Something to look forward to. Their chemistry is oozing off of the screen. Great casting. They look so natural.

EPISODE 18:
I am glad that Gyu Min investigated the scammers and that Mu Jin was able to handle that situation within minutes lol, but I would have preferred if the writers had brought Heung Sik into the situation, instead. He and Gyu Oh have a great relationship already and Gyu Oh looks up to him. But maybe this situation required someone who is not yet emotionally involved with Gyu Oh. Gyu Oh would have been so embarrassed to face Heung Sik again and I would have hated that for the two of them. Gyu Oh wanted to be a police officer yet he could not investigate this much? He might need to explore another career. His teenage sister figured it out within minutes. She should become a detective.

Speaking of Heung Sik- is like our regular superman- ordinary, hardworking citizen by day and a world-renowned photographer by night lol. His mother does not know who she is beating and scolding lol. I just love when Su Nam and Heung Sik appear on the screen- I smile immediately- I just cannot help it. They are such a breath of fresh air and bring me so much joy. They have the best parent-child chemistry.

So Gyu Rim is still rejecting Mu Jin? When she went to the restaurant a few weeks ago and insisted that he make her a meal that was not on the menu, what outcome was she hoping for? Was it not for him to come back to her? Gyu Rim does not make sense. And when she went to the restaurant, didn't she notice that her sister works there?
Hate to agree with Gyu Yeong but she is right- Gyu Rim is "the dumbest, most pathetic and clueless person". She didn't even recognize her own mother🤦🏾‍♀️. I would understand if her Mom left when she was really young but she was about 17. So does this mean that she would not recognize Gyu Oh with his glasses on? Su Nam, on the other hand, is extra sharp. She quickly figured out that the lady with the sunglasses is Gyu Rim's Mom.

Looks like Gyu Rim is ready to welcome her Mom back with open arms. She misses her Mom terribly yet Mu Jin did not hesitate to abandon his own Mother for Gyu Rim. These are potential sources of conflict for the couple. Another potential conflict is when Gyu Rim finds out that Mu Jin knew about Gyu Oh and didn't tell her. I wouldn't blame her- it concerns her family.
Mu Jin is so desperate for them to get back together that he is not really concerned about her emotional and mental health. He has not spoken to her about being abandoned by her mother nor has he asked how she is dealing with the grief of losing their child. She has deep emotional wounds which need to heal before she can fully commit to a romantic relationship.

What will Yun Hui do now that she has been spotted sneaking around? She still doesn’t know about Gyeol and she might not be happy that Gyu Rim chose to raise a child that is not biologically hers. If Mu Jin's mom relents and accepts Gyu Rim and Mu Jin’s relationship, she might do so thinking that Gyeol is Mu Jin's. But when she finds out that Gyeol is not blood related to Gyu Rim or Mu Jin- she will likely disapprove.

Nice that Gyu Seo interacting with Yun Hui but he might be doing it out of guilt. He wishes that he and his sister had never been born because their Mom and Dad’s affair led to Seok Jung and Yun Hui’s divorce. There is definitely something going on with him because he could not sleep the night after his Dad stood up to Gyu Yeong for him and his twin. I am glad that Heung Sik will be working with him at the company- at least I hope he will- that is why Heung Sik took the job offer. Heung Sik can protect him from some of the ills in the modelling world and he might be someone Gyu Seo can confide in. The twins should stop apologizing for their existence.

Well done to Hun Tae for telling off his daughter and saying that Mu Jin dodged a bullet😂.

Well done to Hui Na for getting her man and for getting Gyu Seo's number, and to Su Nam for preventing Gyu Oh from calling Hui Na’s parents. I love how supportive Su Nam is of Hui Na and I laughed when she told Heung Sik to stay out if it in case he injures somebody else. And well done to Heung Sik again for making sure that Seok Jung knew about the lottery ticket and guaranteed that the Han family would not be kicked out.

I can’t believe Gyu Yeong actually did those bunny hops lol.

EPISODE 17:
Gyu Rim, Mu Jin and Gyeol's family vacation was such a snooze fest- even the actor playing Mu Jin looked bored lol. They should have just removed those parts. Mu Jin is now forcing his love onto Gyu Rim- it was cute when they were young and in their 20s but it's not cute now. No means no.

He bought a house and hung onto it for 8 years in the hopes that Gyu Rim would come back to him. That is downright pitiful. And he asks questions like, "is my heart not enough?" He is begging for love😂😂😂. This is too sad to be comical. And to top it all off- he tells her to only listen to him🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Not a good sign for any relationship. Especially because he has not told her that he knows her Mom and he is friends with her stepsister, whom he also briefly dated. He is not arming her with the information she needs. It is not enough to tell her that she will face some obstacles but she should only listen to him🤦‍♀️.

