In the end after all the murder spree, FL decided she's strong enough to trap the evil spirit within her only to be posessed completely and again someone has to save her. She supposed to be strong but she isn't, she supposed to be smart but she isn't. She never goes with any plans, never have one, wanted to catch the evil spirit but always cow in fear and weak in front of her, yet she keeps going on and on doing so to the end. At least her late sister's boyfriend know how to trick the evil spirit and that thing he had protected him being posessed, while how on earth her sister's hearijg aid couldn't protected her at all from being posessed. And she until the end after the evil spirit came into her, being posessed completely without any fighting at all. I mean she knows the spirit is strong and already told her she will keeps killing with her body, she keeps wanting to trap her in her body in the name of protecting someone else? When she can't even protect herself, being posessed instantly. It just makes you upset, and the ending is very disappointing, that evil spirit just disappear after murdering and hurting so many people and to rest in peace?
I know this is a different approach addressing how human emotions can be so corrupted and eating them up alive. Yet the supposed good people here never use the most strongest power of all, like the ghost of Da Il have to resort to some devilish advice, that only tage and despare can enable him to do things when in fact his mother wrote that down with her blood that she loved her, and so was FL sister. Ypu can't battle evil with evil, imho. Love is the most strong enforcer there is for one to be able to save others. It gives power and strength and endurance. And it is love that can comfort and ease one's pain. But here we only see these people talking about love but draws power from the very same source of power for the evil ones. So hard to stomach that the highligjt here is not that but anger, despair guilt and all.
The acting is great but the story is just make you feel like there's no hope against evil spirit but by resorting to empowering certain emotions we had, some destructive emotions when can't be controlled or overcome. And there is no redemption at all emotionally. The only convincing here is the existence of evil as delivered by the villain, when it comes to the good guys you almost disappointed every time because you only get the stereotype of being good means you weak and always have to struggle and confused and have no real direction. Which is not true.
Would give it a 10/10 but the ending wasn't just rushed but also not satisfactory for certain characters: +The evil head nurse and the other fellow nurse and that guard, why should give them the air time when they weren't being at lead capturrd with their operations. +the justice for the guy who took the fall for the serial killer son of chairman Kangm why even brought that story up if the story only being a meaningless filler when the man who not just took the fall but also had to die a miserable death beliving a lie that his mother was taken care of when in fact she died without ever receiving a bone marrow transplant?
Thats just the two obvious parts that really being put into the story withour proper ending at all. And there are other things as well that seems to not being wrapped up properly. Like for the thrill of 16 episodes you only get like less than 15 minutes conclusion of the story is like enjoyimg a good meal but then you have to swallow the dessert along with the main course and be done with it. Very disappointing, and the main villain the Mayor only got like a minute conclusion for his evil doings is just like a punch on the face. The fact that FL had to die to bring resolution to the case when they had many options provided like the serial killer son and so on, and how the Big Mouse organisation that not even doing anything remarkable in the last episodes, really a big disappointment.
The ML expression is also felt amiss...when he worried when he was happy and relieved or angry or whatnot his expression is just bland...you don't get the feel from his facial expression, so his character just feel flat and not even intimidating in contrast with so many great expressions from other casts especially the main villain, like his smirky smiles even send a chill...and make you hate him so much.....when for ML you don't feel anything at all. Give it a good score for the acting of all other casts but not the ML. His acting is good and it seems he tried so very hard but you can tell he's acting when the others you feel like their acting is real. You get the emotions out of them.
It is a good thrill with a very bad taste inn the end, after a long 16 episodes with a 10 minutes wrapped up thsat left a bad taste in your mouth....disappointment.
