Steal jin bu yeon power 😂 there was no jin bu yeon from the start
There was, Jin Bu Yeon was the incarnation of that first priest of Jin, she was later resurfaced to destroy that evil power whatnot, and then her soul disapeared to let Naksu resurfaced again in her body. Naksu was a murderer no matter what the justification and her romance shouldn't be a thing to celebrate after robhing the body of someone else and never being held accountable for all what she did nor she evem feel the need to d o so on her own accord. Somethjng is really not right about the story. The proper end should be that of season one, she should just die for her sins, the same for the ML. They both should die in S1, there is notjing learned here but a cheap romance wrapped in unnecessary complicated story.
Idk what's going on with the webtoon, but ep 2 is really upsetting concerning the dog, like seriously the police just "follow the order" to put away the dog just because people say the dog might attack someone without any backstory if the dog has such a history, the only "crime" the dog committed was messing up crime scene by licking things, the dog actually helped them finding out the bones of the parents murdered by the half blind woman. And it is not the dog's fault at all for licking for things, as probably the dog wasn't well taken care of by the woman as indicated by her own indiference when she told Lee Tang about the dog's behaviour. That woman probably used the dog as her cover and also for keeping people away people from her house, she even faked that the dog is a service dog. The dog even tried to enter that karaoke bar as he sniffed Lee Tang inside it. So glad he could ran away or else it will be really upsetting to stomach ep 2.
This is just wow, hopefully there will be second season to show the whole plan set up by Jeong Jin Man in taking down"the company" and Bale and his cohorts. His staging his death and what about him coming back at the last seconds on last episode looked like he was also just coming back from deadly battle.
And I really love the youngee version of Jeong Jih An. Almost cry on how such a little girl not knowing whatever happened to her parents by instinct surviving on her own against merciless killers, and abuse at school, and how she despite her uncle's not really know how to deal with raising a child in normal way, she's able to adapt and really trust her uncle.
The 20ies Jih An in the other hand, strangely just believing in someone so easily, when her uncle taught her in the first place to always be cautious even to his friends. She's being cautious towards everyone else except that one guy, juat because he was her elementary school friend, suddenly show up on your door the day your uncle die, and started to offer to do things inside the house when you are out, that should be a big red flag. But she has no problem to point a gun and being super cautious with her uncles other friends. Toward brother, she keeps pointing a gun on him, while he was not being violent and not showing any kind of threats, the fact that Brother stayed spwn there in his uncle's place, showed that he's working there and the fact that it was his uncle property and all the surveilances there set up by his uncle, at least Brother has more credibility than the other guy. But she kept listening to this guy without suspicions until he broke it to her it was all his sick plan. At first it annoyed me, then when Brother told Min Hye that he left her alone so she could learn to handle the situation herself as wished by her uncle that'a kinda wow, show that they trust her uncle and trust her. She learn from her mistake and then learnt to deal and fix them herself. It is just awesome to see how the three of them and later on with Pasin could deal with all the seasoned mercenaries and their sophisticated drones.
The only waste of time is the repetitive scenes on flashbacks.
The acting of all the casts are incredible, especially love little Jih An.
It should ended with season 1, proper ending as no matter what Naksu was a murderer and soul shifter, and Jang Uk was selfish to achive his own goal, lots of people die because he hides Naksu stealing someone's body just so they both can fall in love with each other without ever thinking about the poor Jin Bu Yeon's soul and bpdy being stolen from her?
And in second season tried to justify Naksu's evil deed by reconcile their romance again at the cost of Jin Bu Yeon's life. Now Naksu regain her memory and again steal Jin Bu Yeon's divine powers so both of them can resume their past love? It just petty romance at the cost of stealing someone's life. First season ending should ended with both of them died after solving the matter, keep dragging it to second season just to watch Naksu coming back with someone's power to save the world? Really that's petty and shallow one imho. Poor Jin Bu Yeon no one even care about her except her poor mother. All just about Jung Uk and her romance with a murderer.