The highlights of the episode were the other siblings. They can fight but love each other dearly- except for Gyu Yeong, of course. Gyu Seo tended to Gyu Oh's, basically self-inflicted, wounds and Gyu Oh took Gyu Yeong out for hangover soup. The twins even cleaned up Gyu Yeong's vomit. The MVP, though, was the Dad- the way he stood up for the twins and told Gyu Yeong to stop bullying his kids. And when he hugged Gyeol- sweetness. He even told Gyeol that he does not like people who make his kids cry. That meeting with Yun Hui seems to have really shaken him. He is slowly starting to change- the changes are so subtle that I don't think he will notice. For him, his journey is about maturing. But he regressed in ep18 with wanting a house or shop from Hun Tae- baby steps lol.

I honestly cannot help but like Seok Jung. Deadbeat and shameless Dad that he is, I like that he owns his mistakes- except for the twins' Mom- he does not regret having the twins with her, which is commendable. Yes, the family dislikes him but they love him. If he were no longer around, they would miss him terribly. He is just that family member. He is also the parent that stuck around- sure- he might only be staying because he cannot afford to go anywhere else but I think he would have still found his way back home. He does love all of them and the fact that they all talk to him however they want, shows that they are not afraid to speak their mind to him and there are no consequences for whatever they say- he will take it and move on. The hug he gave Gyeong when he got back was everything. Even though he does not like that they do not share blood, he loves him. And Gyeol knows that too.

I wish we had got to see him when he was younger and doing well financially. We would also get to see why Yun Hui fell in love with him. That would also mean we would get to see how he ended up cheating on her, and kicking her out. Had I seen that, I might have been less inclined to like him. But we are only seeing the aftermath of his terrible decisions, and he is suffering for them so I cannot hate him. I just want to see him mature and become the father all his kids are proud of. Before the kids ditch him for Hun Tae lol.

This is really annoying me- Yun Hui has three kids- why does everyone act like Gyu Rim is the most important of the three and the most wronged? Hun Tae said she owes an apology to them but especially, Gyu Rim. Why? All three were abandoned. Yun Hui even said she wished she had a son like Gyu Seo but she already has a son- Gyu Oh. She has never asked about him- it’s all about Gyu Rim. And in episode 18- Hun Tae tells Mu Jin’s Mom that Mu Jin is all Gyu Rim has- like what? Those two were only together for one year out of the 32 years of her life on Earth and Mu Jin is all she has? How about the twins? How about Gyu Oh? Su Nam? Heung Sik? If Hun Tae really felt bad he would have insisted that Yun Hui return to her kids- Seo Hyeong is an adult now.

Another MVP in this episode is Heung Sik for peeling garlic and covering for Gyu Rim and for pointing out to Su Nam that Gyu Rim was not brought into this world to be bullied by a witch like her😂😂. He also told her that he does not want to become successful because she will get a big head😂😂😂. He is so right. Best to keep Joel under wraps.

Poor Yu Jin- shot down by Heung Sik so quickly 😂😂. He is so perfect for her😂😂. I really thought Heung Sik was going to say that Yu Jin's Mom looks like Mu Jin 😂.

The actor playing Gyeol seems taller now. Kids grow up so quickly.

EPISODE 16:
Yun Hui is so wrong to think shipping off her kids is going to solve her problems with Seo Hyeon. She even called her ex, "honey", while begging him to leave Seoul. She has a lot of growing up to do but I applaud her for telling Seo Hyeon the truth.

I was worried that Ok Seon and Hunt Tae might sleep together when they were drinking at the bar lol. Why was it important to mention that she hit on him 36 years ago? She said 40 and he said 36 to be exact. Was it to show that he remembered or there is some birth secret yet to be revealed? Likely the former.

EPISODE 15:
I was annoyed with Gyu Rim for taking out her frustration on Gyu Oh and slapping him. She expects people to just accept what she did, without any explanation. Does she really think that they would not understand that she lost a child and the circumstances under which she came to raise Gyeol? She should use her words and not act out.

I am glad that she at least told Mu Jin the truth about the baby and the writers got through Mu Jin's grief rather quickly-literally just a few minutes and a few tears lol. It is to be expected because he was not there for the pregnancy, or the birth or the death or the burial so he had not real connection to the child- I am hoping the child was a girl- the writers have been really evasive about the gender of the child. I wish we could have had Mu Jin getting mad at her and asking if why she didn’t tell him about the pregnancy when she find out and if she had really planned to raise the child on her own. That would have been some good conflict for them.