This season really disappointing in the story line, like poor other characters they pretty much have to survive on their given skills and really hard for them to get or learn new skill while the story keep giving So Mun new power or ability out of nowhere and he had to teach them something. I mean seriously Ha Na practically said to have the ability to sense evil spirit from kilometers away but somehow it just useless in this season as she couldn't even sense it for a stronger evil spirit, and evil spirit keeps evolving with such great ability to absorb counters ability when the counters themselves only have limited ability and often have to work in team against an evil spirit or else always got beaten up almost to death. Like no one is getting good development on their character and to exagerrated ability for So Mun only without background story of how he could manage to get every new ability adding up when others just stuck with what they had and have to keep up with that. Mo Tak was presented as even more dumb here when it comes to learn new ability when he's a detective and have good physical training and in S1 he was like doing all thr detective works, but somehow he had to be the least to be able to learn new ability, but thankfully even he's the least to in the excercise of that new power, he magically can perfom that ability later better than others. Still portraying him being dumb at learning and at the same time showing him to be good detective is like how come? And So Mun keeps getting and mastering new ability even the Yun people don't know or not aware of before really make no sense. This is what really disappoiting in this that evil spirits are really good at getting or absorbing powers when on counters side everyone even yun people only depended on one person only when evil spirits can learn and counters seems to have lack ability to learn except So Mun who just happened to be more powerful than everyone else. At least in S1 we have good story development at good pace as well. Every character well presented and performed. S2 is just disappointing in that manner, but every cast still a good watch. I like their bond as friends and family and how So Mun won't give up on Mr. Ma showing even in the slightes chance to save with a big risk to take, he decided to go on with that chance to save Mr. Ma. But all that also even more strong in S1. Family, friendship. And nice to see Ha Na on her bright cheerful happy side here too.
The moral of the story here which keeps me hanging to the very end. + when Ha Na said to Mo Tak when he and So Mun had an argument and he went out alone to fight against Mr.Ma, Ha Na went out with him and later when he asked why, she said because they are family and that no one should be left alone, someone has to be there with him. Thats really touching. + the extreme one can fall into. From being a good person into being evil. From obe extreme to another and the struggle to not being totally drawn into the darkness. When wicked people embrace it fully and Mr. Ma actually struggle to the very end to get out of it, and it is all thanks to So Mu who's beung there and even went to far to reach out to him when he's drawn in his world of darkness. Thats precious friendship, familyship. Like don't give up on your friends when they fall down hard and to have someone to reach out and to find and bring you out of the darkness, is what true friendship is. And it is really good thing to think and learn about.
"little talent" he's literally one of the greatest actors in south korea, you really don't know anything about…
He indeed had little talent in acting as he started off as model. But he worked hard on building up his acting career and up to new challenges of roles he tooks in dramas or movies. That is one a credit to him. And yes he's lucky that his agency got him good roles where he could get as much as experience in ranges of roles, that is also good thing. And he's indeed little bit feminine in his choive of fashion but that's his own personal reference and taste, nothing wrong with that. People having opinion doesn't make them shitty person just because you don't agree or not liking the comments they have.
LJS really working hard doing his best to play the role he got defying the demand on talent, you know talent alone will not work, one need a will to work hard, a determination to challenge themselves and go beyond their own expectation sometimes, and his supporters should pride in that. With little talent he rise up through hard working develop himself challenge himself and prove himself to be what he is today. It is all hard works on his part and good agency/team he chose to be part of, which gives him all the chances to build himself up.
He actually do a really good job in this drama. And talent is something people can work with, even if you have very little talent when you work hard on building it up, little by little, develop your skills, keep on with challenges, talent is not all what make someone is. We see lots of people with great talents but have no experiences or enough skills to realise the talent, or not getting good agency or team that could give them chances, or not having what is needed to develop or make good use of the talent ended up having their talent wasted, or not shine through....so it is a big two thumbs up for LSJ, he really has little talent but the fact he could make it and really does his best in his every role worth appreciation and respect.
So why bother to call others just because you don't like what their opinion is when the actor himself has never has issue with peoples opinions or criticism on his acting. It is different with when someone insulting him or defaming him without grounds.
my father was born in 1964 so is it weird to have a crush on him? 😠it kinda feels illegal lmao
Ikr, feel the same here. What's left to feel is respect and great admiration for the skill and persona. Wish him good health and success and happiness with his family though.