Was hesitant due to the MDL.rate, then watch it and this is surprisingly good. The endiny is good for me because unlike many Kdramas give us either unsatisfying rush ending, or ending with only the main antagonists only being punished, here we have all the participant involved, even the character that only mentioned but not making an appearance like Attorney General got punishe for power abuse. It is really satisfying ending.
The action scenes are very well excecuted, but the story isn't that thrilling as it supposed to, it's predictable and not much of an intrigue or twists. And characterization of FL is just too much of exaggeration. + FL physical strength and endurance is too overboard since early on. Like she beats up every man who is not just physically stronger than him, but also well trained, even a talented fighter takes literally years to be able to beat more than one opponent in one fight. But she just started and just because Mijun told her spots of strikes, but in actual fight it just really difficult to manage. And the part her water drink was spiked but she managed to beat up two men again, right after their competion, then she still offered alcohol afterward. And she's just fine physically and we don't see much of her internal struggle of what's she's doing, understand that her only purpose is revenge, but even in that someone don't just go on about it without some internal struggles and contemplation.
+in every fight she beats up every male opponent like it's nothing, even when she's wounded. And we do not see much action from Pildo or even Mujin.
+her revenge also seems to be blind. I mean, she didn't even try to dig up about her father's past. She blindly hate police force, blaming them for killing her father, blindly believe in everything Mujin told her. When she's in narcs, she had every chancd to verify Mujin's version and dig up more about Gi Ho, but she didn't. Even when she heard Pil Do's story, she's really unmoved and unbending on her blind pursue of revenge, no planning to dig up or find out things but she manage to spy for Mujin. She should have at least have suspicion when the gun was tested and it proved to be belonged to a narc police and when it was told by Gi Ho that her father killed that police (he was covering up her father identity), she should have known that impossible that gun now in the hands of police to kill her father. The gun was in the possesion of Mu Jin's gang means someone in the gang took and used that gun to kill her father, not the police since the supposed police was killed by his father when he was in the gang. It just make little sense on that. She resented her father, believing that he's a gang member and addict, yet hell bent on taking revenge (well it seem.natural but the direction of her suspicious is toward police is a bit off), if his father is a gang member and also an addict, she saw policd detectives every single day stakr out at her appartment complex, and police wouldn't wearing mask and hoodie, they would arrest him but not killing him out of the blue. And the motive for killjng her father she never seemed to dig it up also as we didn't see her doing any of that as a police officer. We only see her spying for Mujin and the only thjng she dug up was the gun. She didn't even try to look up for the.profilr of the owner of the gun, she would probably saw her father's profile early on. But no she didn't. And very strange that the gang member sent her the picture, like everything was spoon-fed to her and her only ability is just kicking ass but no intelligent work on whatrver case.
+ the ending, not just rushed but really? Out of the blue romance as a quick side plot to sacrifice Pil Do? Like his character is more realistic and proper than Hye Jin., even natural. But to kill him off to make way for Hye Jin to go hell bent on her revenge, a weak justification at that. Out of her way and crossing all the lines being police detective. No real message here in this drama but a blind revenge. She even still a police detective? After all what she did? Like she's justified to do all that? Justice only for her but she doesn't need to be brough to justice for all her breaking the laws as police officer? She's not arrested yet proudly put a picture of her and her father in uniform? Like her father was through and through police detective, but she's just a gangster going undercover as police on her personal vendetta.
So this drama imho a poor written drama but the acting is superb and the action scenes indeed excellent.
