Yes, it kind of confusing indeed when the writer decided to not finishing it, then started another sequel. It is a roller coaster of a story but not a boring one. I enjoy all the adaptation. And it is so good to see this one, get to see ZQ on screen alot too not just Wuxie and Fatty Wang, the chaos duo lol. The most fun Wuxie and Fatty too.

It is called heavenly gifts, it happened when he has an urge to do something or a mission, his episodic memories will be wiped out leaving only his technical memories (his skill and abilities). Whenever he went to tomb that he left marks, so he'll know he's been there before and sometimes he only get a feeling about places and people. He once severly injured which triggering that heavenly gift to kick off (during mystic nine era I think) wiping his memory clean.

I think it has something to do with his blood and also related to the Ultimate. Maybe heavenly gift is a mechanism, could be a defense mechanism. Since he lived a long life, and to remember all those memories might affecting him. Like to prevent PSTD or something. But no one knows yet.

Yes they were Haike and his sis in that past story. And Zhang family could live long and aged slowly, especially ZQ. But no they are not immortals.

Not all Zhangs are bad. Zhang Haike is ZQ old friend, though Wuxie and Fatty couldn't read the real motive why his Zhang faction from Hongkong came for Wuxie but he still address ZQ as patriarch/clan leader.

As for his sister she's indees tried to kill Wuxie and Fatty, she told Wuxie she's not a Zhang and that Zhangs wouldn't help wuxie (she's either stating a fact or warned Wuxie against Zhang Haike no kne knows). We can't know who she really is, whether she took over the real Zhang Haixing or she's a Wang or someone who had beef with Zhang and wanted to take revenge by infiltrating them, the novel basically a hang, unfinished.

Zhangs are divided, but there are good Zhangs on both sides.

Totally agree with casting Cha Ming Hao, even they casted differe t Wu Xie (which all great in playing Wuxie), also for Xiao Ge, but Fatty Wang seemed to be made for Cha Ming Hao. To change all main characters will definitely give a disconnection vibe to previous series.

You talk like KKH is a demigod. No he's just a cruel gsng member who think he's in control of everything, but he's not all powerful. He couldn't just go and squeeze and kill people without being afraid getting caught and being sent to rot in jail. He has fear and he act like that to intimidate only, show off power doesn't mean he's all powerful. Idk if this drama will follow it's american adaptation but in that one he ended up lame, almost killed by his father in law by the trick pulled by his wife. And spent the rest of life hospitalosed while his father in law was sent to jail for his murder attempt and his wife took over his kingdom. He's a fragile man hind behin all those cruel and coldness look of him. He 's a broken man the day his son died. This is not about who is more powerful and other, because in the end these evils work together to keep covering up their crimes right and left.

The fact the Judge might seem like soft and gentle person but he has power and he has control over sotuation, he like a true judge, make his own judgment by himself whether he will go on with the coveruo forever or to end it and surrender himself.to the law. Even they keep threathening to kill him, they can't and he knew they won't.. He decides his own fate to go to jail or being killed. Talking abiut power that is judge is more powerful in that sense.

YS already blackmailed her with "after what I did to save your father" and she was terrified to find out SY was a murderer and in such situation she just told her you'll get arrested as to tell her you'll not get away with your crimes.

And she was lied to about YS stepmom, yes she was abusive in her treatment of YS, she thought it is the best way to help her because she's a shaman since medicine didn't help her at all. SY believed YS was abused and even wish she could get away from home and escaped her step-mother what SY didn't know YS never intented to leave her house, she didn't want it to be sold to strangers. And all those things happened to her only triggers her even worse. She changed from nice good friend to terrible person in a split second when she didn't get what she wanted from others who didn't know the actual relation between her and the step-mom.

She asked SY nicely then started to change her attitude when she didn't answer her call when she went out with her family. SY was under emotional pressure to tell her, she didn't expect would go so far as to kill someone. In her mind YS only wanted to escape her step-mom and the house. And she couldn't do anything anyway to change things in the present time, while it is YS who has that power to change things in the past and it is only YS able to make the call.
SY can only modify her story and tell YS to trap YS in incident SY learned happened near YS home at the time YS wanted her answer based on the news she found on internet.

