Perhaps it's not for you, but I would watch a couple more episodes before judging. The ML is faking a persona in the beginning. He will grow on you when you see his true self.

Just finished my second watch of it. I love both leads. The FL is very smart and so is the ML. Don't be put off by his fake persona in the first few episodes. He will grow on you a lot, trust me. I didn't feel any drag in the story, very well paced start to finish and the leads chemistry is off the charts

I didn't think there is a rule against mentioning other dramas as I see it all the time.

In any case, there is no need to be angry with me. I watched it all. I am just expressing my opinion like everyone else.

The leads fell in deep love incredibly fast for immortals. I get if they like each other or love each other after living in that cabin. But to die for it and suffer for 900 years because you can't forget! The FL tried to commit suicide because the ML pretended not to love her. That's insane and not believable. If she was sacrificing for him I could have understood but it was useless! There needed to be a bit more build up and shared experiences. They barely knew each other at the time. The mortal world love story was more believable as they shared life or death experiences over months.

Don't get me wrong, it's good watch but I wish the writers weren't this lazy. I don't know if the novel did a better job at this

Some of the logic problems:
-the heaven security is piss poor. Seriously everyone is coming and going to most restricted places like the treasury, even very weak characters! But when going to the treasury was important to save a character at one point it suddenly become a very difficult place and a crime you would die for to enter the treasury.
- Yandan saved an important area in heaven from destruction but didn't tell anyone to fix the crack and it took them years to discover it was cracked and fix it. It's supposed to be a temple where wishes become true and many people come to it.
- The heavenly emperor can be revived easily become of an imprint he made on the ML. Why not have all immortals leave such imprents and revive easily after death! I have seen similar plot device in xanixia before but it usually requires some sacrifice to revive them and decades of time. None of that here!
- the leads plot towards the end was awful. At one point the FL goes back to fight the bad guy on her own when she is sooo weak, leading to her being taken hostage. It's like she is trying to sabotage the plan. So stupid!
- don't get me started on how every character feed you context/history by telling you in dialogue even when it doesn't make sense in the context. There are much better writing tools to do the same job. It's lazy writing
- They said at one point that spending 1 year in immortal land is 100 years in mortal land. Yet the characters visit immortal land for at least a couple of weeks and the mortal side didn't move as per the laws of the world.
- Yingyuan didn't even bother reading the faked record that yandan passed the memory river. He took her evil sister word for it. Sure the record was fabricated but notice he doesn't even read it. He is supposed to be smart??
- Yandan is supposed to be very smart but her actions at least in the first part are very stupid. I don't really see her applying her brain well outside GO. Even the plots she uncovers are super obviously to the audience that anyone watching the same events she is experiencing unfold would beat her to the "smart" conclusion.

I watched it all because I like the leads and their chemistry but the writing is very bad and full of plot holes, it's like they are not even trying. I have high tolerance to plot holes in fantasy drama but this was too sloppy. I feel while I enjoyed it, it's the type of drama that I will forget about in a week. There are much better xianxia around like fairy and the devil. But if you like the leads it's worth checking out.

Lol not surprised she comes back in part 2. She is indestructible! She is so unbelievably annoying too!

I saw her last in ep 38 where she is supposedly dead "for real". I haven't finished part 2 yet. I cannot say this mosquito women with 9 lives won't show up again... She had multiple false endings ugh.

Judging part 1 only as I haven't finished part 2 yet. I feel that Yandan's type of love is better than Yangyuan. I hate it when dramas make it seem like the ML torturing himself makes up for hurting the FL. As if she would be happy about it. I would have rather he left heaven for her after she jumped from the bridge instead of sulking and torturing himself for nothing.

Mortal version of him is much better. I hope he will learn from that in part 2. But his behaviour in their first love story is honestly disappointing, it's actually like yehua did in the first part in ten miles of peach blossom and the FL made him pay blood for it.

With all that being said, I am still watching. I love the actors what can I say. I am still rating this part 8. I had fun, didn't skip much so that's good enough in my books for an 8 but I wouldn't really rewatch it. I don't want to lose too much hair pulling 😂

I am only watching this now because I like the main leading actors and their chemistry. But honestly the writing leaves a lot to be desired. There are some similarities to love and redemption but it doesn't really compare well against it. I am still enjoying the watch and don't regret the time. But prepare your self to suspend your beliefs significantly and don't try to analyze the logic, it will only hurt your brain. The writing doesn't even respect the laws of the world it built, not to mention how logical beings would behave.

If you like the leading actors and you are willing to not think too much about the logic you'll probably enjoy this. I hope the second part is okay

This drama passed the test of time for me. Years later the story is still vivid to me, while I forgot most dramas I watch a week later. The chemistry is amazing too, make sure to check the BTS for kitchen kiss scene on YouTube 🔥🔥🔥

Coming back a couple of months later and I realize that while I believe I enjoyed the drama (based on my review note). I completely forgot the whole story now. It's unfortunately a forgettable drama. But I don't regret watching it.

Keep watching, it's slow burn but worth it. The plot doesn't focus on romance directly yet the chemistry is very strong with steamy kisses. I watched this several years ago and still remember the story vividly, it is one of my all time favourites
