I started watching kdramas back in 2016 and though i started off with romance heavy shows, i eventually gravitated towards crime thrillers with a darker atmosphere. Not that i dislike romance but i just prefer a more subtle kind of romance. My personal recommendations would be: Voice (the first 3 seasons, didnt really like the 4th but you might like it) Tell me what you saw Train Signal Taxi driver Beyond evil Kairos Tunnel The ghost detective Train Save me (season 1 and 2. They aren't really linked) Memories of alhambra The guest (horror but soooo good) Stranger (season 1 and 2) Liar game Healer Search Nobody knows Money game My beautiful bride (same makers as cruel city) Hometown
Shows/movies that you have already mentioned have some that i second: the veil, devil judge, vagabond, awaken, bad guys, children of nobody, bad guys and the man from nowhere
Ok I have been visiting this comments section for quite some time now but i opened this account just now because…
I honestly find nothing wrong with the way you critic the episodes. The problem here is that most of the people watching the show are fans of the female lead and dont realize that the comment sections in MDL of almost all dramas are the same. One of my favourite dramas of all time gets regularly bashed on a daily basis and i don't mind it. One of my least favourite shows has people singing praises all the time. I still don't mind. Most (not all) people that find your reviews offensive are probably people that recently made their accounts because of this drama and dont realize that this is a normal thing on MDL.
"I don't give a **** about what happened in korea in 1987"..... You do realize this is a korean show....about koreans....about what happened in korea in 1987.....made for the korean audience to watch? Like literally the korean audience comes first? Im not saying anything about whether the show should be cancelled or not, what im saying is you are horrible for writing such things when you are watching a korean show in the first place. How would you like it if a show in your country is being protested against and an outsider comes in to say they don't give a damn and just want to watch it?
I dropped these too. Plus vincenzo. I feel like the hype around these shows raised my expectations too high. If…
As someone who disliked black as well, i think the problem was the ending. The ending completely destroyed the drama. That and the forced humour and romance. If the drama had removed these and stuck with the dark themes i would have loved it because i really did like the core mystery. Also i actually liked the original grim reaper a little more than when he became SSH. He just had that edgy look fit for the character
Why Suzy and eun woo are in top 10 tho. 🤮🤮People's choices are pretty disappointing.
This really is just a popularity contest rather than actual assessment of skills. Why else would BTS V, despite being in only 1 drama, be above veteran actors like so ji sub, yoon kye sang, hwang jung eum, seo hyun jin and lee joon??? Someone explain this to me :/
The top 5 are also my top 5 so agree with that, but i would put yoon kye sang, kim se jeong, krystal and nana…
Also, i understand jisoo being on the list but why are jennie, lisa and rose on the list?

I dont know, ive watched almost all interviews and press conferences and i never heard lee jin wook say something about wanting his character to die. In fact in one interview when asked about the series he said he would want to continue acting in it (this interview was when voice 3 was airing i believe). It's likely that the writer told him his character would end and he discussed how they would shoot the scene. I could have missed something though so if you have the link to the interview where he said he knew how voice 3 would end can you send it to me?

I dont think it was his decision. From the interviews of the writer, it seems to be like it was the makers who decided it. But i have never seen a director or writer apologise for a show's ending. But for voice 3, the director had to apologise because of the reaction. Just shows how it impacted everyone. Continuing to disregard the feelings of the fans won't help them. Ratings speak for themselves. Season 4 could not surpass the first 3 seasons despite them airing on a smaller channel (OCN)

Also i doubt lee jin wook would ever turn down voice. He's friends with lee hana and has been for many years. I believe it is one of his most successful shows and he did mention that he would love to keep acting in it (this was before season 3 ended though)

Remember that scene in season 3 when kang centre tells do kang woo about how she got her hearing loss? How t he car accident gave her enhanced hearing? It was so strange how she mentioned that and then do kang woo gets shot in the head. Its very much possible that it could have hit the area where the problem was in the first place. Apparently the writer said that do kang woo was always meant to die. But the his statement after season 4 contradicts this. The fact that a grave scene was deleted from the script means that they make have thought about changing things. Many people assume that the scene was deleted because of time constraints but if that were true then they could have added it in season 4. However if this truly is the end for team leader do, this is where i must part ways with the series. I tried to watch season 4. I tried to give it a chance but do kang woo's death is too fresh and derek cho is too bland (it's not necessarily SSH at fault here. Jang hyuk and lee jin wook were just made for the series). If they dont bring back do kang woo next season, I'll just pretend s3 was the last one and leave it at that. I cant watch something that gives me pain. And plus its not like his death was logical in the first place. Why give us the hope of a cure if he were to die? Why show everyone finally rallying behind him and trusting him then ending it all? Why keep bang je soo alive if do kang woo was to die? The makers cant be that insensitive. And why kill him in the first place? Even if they wanted a new lead, they could have simply ended season 3 like season 2 with do kang woo leaving for America for treatment. It was just unnecessarily cruel. So either he's brought back, or i part ways with the show.
Can someone please let me know what the ending is like? Ive been waiting for the show to end so that i can binge watch it, but i hate tragic endings. Does someone from the 4 main leads die? Obviously i don't mind spoilers