Poorly written character of FL. The trope of strong FL seeking justice? She was already a police officer when her brother died, and went to US means she left police force, and she could comeback again being a leutenant team leader? She demanded her brother to believe her more than the official profiler abd his own professioanal stance on a case just because she is his sister and then her persistent prejudice filled against ML is just unprofessional. She doesn't have a brain of being detective as she didn't seem to know how to investigate a case from indentent objective stance, i.e being professiobal detective. All she did was breaking the laws and using laws to blackmail ML and has the audacity to tell him, she doesn't like his way if doing things when he did all what he did with a very calculating well planned and thoughtful no matter how foolish it may seemed he got others to believe in him and had his way with them. While her being a detrctive only know how to stalk and being aggressive and the way she keeps using physical violence against ML is just upsetting and not funny at all. If this is ML character using violence to Fl character no matter it was for the sake of funny plot, there will be uproar of critics all over about how mysogynistic. She just like an extra to the story instead part of it due to we didn't see her acting like a true detective, everyone else seemed to have brain or contributing their skills into the story, and detectuves are enough, want a kicking ass character they have Soo Cheul. It was like ML and his team do all the thinking the planning and the things a police detective should be able to do. Wish they could make her character better but it just keep a meh to the very end. No hard feeling for the actress who played the character but she also supposed to be far younger than the ML as he was already a police officer when she was still like a teenager. But a grown up character looked even older than the ML. Ovetall the drama is enjoyable thanks to all other characters even the villain ones.
I don't get why fl is being criticized , you have look at context for fl behaviour.1. Ml was a role model for…
I think it is not the FL but the character she played was just badly written, the trope of strong independent woman was badly presented here. A woman detective who aggressively hit a civillian, stalking him, breaking and entering his property, she broke all the rules yet she demanded justice. ML was right she was prejudiced against him and even with all her breaking the law she couldn't figure it out that ML was actually framed and actually was doung everything to solve the case of her brother's murder not just to clear his name. Yet the way she forced him and she didn't even apologize to him for forcing him to relive the trauma he'd been trough only left a bad taste. Basically her character is an ugly trope and kind of insult to what a strong independent woman character should be. She was driven by personal disappointment turned grudge against ML when as a detective she shouldn't do so, she should be open minded knowing herself there's alot of corruption and know ML personally, she should have investigated the possibility of he was braing framed but she didn't, she could be rational with others but not with him, she treated him so poorly badly anf begrudingly. Abusive towards him. If we got ML doing this, the whole internet with going insane with criticism of mysoginist, but when women portrayed in this kind of character, being abusive somehow it was a strong kicking ass woman, this is what I think people are disappointed with. She shouldn't be portrayed as police detective when, maybe a independent detective or spy or whatnot but to write her as someone seeking justice but full of prejudices musunderstanding to an extreme of physical abuse, stalking, breaking and entering when she's an active duty police detective really upsetting. Yet no hard feelimg for the actress who played the character, she played her character well, even though it is a bit strange she supposed to be far younger than ML but well the ML looks younger than her.
Jang Hyung Min seemed to have a super power beside being super serial killer. He fell down from such a height, badly injured his head, in comatose, and he woke up from all that fine and no problem with his brain after surgery, and even when he had serious leg injure, he could vanish super quick from the chase of two healthy young detectives, he survived all serious near death experience and get back without any physical disability let alone brain injury. When Eun Sun Jae was beaten in the head had to go through brain surgery she had to lost her memoey or so she claimed to have parts of her brain removed. Yet she could remember things clearly in the end also is super weird.
Eun Sung Jo, had to blame Woo Tae Seok even she knew what he had been through, living in guilt, and even lost his wife in the process. The one mistake he made was to protect his sister, and his siater one mistake was reporting to police. And they have been living in guilt, it wasn't Tae Sok fault that the other corrupted detective made Hyung Min encountered Seowol face to face, Tae Seok had done his best to keep an eye on her and her mother and yes he failed but he had to live woth guilt for years trying to catch Hyung Min and protected Sun Jae and his sister too, like not enough punishment already? Was it his fault? What we might miss, this moral question, Seun Jae positioned herself as victim.of betrayal of others, but those people made their decision and felt guilt about their decision, but she never asked herself that same question, she made the same decision to keep herself alive by stabbing her own friend made herself an accomplice to keep herself alive. Even when her friend pleaded to be saved, she decided to stab her to save her own self, Tae Seok and his sister made the same decision, but they have to go through hell all their lives? And she's the victim everyone should felt guilty about? What about her murdered friend? The one she had to kill in order to live? She didn't live to feel guilty about her, when the others actually did live in guilt for failing her. Like they were the only ones did the grave sin when she didn't commit the same. Her mother's deatg wasn't their fault, it was the fault of the murderer alone. They were victims, but she wanted them tormented when she would just kill the ones who actually did her wrong without an ounce of guilt. Like it is not enough these people tormented the guilt and tried to right the wrong for her. Tae Seok said it to her it wasn't her alone going through terrible times, he was too and even his sister said she died 13 years ago feeling guilty betraying her. And she had to keep make it hell for them and not focusing on the persons who actually did her and them wrong. She became super smart etc after brain surgery? So brave even cunning and even became murderer herself and she had to blame others for making herself a monster. She made herself a monster, she made that choice, made that decision herself, but apparently others have to take responsible for that too. I didn't know but trying to make a victim of someone who made the same decision to survive and putting others to be wrong for makimg the same decision doesn't sit right in my mind.