SY just ordinary girl under drastic and extreme change of situation which out of her control, all she could say to YS is that, you will be arrested. She didn't know that YS would suddenly become murderous person like that. And she couldn't ask her old younger self or anyone for that matter because YS could do anything unexpected.

YS step-mom was not evil though her method of excorcism is violent but not to cause any damage in her body the fact YS was fine physically but already beyond help.mentally. her step-mom did that because YS hurt that minimarket girl who was nice to her and gave her things to make her feel good, but when she didn't answer her call, she hurt thay girl. She's just like that disturbing towards people who she asked for help.

Always thorough with his investigation and not giving up on overpass cases, doesn't justify his violent and overboatd judgmental attitude.

I think they made changed on some characters roles and narrative to suit SK setting.

And no it is unrealistic because the time setting is in 2023, where police isn't allowed to use force or beating up cooperative suspect, and tbh ML is actually a free-man now and in any case he's not to be treated like a suspect but a witness since he's the one found the body with his own effort not police. Police in anyway can't use violence on civilian or witness, but the detective just hell bent on being nonsensical violent. He didn't do his homework first but just get along with everyone being bias and judgmental toward ML because he's branded a mirderer, serving his time and all. Boasted about he knew a criminal when he sees one but he got ML wrong, not only ML not resting all the hostility dorected at him, though he hinself so conflicted feeling guilty towards his dead friends, putting through his parents in such painful situation, and not remembering a thing about the day of murder, he's struggling yet not giving up on his dead friends too, he wanted to know the truth even it means he had to face all hostility and it's him against the world.


I find it disturbing to keep painting police detective in this manner. The detective keep pressing and harshly demanded ML to remember (judging him all criminal will say they don't remember this and that) while seeing this man is trying so hard to find his track of the day of the murder, everyone violently rejected him) he demanded ML to remember and find the bodies and he will find the culprit who assaulted his mother. But ML found the man himself but he still not willing to listen to him after making all those demands to ML. He demanded him to find the bodies when ML found the body he went to hit and even threathening to kill ML and tell everyone to go because ML might try to get rid of the evidence and might do something to the young lady? ML if he's a murderer he served his time, he has no reason to stay thete whete everyone hated him and treating him like trash, he could just leave and move on with his life. But he didn't, he stayed inspite all what they did to him and his family he stayed to find his dead friends on his own when everyone keep demanding him.to find the bodies but not being helpful at all. He's all alone back then and now. No one listened to him nor helping him to remember whatever they accused him of lying. Theit only thjng to make someone remember is "beating that person to a pulp". Police could use professional help in such matter when someone is not remembering a thing, again there is nothing to remember though because he was blacked out and when he was arrested he was in that state, passed out. Nothing to remember, but at least they could help him remember things prior to him getting drunk and blacked out. But nothing is done. He was arrested accused and condemned based on circumstancial evidence and witness statements which not witnessing him doinh the
crime at all. The detective only check on the report on the news how ML was arrested to the trial process which took less than 3 months. He didn't even bother to check on investigation files. And that also after he got confused when ML pleaded with him to find the real killer. If ML is murdere why bother stay and wanting to find the bodies and wanting to find what happened if he could just walk away and move on with his life he had served his time afterall. But the detective just not getting it but just like everyone keep being hostile.

The young girl actually has more common sense than the detective. She was suspicious of ML but not hostile she ask him questions out of curiousity and listen to his answers, she wonders why he still there while he could just leave and listen to his reasons why he has to stay, while evetyone wanted him and his mother to leave for all the wrong reasons.

As detective he at least would give him that chance to explain himself and listen to his side of story, and as police it is in their nature of the job to be more interested in what the criminal says, whether lies or truth they have to listen first before cross-checking those stories. But he just not wanting to listen at all but act like a thug gangster.

