Not gonna lie; I got bored in the middle of the series, but I think it was my fault as I do not prefer watching…
I finished this yesterday and would have written exactly the same. The middle part is draggy. The ending wasn't satisfactory either, especially the way the writers handled Lao Gao with the cancer-card. Some side characters behaved in a way I couldn't really understand like the SFL. I didn't get her devotion to the ML cause there wasn't a connection that deep between them. Some dialogues in this drama were irritating , especially the reconcilation of the main couple in the end. I liked the drama and the main couple but the issues between them could have been adressed better. The ML could have given the FL some insight in the way he behaved. But I think that's the point of his character who basically can't express his feelings with words. But overall ot was enjoyable. I really liked the portrayal of her parents. They reacted realistically. I didn't mind the open end. I also loved the work-crew in the second half.
The drama really knows comedy. I really laughed a lot... especially at the montage of the ML where he shows his various talents. I couldn't stop laughing when he danced. Lol I also loved the scene where the FL "handles" her ex. She's a great actress.
That's a reason why I prefer Forever Love to this so far. The female lead is capable too and has nobtime for bulls*t
I disagree about the acting. I think the leads were very natural and had equal chemistry. I agree that some characters acted childish but not necessarily dumb. Imo the antagonist in FL was less fleshed out though. His whole agenda was pettyand I guess a bit unrealistic. That's much better in L&P.
I'm currently watching this for the first time. I have arrived at the three year time skip after they get together. So far it's a nice drama and the leads act well and very natural. Their chemistry is really palpable. I also feel smpathetic for the second male lead. They run over him all the time without paying attention to his feelings and goals. His development is understandable. The actor is also very good. But I must also say that so far it's not much happening. I prefer the youth dramas Forever love and Our secret so far. But I guess Lighter and Princess will become more angsty as the episodes progress thinking back at the first episode.
I have to confess that although it's not the funniest drama airing right now that for me it's the one that captivates me the most and the one I can't wait to continue. I really enjoy Undercover Highschool abd My dearest nemesis too but this one has my heart the most. And they haven't even met yet.
The drama serves exactly what the title promised - a lot of comedy in a "fish out of water"-plot like many others before. I love the meta references of the SFL. I love the main couple. I could have lived without the whole bird-scene in episode one. The CGI was terrible and it was too over the top. I loved the sequene of ML trying to get to work.
In this drama it's necessary, the fl already has a crush on the ml because he reminds her of her first love from…
I know and it's okay. But it's funny that there are almost no romcom kdramas without this particular trope while it's not much used in western romcoms.
I liked the movie although the characters could have been more fleshed out. The setting screams for a longform drama. So I am eagerly awaiting the series. There's lots more potential in the story than shown here. Maybe Ji Chang Wook gets a chance to show more layers of his character. He's rarely speaking in the movie. But all in all it's a good action movie with great visuals and action scenes.
I really enjoy this. But I really could live without the childhood connection trope that rears its ugly head. I don't know why people can't meet as adults in these dramas. You can form a deep connection by meeting later in life. It' s not impossible. Lol
My least fave trope has to be the childhood connection which wasn't included. It's what I love about western dramas cause it almost never happens there. But western dramas have annoying tropes too.
I like the lead actors but am not sure that this kind of comedy will work for me. It' reminding me of Brewing love which I dropped but also Wok of love which I really liked in the end. So I guess I have to wait and see. But all the other kdramas airing that I watch so far have kept me hooked more. I guess if you enjoyed Brewing love or Business proposal you'll like this one too with it's slapstick comedy.
I really like how this is written. The story is slow but keeps me hooked. Epidode 5 was the best so far. It's not your average love story but I guess there's plenty of that airing at the moment if this story doesn't fit your taste. I guess the protagonists will meet when it ends what fits the story. Like in "Sleepless in Seattle" which I loved too.
Maybe no one will agree with me, but the second couple showed more intense and transitional acting in the story.…
I agree with you. IMO Lee Jun Young is a powerhouse when it comes to acting. He nails every role and yoz feel any emotion he trues to sell. SfL was great too. I like the main leads but they were the weakest part if the series for me. I loved Choi Woo Shik in the nkn romantic scenes more. He'a a great actor too.