Not to mention Eun Sun Jar could go around to the evidence room to steal evidence, like it is open for everyone to come into such sensitive and protected part of police office is also make no sense. She jist walked in there without passing any police guarding the room. If she was that super smart, she could have lured that Hyung Min the first time she realised he was the serial killer, but she apparently let him killed others and she only did the reporting. But she suddenly also very on action when he came for her. Like oh well, she supposed to be that smart but not that smart, brain surgery. I never knew someone losing part of her brain become.so highly functioning physically. But apparently it makes her from a coward not knowing what to do to become smart fearless and physically able to do things. My friend had a stroke and during surgery a very small part of his brain was being cut out, he became bedridden lost his ability to speak and his mobility. But this drama make somehow make it like it has no effect at all which is makr it lost its credibility at all. Though it depends on part of the brain being removed or endure surgery, it always have physical effect. One are never the same physically after a brain surgery.
And it just so typical the police detectives portrayal the good and the bad cops like in many Kdramas which make this drama felt bland despite the great acting of all involved. Having said all that, it's still an okay drama to watch.
She's not annoying, she's just being a lawyer with a background of being prosecutor. Her backstory is interesting,…
Lol i know, lol, her character was made so, she was driven by selfish revenge so she acted by her own will and she learned the hard way in later episode indeed her revenge didn't bring her any resolution and she admitted her mistake indeed and didn't want the young detective goes down the same path she chose before. And yea lawyer always full of tricks and you can never know what will they do or side with. She told that young detective to not trust her because she could make unexpected decisions/choices that othets might not like. That makes her character less annoying for me. She's strong minded, determined, have her own minds not easily swayed or intimidated by others, quick thinker as well, imho as annoyed as she appeared, she's one of few natural not overexagerrating characterisation of smart and strong minded FL in Kdramas.
Naw the FL is so annoying in my opinion. She just gets on my nerves and I can’t stand her. Would be better if…
She's not annoying, she's just being a lawyer with a background of being prosecutor. Her backstory is interesting, there are many other annoying FL characters in many others KDramas indeed, but I think her character isn't annoying at all. Here the young police officer character which abit annoying but it is also part of his characterisation, and he has his own backstory for being like that. If you watched othet Kdramas of the like you'll find even more annoying unecessary FL /ML characters that will make you want to drop the drama despite the story being good, trust me. Lol. FL here is pretty much acceptable character.
IT WAS NOT DETECTIVE/REPORTER SUPPORTING TAG OF DRAMA BUT COMPLETELY EMOTIONAL & REVENGE ORIENTED DRAMA....STUPID…
Actually there were detectives and reporters supporting roles in this drama. And if you pay attention, Sibaek wanted to bring justice through court, he seeked justice for his dead father and sister, also for her mother who suffered mentally. He said he went to police and reporters abd no one listened to him. And the incumbent judge was the prosecutor who was paid by Jang senior to put his father in jail. He asked for retrial before the statue of limitation ecpired, even it wasn't granted back then, it is finally granted in end of last episode. The revenge wasn't his goal, he said that himself when interrogated by the detective, he wanted to bring everyone involved to justice by law and for them to be punished by law, the reason he became a lawyer.
The one doung revenge was his brother in law, Shi Minsik, he used the very same person who apparently had alcohol dementia after got out of jail, to kill his past cohorts. And he ultimately killed Jang senior for his "no regret" for his crimes and his audacity for telling him the only regret was "he didn't kill all them he considered vermins." He just wanted apology from everyone involved in causing him and his wife's family painful suffering. And he was ready to pay for his crime for plotting and instigating Lee Pilho to murder his past colleagues. But he chose to die to bring Jang Gido to justice.
