I don't care who is the killer as long as it ain't the ML's play cousin, not only will that be too predictable,…
He isn't the killer definitely. But there's more.to him than meet in the eye, not just him but all the friends, including the seemingly faithful female friend. They all did ML and his family dirty. And it's.really.sad (well because I have read the novel lomg time ago)
If they follow the novel faithfully, it will be more than one murderer and though it happened at the same time but it happened separately. And you'd be surprise to know what the "play" cousin (they aren't, they are friends and ML called the father of his.friend "uncle" because ML's parents are close friends with the uncle.
So I'm very curious..For those who read the book..please tell me who killed those 2 girls?
In the novel, there were more than one murderer , one person kill one girl (ML's gf) was a man she had an affair with after breking up for no reason with ML the very day they supposed to meet (that explained he got drunk all by himself and blacked out) and the other girl (ML's ex gf who hated the other girl because he left her for.that.other girl,.to.make.ML jealous she axtually flirt with all hia friends and even had an affair with the father of one of the friends, while at the same time accused the other girl as being bad girl) was brutally raped then accidently killed, then many involved in her death, and cover up. While.the other one, her body was secretly kept by one of ML's friend. Everyone in that village is basically heinous village, as they viciously destroying the live of ML and his family, many of them are involved in the death of the two girls and the rest who aren't involves, they knew ML and his family are good people, but they need scapegoat since everyone is connected in one way or another.
The sad thing one of family's victim who bear grudge for ML not knowing at all what happenes to his daughter and the very people around him, who were vwry supportive of him, are the people who caused.all his pain and suffering, not to mention hia wife wasn't a good woman either (having an affair with her boss and the boss also had an affair with her daughter, it was crazy). But everyone do ML and his family dirty. The most.tragic for me is the friends. They all look nice and supportive of him, especially the girl who kept visiting him.in jail. Their betrayal of him is juat unimaginable painful.
She is the moment she told her manager/assistant that ML is her bf, while ML only sees her as a friend.
If they follow the novel, in the novel, the friend who seemingly always been there for him, acrually hid her own rotten nasty secret. In the novel she got aressted.
The thing is, she couldn't change things in the present time, the change can only be made in the past, and even…
The thing is, SY in the past is a little girl, and when she realised YS is a sick killer, it's too late, YS threathen to kill her father if she didn't tell her how she's arrested and what evidence used to catch her, SY actually tried to tricked her use the very internet you said she didn't use. She told tricked YS, told her about the knife, but she lied about where the knife was (she looked for a news about a gas leaked incident that caused a warehouse got blown up, she told YS to go there at around the day and time of the incident she read on internet. But unbeknown to her, when YS got there waiting, just few moments before the blast she went out. So she figured out SY tried to kill her and got so angry and just so happened SY father and SY herself came to her house to look for YS step-mom about the house purchase deal and not just that YS also found the knife. So no matter what she tried to do in her timeline, she couldn't change anything. Even in the news on internet she read YS was caught and arrested and jailed, it is all about the murder of people including her family, and YS taunted her by not killing her but to keep her alive and psychilogically taunting and tormenting her. So internet basically is no use anymore for her, because no matter how it provides whatevet information, it will only benefit YS not her, because YS the one with upperhand as she could change what happened in the past, she didn't need technology to murder people, and even she got caught, she had mental illness record so she would use insanity to evade heavy punishmemt, and again it is her the one who can make the call to the future, SY couldn't make a call.to the past, again because it is YS phone, only YS can make a call with it in both timelines. So SY basically couldn't do anything but.waiting for the call to happen and somehow tried to have the phone used by her mother, this is also based on the news on internet of how YS got killed when SY mom and the police came to YS house to find SY and her father. She killed the police and tried to kill SY and her mother, but SY manage to use the chance to talk to her mother to warn her when her mother use the phone to call het father's phone. YS died instead. But since the phone is YS and it is actually YS power to help herself escaped death, it is to keep her alive. So when she died, the phone kind of reset itself to the time before she was killed. That is why in the last scene we saw it is YS came to the house before SY and made the call to YS in the past to warn her that she will be killed that night if she opened the door to SY mom and the police. So whatever happened afterward we only knew, SY woke up in that basement which means YS kept her there for 20 years in the house with her. YS did to her what her step-mom did to her, kept her locked in the house.