Gyu Rim is just not good enough for him- to the extent that he is still in love with her after 9 years- Gyeol was right- it's lame lol. It has nothing to do with being poor but her character. She is lacking in a lot of ways and lacks any kind of drive. What's worse it that she is stubborn and expects people to accept her decisions, with no questions asked. It says a lot the Gyu Min could not even question her about the ultrasound or ask what happened to the baby she gave birth to. Gyu Min was more comfortable talking to Mu Jin about it, and even crossing the line with some of the questions she was asking him. Gyu Rim’s siblings feel they cannot confide in her anymore- it's why no one has told her about Gyu Oh. She is no longer the protector of the family, now they are trying to protect her and this will hurt her so much in the future.

Did I detect a hint of chemistry between Heung Sik and Mu Jin's sister during their first introduction? A lot of potential there- a silent explosion of emotions.

Heung Sik’s strut/walk has changed since the Joel reveal. He has become really cool. I love this man lol.

Finally caught up with the last 4 episodes - so this will be long. Am so glad we are done with the tears and sombre music between Gyu Rim and Mu Jin but I think I might have to start fast-forwarding through most of their scenes together. They have lost their spark for me and I would have preferred to see them get closure for their relationship and the loss of their child and move on to other people. The two characters are better, on screen, when they are with other people- but together are quite boring and one-dimensional. I really struggled to watch them when they were on their impromptu family vacation and worse, in episode 18, when they were outside the house and Mu Jin was yet again insisting that they get back together. The dialogue was forced and was not natural. Whatever chemistry they had, is gone for me. Thank goodness for the supporting cast – this is something the writers did incredibly well- giving the supporting cast way better storylines.

Definitely- a little too close. That looks like a date. I love it lol. And this is from their current show? Not the previous one?

I don't think they would have consummated before she explained to him how their ways are different, and without them being on the same path. Yes, she accepted him as her husband but their paths were not yet aligned. Alignment is a dealbreaker for someone like Lan Xiang. The play might have been over a month after the Shen grave scene because not long after the play, Jin Lan 's baby was born. Then nine months after that, Lan Xiang left and two years later, he realised that Lan Xiang was right about the path he was on and he quit and joined her back in Jinling. So with their paths finally aligned, Lan Xiang was willing to consummate the relationship.

She seems to have got pregnant over a year after his return.

Just had a funny thought- Lan Xiang preferred to stay home in Jinling with the Lin elders who still disliked her at that point than to return to her husband in the Capital where she had so much freedom. She even smiled when she asked Jin Qi if she could go back in his stead😂😂. The trip was a 2-3 month round trip so she could have returned at any time. Fortunately, for Jin Qi, it took just two years for him to decide to quit and come back because I doubt Lan Xiang would have even entertained the idea of going back if it took many more years.

But to be fair, she was never comfortable in the Capital and she hated being there. There really was nothing for her there. So a few hateful in-laws was nothing to her and she could be close to her parents again, so a definite plus. She did say that she has thick skin.

I think the fact that she never had any residual feelings for Jin Qi when she became a Lin maid proves that she never had any feelings for him to begin with. Their parents arranged their marriage when they were younger and she went along with it out of
duty. She knew she could not escape the union. So when the Lin family broke off the engagement and had Jin Qi marry someone else, she grieved that, forgave and move on. So when she moved into the Lin manor, I don't even think she thought about what might have been. It was just a job to her. And when she met Jin Qi for the first time, there were no feelings there- just indifference. She
was never interested in becoming his wife again. Then he went and arranged
their current marriage, out of the blue. So while she has grown to love and respect
him, more out of gratitude, I
don't think she is in love with
him. But she will fulfill her
duties as his wife, to the best of her ability.

💯 This is spot-on. Theirs is not a hot passionate love. For her, it's an arranged marriage (which she never even knew was in the works), whereas for him, he got to marry that woman he really liked and admired. She was never attracted to him in the beginning- there were no secret glances towards him or yearning while she was a maid. He was her boss and she was very happy to keep it that way. But it was different for him. Things might have been different if she actually liked him back then but kept it to herself because she knew that their love would be impossible.