It's quite thrilling on the village and the goto family tradition and all. But have serious problem with the wife and the child. + when you know there's child predator in the neighborhood, parents would keep strict eye on their children. How on earth their daughter somehow ended up in perp's house? Where's the mom? + like when Agawa stormed into the perp's house there are other police officers too, instead of taking the gilr out of the room immediately and make sure she's ok and safe while Agawa beating that man up, they just stood there let the child watch it. And a child definitely will have serious trauma from that. +it would be a very red flag for parents when your child brought back human finger home, being protective parents, he should not just keep silent, he should bring his family out of there instantly for their safety and the child. Even from the slightest suspicioun that the village is dangerous, the child must be kept away from that. How come he left his wife and child alone, yet roaming about the village in his own too. + when he got hacked on the head by that man, strangely, most parents would see thier children and wife faces flashing before their eyes, but Agawa only see his wife face. + after that, instead of telling his wife, the village isn't what it seemed to be, the two of them asked a traumatised child to decide of they should go back there or not. Instead if seeking professional help for your traumatised child, yea let her decide if she wanted to go back to a strange place you suspected full with cannibals. Seriously this lack of rationale on this just blood boiling. + on 1st episode it was upsetting to see the wife yell at her child to stop making origamo because she's upset with the husband, and Agawa instead of comforting their daughter, just stand there and stare at the child. They both supposed to show how they love and care for their child and the child had been through some serious trauma, and youblet them watch you argue and then throw tantrum on them for no reason is seriously sick. +the idea he's investigating the village in order to make sure if the village is safe for the daugther is insane, he already knew something is not right and he's there alone against the whole village, like seriously a man wouldn't want his family live there. But Agawa and his wife think it is the best place just because the child had smiled for the first time after a long while. You love your child and want the best for them and want them to recover from their trauma, you have them treated , bring them to psychologist, not to a remote village with strange people. + I don't see them having that parental chemistry with the child, I mean no meaningful interaction with the child, it seems like she was just used as a reason for them to be there in the village. +how come in a substation there is only one police officer? No back up. +and how in the hell a police had gone missing and supposed to be dead, and then later found out to be dead, and the cirsumstance of his death is that gore, being eaten by someone, and thats not enough evidence already to launch an investigation and to swarm the place with detectives and SWAT? how powetful that family is that even police death under suspicious circumsrance is not to be investigated and not enough evidence for launching an investigation?
It would be better if the story if they do not involved his wife and child characters at all. Just make Agawa as a police being assigned in that village. Because it just upsetting to watch a traumatised child somehow will be good and safe in a village of cannibals. And woman, seriously if you keep demanding your husband to always be around and not be in danger, never marry a police. It is his job, and you should know better the risks come with the job. It was her who ask the child if she wanted to go back to the village, she knows people are strange there, and she constantly worry about her husband's safety why asked the child when her husband already offered to move to other place, then later yelling at him that he should leave with them, and they should leave together. Later they left yes but it just upsetting if they make the story like that.
It should be interestingly good but imho it lacks alot of rationale on the family storyline there. Hoprfully in 2nd season the wife and the child are not given so much airtime if they just unnecessary for the main story. And if they going to make a no rational or logical story line for the wife and a traumatised child.
I love this drama. At first I was so annoyed by In-Joos character but as time progress amused then really love her, as even she's the most naive among the three, she did what she did for her sisters, her sense of responsibility as the eldest is very touching. I'm so glad at the end her youngest sister wrote the sweet message for her like that she should live for her own now. I wish she could have a good ending also with Choi Do Il the way In-Kyung and Jonho, but then sometimes relationship doesn't mean you have to have physical contact for public display, I think Do Il isn't that kind of character, but he protected her all the way to the end in his own way. It would be good if there is a special done for them both but anyway the ending was quite satisfactory. It's abit disappointing that the villains just died without ever paying their crimes, the female lackey and that reporter, and the OBN newstation chief also just being brushed off. But good ending for the sisters because this is more about them.
In episode 4, the stupid escalates. Why not park the money at the great-aunt's house?