She supposedly being this smart and all about justice and people's rights, but all she did was hanging around the crown prince and do nothing noteworthy of her good at investigating, the only thing she solved was that four death by the shaman, that also with the help of crown prince and the rest of it, she's just there staying with the crown prince waitinh for something to materialised and all her investigation is just about running here and there for no result and someone elses had to figure out things for them, especially that son of the prime minister. All she and crown prince did was sticking together to "develop" their feelinga for each other.

I reallly hate it when the case of that child stole food and accidently broke the porcelain of minister of justice. She's supposed to be all about people and that was a child got beaten up and kicked in public the one who actually stepped up was her maid and her master, she actually tried to block crown prince to help the kid, just because super nonsene about oh the minister will make it an excuse to nitpick about crown prince secretly went out the palace, when it is like crown prince daily reality being under scrutiny, and whatever he does those villains always find something to nitpick on him and he had even worse than that beinh accused of killing his own brother, but that's all she
worried about and she just stood there, so much for a heroine for justice. And it was the crown prince who gave money to the kid for medicine for his sister, and then paid for their daily food in advance and the maid's master also offer his help. Like everyone is doing something , except her, she's sole existence is just to stay close to crown prince to be his messenger and his object of love and affection which she returned kindly.

And I really hate the two of them all lovey dovey in front of her own fiance she once was so madly in love with and so excited to be married to and even said since the letter of marrigae acceptance being exchanved and placed on the family shrine means she's married already to SML. But then both of them not just keeping that poor SML in the dark about her identity and keep him aside, and not even allowed him to know what's actually going on with her while the talk about noble things, loyalty and trust, they knew this man is heartbroken, his loyalty being questioned by crown prince, and he had to endure the humiliation and crazy gossip about his marriage failire and even crown prince and fl herself positioned herself to be at odd wth sml on that shaman case, still that man so faithfully helped them work with them and his fiancee is right there under his nose pretenting to be someone else.

I hate that episode when they lost crown prince as she went crazy and in front of his fiance she owed huge explanation, boasted about she and crown prince promised to protect each other and how she couldn't live without crown prince and no matter what she had to find and protect him, let this man to watch her going crazy about crown prince, and all lobey dovey when crown prince awake from his passing out, holding hands, lay her head on his chest for the SML to see and confused. She said to crown prince it must be so painful to lose someone you love, but she didn't care at all about the SML's feeling when both them aware of it. They just talk about their own feelings.

The crown prince shamelessly feel jealous, it was his own best friend fiancee, on paper it is his wife, and he kept the married woman basically to himself and the man himself told him no matter what even if FL really immoral for killing her family, even it is true, since she is his woman he has to protect her, it is her responsibility. But no crown prince still keep the man in the dark while keeping his woman for himself in the name of protecting his master daughter. No has no right because the woman already someone else's wife on paper and it is her man's duty to protect her not him. And the FL also all about love and trust but the person she opened up to is another man not her fiance. She and crown prince basically creating a circumstance for themselves to fall in love with each other. How about decency and noble things they boasted about? It is ot just cheating and downright immoral for that era. I don't understand how many viewers cheered on their romance both of them i found despicable for doing that to SML, theor love bloom from deception and betrayal of SML and yet they expect him to be their loyal friend, and the only decent man here is SML he's faithful and even gave her up for crown prince. After all the woman ofc so easily switch her heart to crown prince not long after her family demise because she just go to him and in short time it is all about him for her and vice versa.

I think why the writer not giving that happy ever after they got married and she became queen like viewers expect it to be because of that , crown prince keep someone else's woman as his eunuch and they both shamelessly all lovey dovey in front of the very man she supposed to be with. Because in that time setting, it is a grave sin and the crown prince could get dethroned for such immoral act. That is why she left and how they made the man to give up on her out of his good heart. Dang, your best friend steal your woman, they both keep hanging around you and you just be ok, they love each other, so be it, and i let her go for her true love. That's nonsense and in that time setting only the kind can annulled the marriage or bethrotal. But it's not happening in the drama but the man gave up the woman. And all trying to paint their love grow so naturally is even more detestable for me because that's coveting and adultery for that day moral standard and it still is the same to this day.