Even if she had married Scholar Han- I think the outcome might have been the same. She would have grown to love him, eventually. She is incredibly grateful to Jin Qi and has grown to love him as a person. But is she in love with him?- I cannot say for sure. A woman in love and smitten is rarely happy to leave her husband alone for 2+ years. Her gratitude and admiration of him have led her to finally accept that she is his wife and she has resolved to fulfil her obligations to him as his wife.
I honestly think that Lan Xiang might have been happier living as a nun and fighting for women's rights😂.
So what we have now is a mature kind of love. They skipped through all the lust-filled kind of love and landed here and I think this is as much as Lan Xiang can give to Jin Qi. Romance was never part of her plan for the future. Even when she was 14 and her bio-Mom was teasing her about writing a letter for Jin Qi. It turned out the letter was never for Jin Qi but a prayer for her parents. She has always been practical, principled and willing to fulfill her duties, as a daughter and a wife.

This shows just how mismatched Gyu Rim and Mu Jin are. He can easily cut ties with his family, she can't. He can easily skip work to wallow in self pity- she does not have that luxury. The writers are going for opposites attract but this is too much. They haven't even shown us any of his flashbacks for the last 8 years- what was he doing?

From a character perspective, Gyu Rim is just not good enough for Mu Jin- I would have to side with his Mom on this one. It has nothing to do with her family or socio-economic status but more about her intelligence and behaviour. If I were the one writing, I would have put Gyu Yeong and Mu Jin together- a morally grey female lead with a strong-willed and principled male lead like Mu Jin- an enemies to lovers story. I think it could be an explosive and dynamic story as Mu Jin starts off by hating Gyu Yeong but drawn to her, nonetheless, and he would work to get her to change her ways 😂.

You're right- I cannot hate FL's Dad lol. He can be annoying but you miss him when he's not there lol.

When I think of Heung Sik's aura, I am reminded of Chuck Bass- completely different characters but they both have an aura that you cannot forget. Nate was supposed to be the male lead with his good looks, but somehow he was forgettable and Chuck accidentally became the lead. Which is what might happen here- Mu Jin started off so well- he had a really good storyline- rich boy trying to find his way in the world. Then he fell in love within days of starting his job and now his life revolves around his love life. And his current storyline is about fixing Gyu Rim's family's problems. Like where is his story? Sadly, he will become a forgettable character, if the writers are not careful. Gyeol even agreed with him that it is lame that he has loved Gyu Rim for 9 years (and they were only together for 1 of those years 😂😂).

He has the best role in the show. Quite dynamic.

I also hope Yu Jin gets her own story- she has sworn to never have kids so it will be fun to watch her change her mind. After the writers get Mu Jin and Gyu Rim back together, they really should just focus on the other characters because they are far more interesting than that couple.

He is like Superman- plays the useless son at home, and the rich photographer when he is away from his Mom and the Han family😂. If only Su Nam knew exactly who she was hitting 😂😂😂😂. Now that I think about it, I would have loved watching Su Nam and Mu Jin's Mom fighting as in-laws 😂😂. Mu Jin's Mom is a fighter so she would have hit Su Nam right back, unlike Gyu Rim's Mom😂.

I agree with this. I know the writer is trying to bring Mu Jin and Gyu Rim closer but the plot does not make any sense. Gyu Oh and Heung Sik have such a great relationship already so it stands to reason that he should have been the one the twins went to for help. Heung Sik and his Mom have been in their lives for years so Heung Sik should have been the problem solver in the family. He would have handled it well- sure, Gyu Oh would have been embarrassed but it would have been handled. I also think it would be better for Heung Sik to keep this secret as opposed to Mu Jin, because Heung Sik is practically family. This will create conflict for Gyu Rim and Mu Jin because Mu Jin is keeping secrets from her about her own family.

Secondly- Gyeol- when he found out that Gyu Rim could not be his birth mother, he never contacted Heung Sik or Su Nam. That is incredibly strange because Gyeol was asking everyone. So he sought comfort from a stranger, instead? He should have gone to Heung Sik first for comfort and then after Heung Sik tried to cover for Gyu Rim, he could have run to Mu Jin. This was another plot that did not make sense but was used to bring Mu Jin and Gyu Rim closer again🤦🏾‍♀️. If the writers have to try this hard to get them together, should they be together?

💯Mu Jin's Mom and Gyu Rim's Dad look really hot together. They have more chemistry than everyone else and far more that Mu Jin and Gyu Rim.

When Heung Sik met with Yu Jin (Mu Jin's sister) for the first time, I thought they had some chemistry. Heung Sik would be perfect for her too- she needs someone to turn her perfect world upside down and I think he can do that. She was also annoyed with how dismissive and impatient he was with her. If they did not have a Heung Sik-Gyu Yeong romance brewing, I would definitely be onboard for a Heung Sik and Yu Jin romance.