They don't have good relationship with their aunt, and their aunt also will not allow herself to do that knowing where that money come from. She wouldn't risk her business, she was also related to that organisation (she knew Park Jae Sang's father and know what Park Jae Sang is capable of doing (the same way his father was like in later episode revealed by the general's son). Even without that, Park Jae Sang caused so much damage to her company that when she died (murdered), her company was in great debt. They just didn't trust her enough due to past misunderstanding. Only very late they realised their great aunt was not as indiference/inconsiderate about them,
Ten minutes into the first episode and the main characters annoy me already. They know their mother is avaricious,…
They didn't expect that their mom would steal the money. And to give it behind their mom's back probably will result the same, because their mother will find out anyway when she should give a letter of consent for her minor daughter to travel. She will not give the consent and take the money anyway.
I need a perspective from Yohan as well.. How and when did he start investigating JBR?
I think it was in the drama, it was all started when they were in elementary school. They attended the same school. And then in highschool, Yohan recognize him again, but at that time his name is changed to Ba Reum. Ba Reum and his friends saved Yo Han from bullies but it Ba Reum deliberately give the credit to his friend (later became the prison guard he murdered also). I think ever since Yo Han started his investigation to Ba Reum as well to know about his own history (they were switched as a baby). There was scene I think they were living in the same neighborhood as a child and probably Yo Han watched it when his mother tried to kill Ba Reum, then he began to wonder why ever since.
This drama brought up one of the taboo in every society to the surface. A disturbingly tragic one. Most of incentous relationship is inconsensual but there is case that it is disturbingly consensual coming up from such disfunctional family relation. It is hard to fathom or symphatize with them who did it, yet at the same time they were just victims of situation. And only finding each other as each other's saviour and developing such disturbing emotional entanglement. So very sad.
And it is even harder for the child resulted in such relationship, not only rejected by society but also the family, looking at them with such condemnation and treated as a disgusted thing, creating another tragic situation for them. They can't be out in society, hid or abandoned, and if they are out in the society they probably havr the situation like Young Ho.
In this I feel more symphatetic with Young Ho than with the FL. I mean she said she didn't want the inheritance yet did everything to get it, and even tried to frame her own brother for her situation like uneducated person. She could do all the ghostwriting for the professor who exploiting her intellectually and then later sexually, it took her very long time to stand up to her cheating husband, and took her time to stand up to the professor and the other newly made professor. She do very quick to jump into conclusion of her brother's suspicious behavior withot trying to figure our what his intention actually was, and if he's her brother why it would be a problem for her to share that burial ground which she claimed she wasn't expecting that. But she let herself trapped with obviously shaddy people. Like she let then think and plan for her, and acted like she's the victim. She should received jailtime with other thugs she asked them to do the job for her no matter how it turned out to be and not to her expectation, she wanted them to illegally forcing Young Ho to give up his legal lawsuit so she could have the burial site as her own. This drama only do justice for her not for Young Ho which is really sad. She wasn't the only victim, she was a victim turnrd perpetrator. And they made her the only victim to get justice bur apparently Young Ho has to be someone not just saving her from jailtime but also brought back into the shadow in the end. That's the only thing that doesn't sit right for me.
Overall this is a very interesting drama, well acted and well underrated.
the ending was weird in trying to make it feel almost.... sentimental when they were buried together with the…
Even it is so twisted and unfathomable, they are indeed family by blood. And it was like her sarcastic expression to let go and distance herself from the side of her family by calling them "they are family", not they are my family. I think she just wanted to close that dark chapter of her life and just move on. I don't think it is weird even it looked so, it just proper ending as it is.
So underrated. This drama is so good to watch. Taek Rok is the type of police who will not allow himself to be corrupted by power and politic games inside and outside the police realm. Always thought himself to ve not fitting the job as a police detective yet he remain true to his service for over 30 years. He's a seasoned detective, who will not stop pursuing justice even it will cost him alot of pain, disappointment, heartbreak.
