinner?

After watching the preview of Mi Ran telling him that no one calculates gains and losses more clearly than he does, it is highly unlikely that he will dump Hae Ra. He has come too far with his goals to abandon ship now.

Why did Eun Seol have that weird look while discussing Seok Jin's perfectionist ways with his Mom?

Mi Ran was already married in 1988 and that must be when Yeong Hun and Jeong Seon got married because they were on the cover of the magazine that Mi Ran saw.
I don't remember the year Jeong Seon was adopted- will need to check. That will give us a better idea of their ages.

If he does not dump her over this, his ambition is greater than his pride. Because he still needs to learn about his Dad so I don't think the writers will break them up just yet.

I saw they zoomed in on Hyeon Jae's laptop- this might mean that the laptop might be broken into at some point or stolen. Thankfully, he seems to keep it locked.

Glad to see Hyeon Jae doing something other than hanging out with Eun Seol. He will have to get Mi Ran's DNA eventually, to confirm. He better be careful or he wll be Mi Ran's next victim. That would suck for his sister and nephew.

Mi Ran actually thinks Yeong Hun will leave his wife for her? He will likely just want to keep her as a mistress. And Mi Ran said they will be a perfect family- Hae Ra will not be on board with that- she won't abandon her Mom and will likely turn her back on Mi Ran for destroying her family. I don't think such outcomes have even crossed Mi Ran's mind- she seems to have a low EQ.

I guess Jeong Seon might lose the board vote for the scholarship program. But maybe this
needs to happen so Eun Seol can become
suspicious of Secretary Choi.

She looked gorgeous. I love how she is not a pushover. She fights for what she believes in. She now wants to take on some of Cheongma's work- I guess she needs to learn the ropes because when this is over, she will likely have to take over the Group- there is no one else.

If Seok Jin was wise, he would stop trying to prove himself, dump Hae Ra and be with the girl he likes more and whom his mother actually likes. This way, no one is trying to ship his mother off somewhere and he and his mother will both be happy. But this route is far too easy and it will mean that he may not find out the truth about his Dad.

ohhh- that is major. I hope she won't confront him about it- he will just lie to her. She needs to be strategic.

I also hope that Team Eun Seol can figure out that Mi Ran killed Eun Seol's Mom within the next two weeks so that the revenge can at least resume by episode 50.

Seok Jin could potentially dump Hae Ra in the next few days, freeing him up for Eun Seol 😵‍💫.

And where was Secretary Choi going when Eun Seol spotted him? I hope she becomes suspicious of him. Also, will Seok Jin eavesdrop on Hae Ra talking about his mother? Will this lead him to dump her and get together with Eun Seol? If he does, it might only last until he finds out about Yeong Hun- he will need to get close to Yeong Hun to take him down and the only way is through Hae Ra. I also don't see him leaving Hae Ra's side, permanently, just yet. What will Hae Ra be doing?

I think she might have tried to kiss Hyeon Jae or something because they did not show how he got her into her house or how he got what I assume to be lipstick, on his shirt. They are likely saving that for an embarrassing flashback. She made it home on her own and she suddenly needed help taking the last few steps into the house?- Definitely a set up for a romantic/awkward moment.

😂😂 well anything is possible in these daily kdrama streets. And if it does turn out that he is Yeong Hun's son, and the truth about the baby switch comes out, then Eun Seol would be his real sister whom he would have been working and plotting against- that realisation would be gut-wrenching for him. It is also interesting that Yeong Hun told Mi Ran that he would take him out for a meal to thank him. Yeong Hun does not strike me as the type to just go out with secretaries so the writers are intentionally putting them in the same room to talk. I think we will get a lot of revelations from Secretary Choi after that.

But it's probably more likely that he was orphaned by Cheongma and is out for revenge. Is there a particular reason why Mi Ran invested in his education or is it just sheer coincidence that the person she invested in ended up being her new secretary? Maybe he is just one of many whom she invested in.

And a very nearly impossible theory- Secretary Choi is Mi Ran's son whom she had a few years before having Hae Ra and she left him at an orphanage. So she does not know that he is her son😂😂😂.

I am curious as to how Mi Ran ended up pregnant in 1999/2000. Didn’t she leave her husband after that lady advised her to in 1988? Did she stay with him another 11 years, while plotting her exit? Was the pregnancy planned or a coincidence?

Didn't Manager Na know that in writing a suicide note, there would have to be an actual suicide?🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. It seems he did not know about Mi Ran having a daughter.

Secretary Choi might be coming on too strong with Eun Seol and she will become suspicious.

Hae Ra's Dad is definitely Mi Ran's ex- they have the same mosquito allergy.

The new characters are necessary to drive the revenge plot forward- Eun Seol and Hyeon Jae are not even close to identifying the real culprit. The addition of Manager Na's daughter is interesting. How does she know about Eun Seol and where to find her? Did the news report identity Eun Seol?