It is so highly polished cheating and betrayal thrown at us as some good romance, noble love. And outdated same old same old love triangle trope which is painfully boring to watch in many historical dramas, the writer should do better with modifying or changing the story-line into something more make sense and sensible to watch.

Though this is an adaptation from a novel, the writer should at least make an effort to break free from the same old same old love triangle trop which is painfully boring now to watch, and imho a higlhly polished betrayal which tried to paint ML and FL love was naturally grows and it something noble and they so deserve each other as true lovers with true love.

ML and FL all noble talks about loyalty and trust, demanding that from SML but then they were the ones keeping him in the dark about what happened, and pretenging FL as someone else who spent most of his time with ML, while the noble doubtful ML ordering SML do this and that which he faithfully followed not just because he is his subject but also out of his loyalty toward him as a friend, his true friend. And in ML mind it is FL the only one he can trust, but then upon something he didn't properly investigated kicked her out in anger and then almost like old-ancient royal stalker wantinh to know her whereabouts and if she's ok.

And he dared to question SML loyalty and if he'a trustworthy just because he didn't bring the compass at the first time and told him that he didn't find any clue yet. Well even SML was reprimanded by his father about that, and it is just natural reaction on his part he didn't do it because he tried to hide it from him, he just stalled time to check with his fatjer first the compass belong to him so he could be prepared before reporting it to him. Because it is natural for a son to be worried about things related to his parents, to be protective. His father set his mind straight before telling him the compass he found wasn't his, by telling him, he is first is the subject of the king and country and at home he is the son of his father. But oh he axcused him of lying and how can he be a trustworthy while he is the one who knowing full well this man is heartbroken of losing his bethroted, his reputation is tarnished being shamed with rumors of his bethroted after murdering her family and ran away witj another man and being killed in the process. But ML and FL keep him in the dark while pretending FL is someone else and both them spending time together while lettinh this man struggled with his dillema.. When both ML and FL all love blooming, and they even had him investigted things separately, ask for working together and this man is faithfully being friend and tried his best to prove it to ML his loyalty. But both them all doing their own thing, keeping all the investigation about her family murder and her disappearance from him, letting him believed she's dead or in hiding while she walk around him, poking him with questions about if he's believing her and waiting for her? And go back to her prince and demand his trust and explained everything to him. It's just make no sense and downright insulting this man's pride as a man who deserve her explanation and her trust. It is her herself who told ML that it was love at first sight when they were younger, and when she knew she is bethroted to him, she's so happy and so expecting to be married to him soon, and all is bed of roses awaiting, even said to her maid that she believed him to be decent man who woll treat her maid as a sister because she's important to her like sister. All talk about trusting and loving this man. But instead of after all the time she finally get to meet him even in disguise as eunuch, she witnessed this man's upright characters and despite his personal struggle he tried his best.

And worse SML came to ML to ask about why he's the one ivestigating his fiancee's family case and he lied to him too, not wanting him to be involved in that and he had to just wait for her to comeback to him if she wills. He has every right to be involved in the investigation because his family reputation was dragged into the mood by that case too. ML started to regret his kicking our FL and his telling how he will never believed in FL again because of the supposed suicide letter by a man who claimed to be FL's lover (out of jealousy) when he asked SML if he believes FL and he said he believes her and even if she was accused of being immoral and murderer and even it is true, because on she is his bethroted and basically on paper she's already his wife (exactly what FL also said), now that she is his woman, it is his responsibility to protect her. And both them know he was not just waiting but also looking for her. ML hide that part talk from FL but act all jealous at polo games.

In just few months FL already had a change of heart and leaning toward ML and act as of SML is a yesterday story for FL and she just wished him well and she didn't feel an ounce of guilt and not even think she owed the man explanation and clarity and closure if her heart is now belong to another man. Despite the story is polished as if her love for ML and vice versa grow naturally because they spent time together and grow close and so on and on, it was all the time and chance she denied her own fiance, he's around them like a fool broken hearted man and they just let it be and oh well now she's not sure if she ever loved SML and her heart started to beat for ML.