Still like the fist season, in this season too we see other tried to blame him without doing a thorough research/digging for his past, why he did what he did. This time Joo Hyeon, I mean she's in the department that could dig up even the smallest detail of a person yet just easily provoked by the words of a criminal. It was that Young Ho who instigated the murder of her father, yet he took his words that it was only chief Baek who murdered her father, and went on telling Taek Rok he should felt guilty for creating BST. Taek Rok formed that group among friends to keep each other and help each other as friends and also as police, he took the fall for Dohyung repeat misconducts. It was in the past, has nothing to do with the currwnt time when Taek Rok always tried to set things straight. I don't know why she had to make him feeling guilty about his past when he had done nothing wrong about it even. The group was disbanded as soon as he was demoted and sent to where he serve now. He made BST for good purpose but Dohyun keep using it to commit violence against criminals. He's just a petty violent criminal in uniform, thini that to keep his colleagues safety is by commuting violence against criminals which was against the law. To be strong doesn't mean to be or use violence at all times, and to use his gun to kill criminals at will. It was over in the past and as Taek Rok left, Dohyung made new secretive group for his own personal use in the name of keeping the police and former police safe, a criminal gang on his own, when his goal is to gain power over police force and be the king pin of polive force. A legalised criminal cartel with political power in uniform to serve him. It make no sense to make Taek Rok who they know work super hard despite his age and his trauma and personal struggles with memory too at times to solve crimes. He even sacrificed his family life for that, he just wanted his family to be safe and keep providing for them. When most of them using their work/position to pursue their own personal vendetta. Joo Hyeon use it to seek personal revenge in her father too. It's not wrong as she did that in the correct corridor of law, still losing your logic out of provocation and started making others ti feel guilt over their past that they didn't even do anythung wtong is just make no sense for a smart police detective.
That's the only disappointment but the rest is really good, I love the way Taek Rok interact with SungA and detective Son, everyone aroubd him, he's like a protective fatherly figure. And the way he kicked SungA's legs and shout at her for putting herself in danger is just so amusing and at the sane time felt warmth, and the way SungA told him she will keep him safe until he hits 60 is just sweet. It was nice interaction. And the way at the end epuside when he confronted Dohyung in publi as a murderer he was smiling and at the same time almost crying as Dogyung was his friend and he had to brought him to justice in the end. It was remarkable scene.
I wonder why MDL rate is only 8/10 when this could be 9/10 or even higher. Anyway this is one of best Kdrama I watched so far. I watched twice actually and still it gives me the same thrill and also rush of emotions, very few dramas especially from this kind of genre that rewatchable after you watch the first time. So for me personally this one is great drama.
It is a cowardice how Jinhan tried to blame his own choice on Taek Rok, The man only gave him a piece of advice from a seasoned police detective to a younger one to not give up and keep carry on being a proper police detective through hardwork to prove himself worthy even when the situatuon was super hard and complex in the midst of a corrupted environment. He wanted to give up being a police officer before even started and Taek Rok only gave him that piece of advice, he made his own choice on his own, and the fact that he had to gave in to the corrupt system despite his best effort to fight against it, is not because he was weak or anything but his because the liability factors used by others to corrupt him, his family, and it was his own choice to compromise and to gave in to the pressure.
Poor man Taek Rok, that he had to feel guilty of everyone else's mistakes and had to carrt such heavy burden on his own. But even with all his own internal struggles and heavy burden he remained the same man, despite getting old and struggle with his own trauma and keeping his memory intact, he still maintain his integrity and self-commitment to be a proper police detective, he went through a lot yet still someone anyone can look up to and dependable. His mistakes was only being negligent of the misconduct of his colleagues, he was aware something was wrong but he turned blind eyes on that, and the consequences are heavy on him, he tried to protect his family by letting them go yet he keep on providing for them. Yet he tried at least to right the wrong, even it cost him his dear friends. His only weakness and aldo his strength is that he keeps feeling guilty over things in the past as he moved on and struggle to make things right. A great man acknoledge his mistakes and learned and do his best to correct them. And the fact others tried to blame him and made him feel guilty of their own mistakes is just really upsetting to watch.