So this is not really about revenge or anything, this is about corruption and police britality exploitation and manipulation. And how the leads tried to set things straight throgh legal means instead of revenge. And they did it in the end. As it all started with labours movement in that factory, that lead to the sexual assault to Sibaek sister and the sequence of her father wrongful arrest, her mother was driven to mental torture losing her memory. The murder of Chakhee's grandmother, etc. People directly affected by it definitely wanted revenge, when the judicial system was being manipulated by people with power for covering up their crimes instead of doing justice. The only way to restoring it is to directly use the very same people to reveal their own crimes, and Minshik did that by using that ex-cop with dementia to kill the people.responsible for his situation, and it actuallu pave way for Siabaek and eventually Chakhee to unravel the truth.
It is quite clever storyline and though it is predictable it is not boring, because eventhough they can only seek justice for Sibaek's father, but at leasy thry got justice system to work.properly in the end. That's I think what this drama is about.
The only let down on this is the unecessary romance between Seol and Ho Gae. She didn't get that much air time in S2 and when she apperaed her scenes were almost forced, like how on earth a paramedic from firestations had to be involved in police investigation and present in autopsy etc. She supposed to be doing her own job with firestations, her air time not so much and she always appear here and there just to be victim to be saved over and over where her role isn't that significant at all. At least she was better presented in S1. And all the scenes her with her foster mother isn't necessary at all when we supposed to have more of background story of Do Jin, Do Ha and even the villain, the main villain just appear out of nowhere in last few episodes.
It would be better if they stay as partners or whatever romance there is remain subtle. Understood that they have to kill Do Jin character to show a dedicated and self-sacfrificing a firefighter is. And it gives you that vibe of utmost respect for them men and women who dedicated their lives to serve and save other people despite the risk of their own lives.
Nevertheless this drama is superb acting for all the NFS, Police/Detectives, Firefighers joint cooperation. Respect to all the actors and actresses for stellar performances and everyone involved in this drama.
There have been some mawkish/reactionary notes throughout the drama, but the stillbirth case in ep. 9 really takes…
The girl is indeed a victim of domestic abuse (parental ultra strict education pressure on children is also a form of abuse). The girl needed help definitely. What this episode is trying to portray here is how detective Jin is trying to figure out what actually happened to her and why she did what she did. In the end he could relate to her and tried to talk it out with her person to person and she did admitted her wrong to him related to the baby and she even wanted to know what the baby's gender, but he gave her the best answer. She wasn't being villainizing as she was considered victim.
But being a victim didn't erased the wrongdoings. And what she did was wrong, to abandon the dead baby to take revenge on her mother. It means she used the baby as a tool for her revenge. Wrong choice come out of a very sad circumstance but still it is wrong choice that she at the end felt guilty of.
If you watched it carefully she made all the wrong choices due to her own pressure by her parents. She used the student to help her to get good grades (sleeping with him without safety measure), then later on, she rejected him that lead to him stress, his grades plummeted and he committed suicide. Then after that out of guilt she decided to take revenge on everyone she deemed to be guilty, went to sleep with the principle to blackmail him knowing she was pregnant. And her classmates who she saw as her competitors, and also bullyung her own brother. That's the worst effect misguided parental pressure can be to a child. Especially in a very competitive environment like in SK, where in many upper class families treating marriage and childten as business investment. It is sad reality.
I think this episode is about that. And I really don't like the way Seol treating her, she should have listened to Do Jin, not to be too invested emotionally with victims as it is the rule for them for them to be able to work efficiently. She inserted herself in that situation, then instead of trying to undersfand the girl's situation as she did first time with her, when she knew she abandoned the baby she just left. She volunteered to get into that investigation room, when she is not her guardian, not a detective or not even a doctor/psycholigist who have the expertise in dealing with troubled children, she left that girl there half surprised of her changwd behavior which is really upsetting for me, her trauma has nothing to do with the girl situation.
I really love the way detective Jin handled it. He told her it is not her fault it is her parents and the adults fault. And he gave her good friendly advice. But it just shocked me that Seol as a woman couldn't even try to understand because of her own trauma. She couldn't even try to understand the physical and emotional pain the girl had to go through giving birth alone by herself and her fear and her anguish, and yes she made mistake abandoning the baby in that manner. But Seol's attitude was not just unprofessional but also very upsetting from a woman's perspective. She shouldn't be emotionally invested if she couldm't put her feet in the shoes of the victim.
