This is so true- they tried to make overnight changes to Jun Ho's character- it's not him. He would not pursue a woman who is not interested in him nor would he be ambitious for a company he never built. And then they had him say recently that he wants to make his parents proud. A forced marriage, a stolen company, and being at odds with his brother would not make them proud. We have scenes with him being logical and others where he is illogical- it does not make sense. But like you said- they are trying very hard to drive the whole blood narrative (and to fool Hwa Yeong into believing that her son is ambitious just like she is, I suppose) - but if that was their goal- they should have hinted at things from the beginning. And if he was ambitious for Dream Group, he would have just pretended to fall in love with Seo Rin instead of rejecting her at every turn.
So I guess the writers are saying the ambitious gene was dormant until the right conditions were met- i.e. meeting his birth mother 😂.

Hopefully, this arc does not last too long and we can get back to Hwa Yeong against the world. But things may get worse before they get better for him. Will his desire to marry Jang Mi be greater than helping her with her quest for justice? But thankfully, they made this change to his character in the last third of the show so I doubt it will last long. And they might still try to put him together with Seo Rin.

This is why I have just never warmed up to Baek Ho- he has been obsessed with Jang Mi ever since he realised he was starting to have feelings for her. If he was not on the phone with her, he was showing up at the store. He even listened in on private family discussions. Like give the girl room to breathe.
Even when she rejected him the first time, he demanded an explanation from her, like he was a gangster or something😂. He said, "follow me," and they went to his car so she could explain herself😂😂. He would drag her out on 'dates' and she would just follow. She had no agency and unfortunately, this has continued into her revenge journey. She can't seem to think for herself and most of the time, he is telling her what to do. And then there's the frequent PDA in the office, and he keeps calling her, "Jang Mi",- this has prevented her from fully transforming into Seo Rin. Even Ahjumma warned her once that Seo Rin needs to return because Hwa Yeong was suspicious.

But for some reason, the writer thinks having such a boyfriend is swoon worthy romance. Maybe this is what her ideal man should be like🤷🏾‍♀️.

This would be the best way- honesty. And he can watch things unfold. But this way is not complicated enough for the writer😪. Something will definitely prevent her from delivering those DNA results to her Grandpa. Maybe Hwa Yeong will do something extreme that will make her actually want to use Jun Ho against her.

The loss needed to happen to give Jang Mi a little jolt so she can take this seriously.

So now, instead of telling her Grandfather about her and Seo Rin, she is going to tell him about Jun Ho and Hwa Yeong? Is she going to say that she and Jun Ho are siblings? 😂.

What would be wild is if she took Baek Ho's DNA by mistake, instead of Jun Ho's, and it came back positive 😂😂😂.

Yeah- hopefully she is telling him as part of a strategic move to use him against Hwa Yeong and not just telling him to assuage Baek Ho's growing jealousy. But this is Jang Mi we are talking about- it's definitely for the latter reason🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️. Anything else, is asking too much of her.

I wonder what Tae Pyung will do in response to the kidnapping. It's kinda his fault that Seo Rin was found. He had even told Jang Mi that it's dangerous for Suk Hee to go to the hospital because Hwa Youngs's men were watching them. So why did he proceed to go to the hospital the very next day? 😂😂😂😂

Yay!!! Hwa Yeong needed that win- I feel like she has been on a losing streak. If she didn't need Seo Rin's face, she would have just hired a plastic surgeon to change her appearance. The scars on Seo Rin's face are a problem, though. Maybe she can brainwash Seo Rin, instead.

Will Jang Mi tell Jun Ho the truth in the hopes that he will help her to find Seo Rin? How much will she tell him? Will he believe her?
He might still pursue Jang Mi, especially since the Chairman has approved their marriage. I remember there's a preview from last Friday where he tells Hong Ju that he will support her relationship with Baek Ho. Unless they opted to delete that scene, it will still come up. But at least this way, he will be pursuing her openly, with everyone knowing where they stand.

I don't think the romance will be going anywhere. It seems to be the premise of the show. It's primarily about romance and revenge is secondary. Besides Nam Bong with two women, there are no other couples in the show. So Jang Mi and Baek Ho are getting all the romantic scenes.

Yeah- the First Man had so much potential, which is why it's so disappointing how things have turned out. It could have been so much better than Cinderella Game. Maybe if it were under KBS1, the writers might have changed things?
The last time I was this disappointed was with Woman in a Veil- the supposed FL woke up from her coma and made things worse, and before she had any real opportunity for character growth, she was killed off. But I think the actress wanted to leave the show so they had no choice but to kill her off. She had great chemistry with the other FL's brother and I was hoping that they would get together but they put him together with his ex-sister-in-law 😂🤦🏾‍♀️.