But this one is excellent drama, I love all the casts. And Lee Sung Min definitely one the greatest Kactor, he nailed every role he played
It didn’t seem like he was really bullied by the way they were speaking. More like the cops used “bullying”…
Because that's still a reality in a very hierarchical society like Korea, Japan, and even China that despite it is now dealt with seriously and there are laws regarding bullying and abuse, and people awarness about it also far more better than in the past, it is still a real issues happened in every day life. And they maybe keep bringing it up not to boast about it, I think more likely to keep.reminding its viewers this kind of thing is real and despite of all laws and even social punishments, it still happening and the gravity and severity of it are real physically and psychologically.
I used to work in a SK company, it was very strict law abiding company, I mean we have deparment of compliance which deal with all forms of workplace problems including abuse.
My Korean managers and colleagues were nice and kind people, very polite and despite sometimes you can tell from the tone of their voice about the expression of their emotions, they are very polite and respectful persons. But toward each other it is a different story, I mean same age colleagues would be very physical toward each other, I.mean it is a common thing for them to poke one's head or gently or mildly smack one's head, or jabbing at one's stomach. Well for us it looked like serious bully but it was done in a friendly way, it means you are very close to the person to be able to do that and the person juat laugh it off. You really can't.tell sometimes. And the verbal abuse is really something common. I always be on guard of this kind of abuse than others, because they sometimes speak in Korean among us, but well thank you to Kdramas that even when we do not speak Koreans, we know all the bad languages as we've seen in almost every Kdrama, which is even them Koreans aware of and tried so hard not to do at workplace in compliance.with labor law about workplace abuse. But but one of my colleague told me, bullying at school and workplace in SK is a very real thing, and very serious thing. He even said he was so glad he worked in other country even it is Korean.company, still it is in foreign country and has to follow domestic labor law in place. He said if he'a in SK he would probably being treated differently as newbie among many seasoned seniors or new seniors who like to display their arrogance and power. And they tend to watch their language too. So you see, it is not about being crazy about bullying issues, but more like they wanted to.keep.reminding people it is still a real thing that still happening despites all the laws in place.
Short Episode 4 criticism:Not telling Sung-A anything was just really stupid and led to such an obvious complication.…
Imho he's just being protective of her, it is in his character that he's the type who carry the heavy yoke on his own shoulders, he thought made mistake of negligence once that led to the death of his colleagues, and he took it personally, not to mention his own struggle with the trauma with his daughter's abduction. It wasn't easy for him, he's old with ailings and he still feel responsible for Sung-A, and as he couldn't protect him physically as she's a grown up woman and a police detectuve at that the only way for him is to keep her away from the dangerous case he has to resolve on his own. He didn't want to lose another precious lives around him, as he was haunted with nightmares of them blaming him for the death of everyone around him (in ep. 2 I thought he had a nighrmare Sung-A and Jinhan blamed him. It was his own subconscious guilt for not being able to protect them even when it wasn't his fault. He's just that type of character. Like all the weigh of this world he should carry on his shoulders alone.
He knew Sung-A is a capable detective but but he couldn't risk to put her life in danger, because he's not even sure yet what he's up against, deadly force in the shadow. And these villains were not kicking and beating, they kill everyone gets in their way, thats why he wanted nothing but to keep her alive. It's a form of his fatherly love for her, as he's been tgat father/guardian figure for Sung-A since her teenage years (he put her father in jail and be there for her).
But as the story progress we knew he couldn't help it if Sung-A get involved by her own accord. It wasn't his fault all those complications went on as there were many suspicious player and things just entangled here and there. I think Sung-A understood him and he also learned to let her became the proper detective that untainted by corruption in the police force. He wanted her and e detective Song to be different generation unlike his.
I think he's one of best K-actors, he could play every role and character given to him, be good or bad guy. And he's in dramas with good stories and ratings even as a guest role. He has that vibe to be liked as good guy and hated as bad guy. Top notch actor imho. Best wishes always Mr. Yoo Seung Mok 👍🏼
And I really love the youngee version of Jeong Jih An.