FL betrayed SML and ML royally coveting his own best friend's woman. They both creating their circumstance for their love to bloom by keeping SML in the dark about her when she keeps hanging around in private and in public with ML an in many occassion SML is present and not knowing a thing. Their love bloom out of their deception toward SML and at the cost of his genuine love. And oh well let's get along well with SML as friends so the stoy will go as he will be all understanding and give up on FL and even give the blessing and encouraging ML to pursue FL for he so deserve her. Like man this is a cheating and betrayal but made to appear as a noble love story. Even disgusting imho to make a teenager princess to have crush on SML so FL had good excuse to let go of him and so on. While the man ended up giving her up for his best friend and just be alone.

As much as it appear to be beautiful romanxe of ML and FL, this is really ugly story of coveting your best friend's woman and a woman who betray her man in the most subtle way. Made them both immoral in those days moral values and social norm but also hypocrites who talk about trust and loyalty but for themselves but not applied to the poor man.

The writer at least if wanting to keep with triangle love story, at least modified the story that will actually fair and just for SML, and af least create a story where the wedding is annuled by king, so ML and FL could have good premise for their romance. Or something that more appealing and make good sense.

Tbh so not like this fiction historical heart wrenching nonsese of love triangle trope like this it appears good and noble but when you think about it is anything but good and make no sense and against oir good conscience. Well it is just my personal opinion. And rhe whole.saga about revenge of the Song is nothing but ordinary and common theme despite the novel tried to make three way conflict groups.

Yes I know, he will. But it is too much imho for showing off his biased it seemed so overboard (it bothers me since it's almost typical show off in many kdrmas) since no matter what he's a police detective, head of a team, when he demanded his team to be thorough in their invesrigatiin, while he himself acted based on his emotion and bias is rather off. Even police had past trauma and yes had high sense of justice and whatnot, he's not good judge of character. He should have informed himself before recklessly and so frontal in his accusations. The restaurant writer, the friend of Su Oh who was with ML not a police and inexperience about such thing is better than the detective. She was suspiciois of him, and along with others initally called him murderer because he was convicted and jailed. But she started to be curious and have second thoughts of him when she actually met him, talk to him and accidently eavesdrop him saying he didn'f kill the girls. Though she maintained reasonable doubts, she's able to just ask him straighforwardly and want to listen to what he says. The detective should be like that of all people, yet he just like everyone else not willing to listen to him and keep cornering him with questions, and already have his own conclusion in mind when asking him this and that. Demanded him to remember and find the bodies but when he did he accused him to want to harm the girl and wanted to get rid of evidence? Like whatever ML is asked of and demanded of, he's always wrong and should be resented of.

But I know they made it this way so the twist will be more impacfful. Still it's too overboard and rather silly to me, well just a personal opinion though 😊

Since this is an adaptation, so there were modification in the story-line and some characters.

Still this is really crazy, how judgmental a police detective can be. The detective didn't even read and check the case file but just recklessly being judgemental toward ML Keep calling him names then pointinh a gun on his head when it is him who demanded him to find the body. Even think he would put the girl in danger and wanting to get rid of evidence? Who on earth just got out of jail, had his mother in coma because someone assaulted him, and keep feeling guilty for not being able to remember a thing, even ready to be attacked by the victim's family, would try to harm someone else when the girl also freely talking to police friend when she's with him.

Detective over-acting on that part is just meh. If he reads the case file before acting like mad dog, he would know it's impossible for a drunk man to kill two person at the same night, and be able to move one body secretly driving a car to another village, and then also burried another somewhere else. The police have said they have searched everywhere to no avail. And had nothing on his clothes, not a single drop of blood but when reconstructed (forced one) the murder act, he beat one of the victim, no traces of blood nor DNA. The only evidence is his shoes which is circumstancial and witness testimonies who basically didn't witness anything but told they weren't with him around the time of murder. Even the girl said he was at his home angry and drinking alone. How could he got drunk at home then drive to the warehouse and get drunk some more then murder the girls cleanly and drive somewhere to throw the bodies, in drunken state. Any good police detective would notice all the red flags in the investigation report and being suspicious of a cover up and messy investigation. Not to mention when interrogated he wasn't accompanied by his guardian or lawyer at all when he's a high school student and they refuse his parents to meet him.