But in First Man, I would not mind if Seo Rin wakes up and messes things up for Team Jang Mi. That would liven things up a bit and add some spice. But I doubt it will happen- the writers have been really tame in this one. No bold moves have been made, except what it typical for a villain.

I was looking at the ratings and it has not been able to reach the 6% mark. It varies between 4- 5.9%. The previous two shows made it past 6%.

Our Happy Days has already made it to 10% and it's only 12 episodes in.

I hope Chloe does end up with Hyun Jun- it would be a nice change. She falls for him, unexpectedly, and has to prove to him that she really does love him.

Tae Pyung has come a long way since his days of wearing flashy clothes, squeaky singing and eating raw eggs for his voice. He has become really cool 😂😂. He has traded in his guitar for his motorcycle and helmet 😂😂. I guess it would be weird for Hong Ju to fall for him since her Mom likes him😂😂😂.

I searched on Google earlier and apparently, the show is also known as 'First Love' 😂😂😂. I think this title definitely explains a lot and makes more sense- the show is more about first love than revenge.
I think the twins' bio-dad was Suk Hee's first love too.

Indeed, he is a victim. But maybe not knowing anything is his saving grace. It would have sucked if he knew that Jang Mi was impersonating Seo Rin and he continued to pursue her despite knowing that she and Baek Ho are in love.
Also, not knowing anything means that he cannot be an active co-conspirator with Hwa Yeong.......for now.
This is why I had hoped that Jang Mi had thought of the marriage thing earlier and actually married him or had a close relationship with him. She is in the perfect position to slowly reveal Hwa Yeong's deep dark secrets to him. And because he does not know that she knows that she is not Hwa Yeong's daughter, biologically, he would not suspect her of working against their 'mother'. She could have orchestrated things to find Hwa Yeong in compromising positions and have her scramble to explain herself. Jang Mi could have had some real fun with that- especially if they are all living together in the Ma household.

The writers have really gone out of their way to keep Jun Ho in the dark about things. Even Hong Ju, who cannot keep a secret, has kept it from him.
We don't have that many episodes left and once Seo Rin is added to the mix, a lot will change- so hopefully, Jun Ho won't have the time to cross any of Hwa Yeong's lines. There is still the Baek Ho's adoption reveal and what that will mean; Jun Ho's Dad reveal, the twin's bio-dad, the affair reveal, the corporate battle- so much to go through. So hopefully, a forced marriage is as bad as it gets.

To be fair, Jang Mi, Tae Pyung and Bok Gil blindly trusted Hwa Yeong, a complete stranger, and she played them for fools for months until truth came out and Bok Gil died🙈.
So what more, Jun Ho, the son she gave birth to? He should believe and trust her even more. It will take hard evidence to prove to him that Hwa Yeong is evil, and I think that,
eventually, he will see through all her lies. The pain of abandonment is hard enough. But the pain of realising that his bio-mom is selfishy ambitious, a murderer, a liar- to the point of even lying to his face- and that maybe she never really loved him, after all, is much worse. So having to believe and accept the truth will be hard.

This also sounds a lot like the real Seo Rin😂😂 - she pursued him relentlessly, never listened to him when he told her to leave him alone, kissed him without permission, told everyone she was going to marry him, watched him while he worked, and even started taking pottery classes. Who knows how far she would have gone with her pursuit if she had not been incapacitated 😂😂😂. The accident probably saved Jun Ho 😂. What would have happened if Jun Ho started having feelings for someone else- that woman would have been in major trouble 😂.

They both need some character growth to graduate from being red flags.

Maybe he is just rewarding him beforehand and the marriage is a bonus. If the shares are contingent upon the marriage, then Jun Ho will not back down. So I hope it's just a gift.
From the looks of tomorrow's preview, it looks like Jun Ho might back down after 'Seo Rin' rejects him in front of Baek Ho- or at the very least, he will adopt a less aggressive approach by getting Hong Ju to continue pursuing Baek Ho. She will now have more time on her hands since 'Jang Mi' has been found.

I guess the Chairman's approval of Jun Ho is important since Seo Rin likes Jun Ho- no clue if she will still like him after finding out that her mother is his birth mother.

Yeah- I think we just need to stop looking at Jang Mi's potential and focus on who she is now, no matter how disappointing.
Hwa Yeong said something mean about Jang Mi being exactly like her 'dimwit mother' but it's very true😂😂😂. Only 36 episodes to go💪🏾.
