I am waiting for him to be the ML in another historical drama soon. He will kill it, very charming and talented actor. I feel historical suits his style a bit more than modern.
It sounded like a drama I should love. But I started fast forwarding in ep17 and dropped in ep20 then just watched the leads kiss scenes collection and I just can't feel the chemistry, I really can't. They are cute together but that's all. I can't see the FL as a true love interest for ML, she is smart but can be so annoying and stupid at times. I just can't see why ML fell hard for her, it's not believable for some reason.
I really like when FL in dramas are very smart, think minglan or story of yanxi palace. This is not it, this FL is not consistent in using her brain. Also her acting is just passing, her looks are cute and the story is not that good. If not for the ML actor I would have dropped it much fast
Just finished it, watched both seasons in 3 days I loved it! I give it a 9 which is very high for me. Some thoughts:-…
Seo Yul seriously planning to kill Naksu and never telling his friend he was going to do it when it fell through! Like this character is for a very kind person, why kill someone without even investigating their wrong doing.
Also it's very strange how they brushed over the 🔔 divination thing that made Naksu do it. Seo explained it to Naksu but no one told Jang Uk about it. I mean surely he wondered what made her stab him.
Even the bell divination thing was explained as embed in the soul ejectors made by fake queen in S1, but in S2 they said it was a potion.
The soul ejectors always worked through water in S1 but didn't need water in S2 for some reason
Just finished it, watched both seasons in 3 days I loved it! I give it a 9 which is very high for me. Some thoughts: - Engaging story that makes it hard to wait between eps. Glad I waited until all aired - I liked the Chemistry with this FL actress and ML more than the one in S1. - There are several plot holes and inconsistency between S1 and S2. Because I watched them back to back, it was obvious. But not too bad to ruin the fun. - Evil characters very one dimensional. - Some behaviours by characters where inexplicable at times. Will explain in a spoiler comment.
Overall would certainly recommend it if only to look at very attractive couple with epic love story, steamy chemistry (S2) and many great side characters.
It was a fun watch, didn't skip anything and enjoyed it because I didn't take it too seriously. Story full of plot holes and parody like villain characters (frequent evil laugh and all). The ML (Chen Zhe Yuan) really carried it. The other brother's character was boring compared to him and the actor mediocre (for example in some scenes where he supposedly thinks the girl he loves is dead/about to die, he still acted wooden and lacking of emotion).
Anyway, I thought it was a fun watch that I don't regret
I am really surprised I liked it so much. I feel that the ending really made me like it more which is unusual. The ML acting is absolutely outstanding and charming. Not the biggest fan of the FL actress in general and her wardrobe choices but they were cute together nonetheless.
The last episode has some clearly improvised parts which made them incredibly heartfelt and touching. The leads didn't seem like they were acting then, it truly felt real. I also like how the ending explained all the key questions to the audience.
It was draggy and the story can be easily told in 10 eps max. Yet I didn't mind it as the ML acting was very charming and waiting for his scenes made it worthwhile. I am also a sucker for MLs that fall first and hard for FL. So the eps of him chasing her were fun to me. Though I skipped a bit of the 2nd couple scenes. The 2nd ML is so childish it's actually funny but his love story didn't grab me.
This poor actress. She is so good at acting evil in disguise that now I distrust her anytime I see her face. She is so good at it that it's hard for me to believe her as a good character ever
I came for romance and stayed for sismance instead. That being said it really got too draggy for me in the last…
I really hated how the 5th prince was repeatedly physically abused by his wife and the writers clearly intended it as a comical relief when it wasn't. He was bruised and suffered really bad injuries from his much stronger wife. If this was a role in reverse we'd all be up in arms about it. Physical abuse is not okay! I hated they did it so often when his wife character was amazing otherwise and they had to ruin it
The chemistry between sisters are stronger than chemistry between couple 😅😅😅
Agreed! The couple were cute together but I honestly felt the sisters have more love for each other than the main couple. That's okay it was good to have such a strong sismance for a change
I came for romance and stayed for sismance instead. That being said it really got too draggy for me in the last quarter. The story is fluffy in parts and deep in others but honestly the writing is not of a high quality overall. Don't expect a masterpiece but you may enjoy it as a relatively lighthearted drama
It was a good watch, best Boys over flowers adaptation. I skipped most of the last 2 eps as I didn't like the last arc but still good watch. I like the FL but I wish she didn't hit the ML so much. Like she is telling him violence isn't the answer yet she hits him hard many times, most not in self defense including a slap and also bunching him while badly injured in a hospital bed and while he screamed it hurt. FL was borderline physically abusive when it wasn't necessary for the story