The episode should at least ended with the girl get a help she needed, a support she needed but yes I think from her talk with det. Jin she acknowledge her wrong and she felt guilty about the baby and at least Det. Jin gave her that chance...telling her, he will tell the gender of the baby if she grow up and being able to make responsible choice. So, this is actually about mental pressure by parents, teachers and society in general in young people, especially since early age could lead to many sad situations.
I want to ask some opinion, who think that the second season for this drama. I think maybe based from epilog.
I don't think so. The epilogue only to show us, since he's back in 1988 he will be able to catch that Hyun Suk guy, since he knew from his 2018 that he wasn't dead at all. So back in 1988 thay Hyun Suk called him to show to Tae Joo he was alive, to which Tae Joo smirked as he knew he's alive and since this is his new reality, he will catch him in this reality for sure. So I don't think there will be second season, though we know this is adaptatioj from British version that have second season to it. But it is quite different since in British version the Ml was actually died and was in a purgatory-like reality for polices. When Korean version he was in a kind of inception (deep dreams) or living in his subconscioussness.
He probably braindead since his first accident. He never wakes up from his comatose. When he "dreamed" about waking up from comatose, he thought the surgery went well which is impossoble. He was shot in the head, then being hit by a car, with majot brain damage. Remember he could wake up from coma and walk right after he woke up from the surgery which is impossible with such major brain surgery. He was still in another "dream" back to 2018 to solve the case and settle things down with his family and his ex. When he realised that he couldn't feel a thing, he knew from his other "dream" when he was confused of what is reality or not, officer Yoon told him, only if he's dead that he couldn't feel a thing. In that back to 2018 he couldn't feel a thing, he even felt his own heartbeat before decided to jump off the roof. He knew by that he was brain dead and he could only chose the "reality" he wanted to be in which is in 1988. To be save his friends and to catch Hyun Suk as from his 2018 "dream" he knew Hyunsuk was alive due to Olympic and another serial killing case, so government pushed that case to be closed to avoid any issies. So back to 1988 is his only chance to catch Hyun Suk again, thus the epilogue he was smirking when he got a call from Hyun Suk.
I guess he chose to believe which dream should be his "reality" where he felt alive and happy. And that is in 1988. But technically he's brain dead. He couldn't be dead because if he's dead he wouldn't be having that subconscous "dream/reality".
There is no news update on S3, the director resigned. And we will be left hanging with frustration for a very long time it seems. And we probably will never get to knows whatever happened to that wicked Prosecutor and Dr. Jang Cheol and Prosecutor Do.
Well lets just hope someone will pick this up and give us Season 3.
This is quite good because every one ib the team gets their air time, not just focusing on the main leads. Everyone in the team and their roles get the proper air time makimg thid drama true to its titles. It is team work, partners for justice indeed.
I have a few gripes with this show1. The female detective was useless. She didn't tell anyone about anything.…
Agree that she just went solo and not even have to answer for that, she keeps telling the detectives that she will explain later which she never did until the very end. She coiuld have saved everyone's time catching Kyung Min and restrain Jong Suk of she just share her findings with the detectives. She knew Jong Suk isn't just not fit mentally, something is terribly wring with him, she just let him go even after she had found the truth. She found the truth but she kept it to herself and the person shs went to is prosecutor while knowing well she should at least give the police heads up so they don't look like dumb fools running here and there to no avail and even keep letting Jong Suk leave with Kyung Min. It is not that she's useless, she found out the truth herself but her character is poorly written or maybe thats just how her character is in the book.
2. They all indeed looking for him, but that FL detective figured it out things decided to go solo as always. Her inability to share info in teamwork makes the police look like a joke indeed.
This drama could do better, the acting is superb, but the story and characterisation of each character are not impressive. It is like a fail attempt to make a female sherlock-like detective story. Alcohol by any means never a brain-ignition thing, the opposite is true, makes one can think properly let alone make a good plan or judgement besides affecting physical balance and ability to speak coherently.
And the fact that K isn't just depicted as being able to make such an elaborate plans on her own, and apparently physically strong than anyone else eben the males who are physically bigger and stronger than her, Kyungyi and Je Hee who were police officers all got easily tackled by her. And talking about her being so smart, she isn't that smart as she supposed to be, as she willingly let herself trapped by another villain to do her bidding, like she had no clear direction on what she did, she didn't even went to her aunt's funeral to show respect. She felt guilt at one point, and acknowledge that if she and her cohort should punish anyone that should include themselves, instead she went on rampage on random murder of "bad people" in her own judgment. Her character is not developed at all, just like that petty murderer through and through, and no essence of justice in her action except she murdered them who she judged as bad people and even making the victims into her accomplices.