Having said all that this is just started and have to brace myself of how the story develop. Hopefully it'll get interesting.

Well, not so. There will be twists and turns. But if you have read the novel then it is indeed predictable.

What a waste of great cast. The story is the most ridiculous to the point your common sense being insulted watching this nonsense of a fiction.

1. The owner of vacation home is presented as someone who looked like a well educated and respectable man. Without any experience at all he started the business all on his own? Like seriously not even a staff or hired people to do daily maintenance? And the setting is like in 2023 or something and you don't get identification for registration? Just words or a child's identification?

2. He himself a parent, when noticing something off, especially concerning a child, he just brushed off as an imagination? And even for the sake of plot. He watched the DC the woman leave alone without the child, and everything seemed suspicious in the house, and he didn't worry at all about the child, but brushed it off as his imagination? But keep thinkinh about the woman instead not about the child at all, that's crazy. And oh well for the sake of tbe story, a pretext for the woman to blackmail him even make no sense. No parent on that age would dismiss something like that especially when it is about a little child him being a good father who worry like crazy about his own adult daugther.

3. And even more crazy the second time the woman came, it is her own daughter accepted the woman but again without asking a name nor identification? And he just ah oh letting her into the house again, and again instead of reporting it to the police he decided to confront her telling her directly what he supposed to tell the police that he had the dc recors of her leavinh without the child. He instead acted like an old pervert man, watching the woman swimming and going through her stuffs. Doing all the nonsense.

4. And the whole thing the woman so easily gor him intimidated, with juat some weird smile and stare and some non-sense talk about oh I will kill your daughter and all. He tried to go to the police and super stupid how fast the woman can go and crash her car to his infron of police station and no investigation going on? Whole the chief of the station supposed to be this great detective. Nothing, he just sent to hospital, no signs of family being informed, no police report was made, and the woman just walk free like nothing happened. No identification taken again which is the most insulting non-sense.

4. The actriss doing her best to play the character but imho she overdo it and inconsistent with her character as a disturbed person. Because there are scenes where she actually act like normal person annoyed and upset by the disturbance and helpless in making it stop, for such character, who constantly looking with weird smile and stare, and able to intimidate the owner, and went so far acting weird in the laundry store taking pictures, went to crash her car, then she suddenly helpless with guests and again she reported to police again no name is taken.

They keep showing oh the detective first case as if it was a cold case, unsolved case but we didn't see her doing a thing that made her the "it", all is she thought about the.past and nothing noteworthy of being police doing an investigation.

And the way they try to make this in line with its namesake "frog" is just ridiculoua story like a man, owner of hiw own propeety, and business not knowing how to handle a guest? And the family in 2000 is so lame.that they never stand up for themselves but just accepted they being treated like criminals? They did nothing wrong and it just so happened a crime happened in their property, and that is the premise for them being bullied by society? That's nonsense. People.might talk about the crime but it is non-sense that they treated others who had nothinf to do with the crime.as.of they are criminals. And the fact they just made the family to.accept the situation for the sake of making tjem frog is beyond stupid.

Supposes to be a thrill a suspense but what you got is none but feeling annoyed and upset about the story. Lol.

If the detective Yang's father is adapted from a character.in the novel, he wasn't scared. He's just haunted with guilt. The one who pushes ml's mom did that with grudge toward a wrong person, and ml's mom is an innocent victim had to bear all the vicious resentment, hostility of social judgment and punishment. And everyone who made them so, involved one way or.the other with the crimes they got away with for so long scapgoating ML and sacrificing hia.family good reputation.