Yeong Hun is slimy. He does not care if his daughter marries a womanizer as long as he has a good social standing. Does this mean that he had women problems too? Could
Secretary Choi be his long lost son? Is that why Secretary Choi does not allow Hae Ra to bully him? Because she is his 'sister'? Or were there other casualties in the accident that killed Seok Jin's Dad and Secretary Choi's Dad was killed, leaving him an orphan? Maybe he is out for revenge.

💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Well-said and you hit the nail on the head. Lan Xiang and Jin Qi are not an epic romance tale or star-crossed lovers. And if we are honest, they are not a fated couple, either.
I am so glad the writers captured this well- their marriage was highly controversial - forcing someone into a marriage because you like them while they don't like you, is not ok nor is it swoonworthy, no matter how rich or good looking you are. It is no different from a second male lead in a show being in love with the female lead and forcing her into a marriage because he does not want the male lead or anyone else to have her. That SML would be hung at the stake by viewers- so why should it be different if it is the male lead who does it? The fact that he did change later on does not mean that she should automatically fall in love with him, either. Nor should the fact that he did some things for her and tried to save her life mean that she should have to repay him by marrying him.

Her acceptance of him at the end of episode 38 meant that she would perform all her duties as a wife, including sleeping with him and providing him with heirs- one does not need to be in love to do that- just a willingness to fulfil one's duties. As they spent nearly 20 years together as a united couple, after that, she obviously grew fond of him and grew to love him, eventually, just like one would love a friend or relative who has featured almost daily in your life. You would obviously miss them when they are not around. So I strongly agree that she loved him but was not necessarily in love with him. Jin Qi seemed to know this too and he accepted it. This is one of the realities of arranged marriages. Could things have been different for them if they had married young and her family had not been killed off- probably, but it's hard to say because Lan Xiang was never into romance, even before the Shen family fell. So she would have performed her wifely duties, in the same manner.

When Jin Qi died, she was crying and heartbroken but she seemed to be at peace with it. She had fulfilled her duties as a wife and had done so very well. She had no regrets, and she told him as much. Nor did she need or desire a do-over in another life. Lan Xiang was forced into this marriage and the life and responsibilities that came with it, and she made the most of it, without compromising her values or who she was.

I would prefer for Seok Jin to find out the secret first so that he can plot Yeong Hun's takedown from behind the shadows. He should make Mi Ran believe that he is loyal to the family so her guard will be down around him. And only when Mi Ran thinks she is finally reaching her goals, can she be blindsided by the secret, basically exposing Seok Jin's real agenda. But by then, Seok Jin should have made a lot of progress towards his goal.

I think Seok Jin will have to go a bit dark to pull this off. His rage at finding out how his Dad died and that the killer is living lavishly and even paid his school fees, will get him there. Worse still, the killer is trying really hard to prevent his marriage to Hae Ra. This has the potential to be a great arc for Seok Jin.

Hae Ra is a confusing character for me. I cannot fully hate her because she is a product of poor parenting. Things seldom work out well when there is a third party also trying to parent a child. Plus Jeong Seon kinda dropped the ball on her mothering duties, allowing Mi Ran to coddle Hae Ra. So Hae Ra is a bully and a mean girl but also struggles with the guilt of her actions, temporarily. We have also seen some of her vulnerabilities and seen her step out of her comfort zone for Seok Jin- like going to the kitchen with his Mom to help out. She is not ambitious, which is unlike other SFLs whose sole mission is to ruin the FL and take everything she has. She only want Seok Jin and Eun Seol was getting in the way of that. I want to see how dark she can become- that will happen when she learns the truth that she is not the heiress and Eun Seol is . What will she do to keep her crown and her parents? Will she eventually go to the dark side and side with Mi Ran?

I do believe that if she had been raised by Eun Seol's adoptive Mom, she would have turned out so differently and would have been a much better person.

I cannot wait for the smug look to be wiped off Yeong Hun's face. I am so ready for his downfall- it's just sad for Eun Seol because that is her bio-dad. But she can give him some pointers on how to survive jail 😂😂. They can form a relationship while he is behind bars.

Did Yeong Hun actually okay Mi Ran putting something in Jeong Seon's tea so she would have an allergic reaction and won't go for the meeting? Am also surprised that Yeong Hun will actually show his wife the information that he used to blackmail Chairman Kim. I also hope that since Chairman Kim is close to Jeong Seon, he will advise her to watch her back where Mi Ran is concerned. She needs to start opening her eyes.

Seok Jin is hating the cold shoulder that Eun Seol is giving him😂. He will get used to it- he should not be playing with her emotions. Am glad that he is a little curious about the lighter. He needs to start investigating when it was manufactured.

Who is this new young character that has been introduced? Could she be related to Manager Na? Why do I have a feeling that when she goes to Cheongma to look for Eun Seol, Secretary Choi will intercept her and they won't meet. At least it looks like Hyeon Jae has found some clue about Manager Na?