And Kyungyi is no better, we didn't see the briliance of her character at all as she just posed as someone suspicious of anything and anyone, but she kept failing to prevent K from her killingspree, when she supposed to be intelligent. Only in the last episode we saw she actually planned something. And by the way, the one do the thinkings were her subordinates. She was just there looking at things suspiciously but nothing develop from that. And she used to be police but got easily tackled by K who apparently know how to fight better than anyone else. Her leg injury also magically healed in days and she could walk propery and able to fight instantly. Like wow.
And the worst of it all, even they have chances to prove K is a serial killer, no police involvement at all in every incidents like really no one shows up to investigate murder or anyone. It is unrealistic and at times make no sense at all.
The only thing worthy is the acting and OST. Brilliant acting and great OST.
The casts are great. Both ML delivered such outstanding performance.
One thing Oh Taek did that really blood boiling is he witnessed how brutal and coldblooded Geum Hyuk Soo was, he should have listened to the man from the trunk, to not trusting GHS, and so did HSK the woman whose son was murdered. He shouldn't let the lady alone in that barn, when he asked for help. He at least could tell the lady yo hide and make no noise. He flee the scene with her phone. And then he should have known it, when GHS called him with hisnown daughter phone, he should have guessed how GHS could unlocked he saw the man have fingers of peoole he killed. He should have known that his daughter have already dead. When the lady's police son's struggled with GHS, and the gun fell, he just stood there. He could just picked up the gun and tried to stop the struggle and disabled GHS. He just stood there and let GHS killed the son of the womab who helped him. Trusting the murderer is keeping his daughter alive. He could prevented that murder.
But then I think it is how this drama trying to tell us how evil can shake a man's mind, how exploitative and manipulative it can be. And how a parent no matter what will always hold on to that hope that their children are alive even when they know the possibility of it is zero. So glad that even Oh Taek is filled with rage and vengeanceful, he didn't turn evil at the very last. He paid for his wrongs and then freed from his tormenting feeling og guilt and anger. And satisfying ending for GHS. Waiting for his execution, disabled, and can't do anything his way. He maybe couldn't feel physical pain or fear, but being disabled and can"t do nothing, couldn't channelung his murderous desires is even more tormenting. He has all those thoughts but he's incapable to make it all happen is more tormenting than any physical pain, and fears.
Everyone saying they liked the first episode but grew bored by the subsequent ones is just outing themselves as…
This drama is excellent and unique because it doesn't focus on the crimes itself but how the individuals involved in the story, their pain, despair and struggles dealing with their emotion and thoughts and how they come to term with all the complexity if their situatiion. This is the story about friendship between same generation and different generation. I really love it and despite everyone's complain avout slow pace for me the pace is just fine. Watched it second time and it still touches my heart seeing the warm friendship, forgiveness and how to move on and be better.
And imho the focus is just different comparing to Beyond Evil or Flower of Evil. I love Beyond Evil because it touches on complex relationships as well in a community. But the main focus there is how someone would go to an extreme (what we see as over-react or exagerrate) to prove his innocence and how the community reacted to "outsiders", and how the blacksheep of the community is treated, yet he has his friends who'd be there and watch each other's back. And the peculiar way of the 2 ML relations from "enemy" to "friends". It is another excellent drama imho. As for Flower of Evil, it is also have different focus on family, husband-wife relationship. I mean it is not as great as the other two but It is worth the watch I guess.
Well imho the three are great dramas, worth the watch.
+The evil head nurse and the other fellow nurse and that guard, why should give them the air time when they weren't being at lead capturrd with their operations.
It is different with when someone insulting him or defaming him without grounds.
disappointed with.
When Korean version he was in a kind of inception (deep dreams) or living in his subconscioussness.
Well lets just hope someone will pick this up and give us Season 3.
This is quite good because every one ib the team gets their air time, not just focusing on the main leads. Everyone in the team and their roles get the proper air time makimg thid drama true to its titles. It is team work, partners for justice indeed.
2. They all indeed looking for him, but that FL detective figured it out things decided to go solo as always. Her inability to share info in teamwork makes the police look like a joke indeed.