The writer definitely someone not familiar with catholic exorcism to build such a story, an exorcist priest can never ever do a solo exorcism, there should always in pair, someobe to assist with prayers and readings and also recording/witnessing the process. Especially when the victim is possessed by a powerful demon. And it is also presposterous that a priest will invite the demon into his body and then asked to be killed, because demon will not die with the killed host, it will always find new host to possessed. And exorcism is not about killing demon but casting it out from the host by its name. This is not just in Catholic exorcism, but it happened in every religious exorcism there is. Figuring out the name of the demon then cast it out by calling its name out, and with the Name of God in Catholoc exorcism. You just don't ask the demon to come into your body and thinking you can lock it up and kill it by having yourself killed. This is something unrealistic and even forbidden sincd the premise here is Catholic exorcism. And one more thing, an exorcised is ordained priest which only act once authority is given and before thet can't just fo exorcising witjout preliminary examination whether it is a case of demonic possession or medical issues (psychological/,mental problems). Not to mention the very priest said they have to stay together but then no one is on guard, when the ypungest asked someone to accompany him to pee, everyone just keep sleeping and let him go alone, and they just keep doing things alone, go to basement alone, and the adult men instead of like stick together and can use text messages and all, they have to step put of the house leaving the women and a young boy alone in the house. And being a priest he's just have to step pit of the house without setting up anything, he asked them literally why there is no cross in the house and instead getting the crosses and the mary statue or whafever it is used, he told them it can be done later, and asked one of the gilrls to go take things from basement, whatever happen with they should stay together. He is the priest, it is his stuffs he should be the one to take them and put them in places before leaving the family alone. He was like not had a sensitivity as a priest and an exorcist at that. You have to be on guard at all times, like when the priest called for him to pick him up at tbe airport, he couldn't just leave the family without setting up protection after telling the father it is the oldest girl, knowiny it could change into someone else if they are separated. And he just not thingking it could be a deception to separate each one of them, but he just went to airport to pick up the priest when he's presence is more needed at home and it is not like the priest couldn't find his way from airport. I mean even for the sake of the plot and story, this is ridiculously inconsistence and incoherent behaviour for ML character as a priest, he said one thing then later nothing he said matter at all. The story is a mess, but acting is great and yea you can feel the suspense in the air from some scenes. It could be better.
Kang Dong Won selects his roles with care, I'm told. I'd love to hear why he chose this one, which is decidedly…
Reply on the parents, the girl initally was exorcised by the priests but it seemed that it failed because the girl kind of have this ability to hold on to/lock the demon inside her. The demon actually lookimh for a male host, but by accident it latched on the girl. Remember the scene the girl was hit by the car of the priests from vatican.
As the shaman exorcism also didn't work and worse the members of the shaman team were injured during the process, the uncle/doctor that asking the priests to finish what they started before and failed because the exorcist priest was also attacked by the demon and the girl committed suicide but fell into coma since. The parents probably allowed the exorcism because if they weren't OK they would have preventef the priests to come and do the exorcims. They were later noy ok and reported it to the police because the vice exorcist priest was attacked by the demon and ran away of spiritual intimidation, he broke the salt barrier and then against the command of the priest to not look at the girl, he looked at her and listened to things he said then terrified. The parents probably went in to see what's happening and saw the girl was tied up and blood everywhete because the demon legion was thrown out alteady as the girl threw up black blood put of her. Ofc parents who are not aware of how exorcism work found that too much and thought that their girl will be killed. But as the main/principal demon still not out because to cast out the name in exorcism, it has to be cast out by its name, so they had to finish it no matter what. Because if the demon stay inside the girl and she died, she is considered unsaved soul, and will go to hell, for them priests they have to save her soul. And they had to figure out the name of the demon, because if the girl died with the demon still latched on her body it will find out new host and hid itself. So yes they kinda had to push forward despite the risk being arrested as killing the girl. But in the final scene, after the vice priest excorcist thrown himself into the river with the posseaed pig, the dead girl in the ambulance actually gets her life back as we saw her fingers move in her mother's holding hand.
All in all yes this is not a horror movie nor thriller, but yes more of a suspense, as this is just about exorcism in catholicism, though not really representation of actual excorcism process but it's kind quite intense and interesting as we get to see the inner struggel of the priests as demon usually will attack them with their own painful memories, regrets, guilty feelings, etc.
I wathed American "Deliver us from evil" which based on real life story, though it was dramatised but quite what's the exorcism looks like for real, and what the demon can do the body of the host, yet the body is kept alive also by it despite the torture by demonic power.
Took me several days to manage finishing it, I wanted to see what happens (i'm sometimes curious), so i had to…
As we tend to see the kind of exorcims from either shamanism or christian setting, or the mixed of them, not so much with buddhism setting. As most unfamiliar with the worldview, so this drama might seem very confusing and not quite interesting even boring.
But if you carefully follow things being said and the conversations made, the story-line is very interesting actually and it is actually about human struggles with pain and suffering, and the red eye and black eye actually symbolosing the agony and resentment that if materialised will only create hell for one and the world.
I think in western-world view, it is about in the face of tragedy, when we struggle with pain and suffering, being the victim of tragedy, we either rise up being one to cause tragedy to others by giving in to out agony and anger or resentment or we overcome it all and gain wisdom and understanding of the meaning of life. We saw these things are so common nowadays, the victims, playing victims and use their victimhood to justify whatever evil they do, or but really not many who inspite of being victims of tragedy, suffer and in pain, they rose up as people who not just understand pain and suffering but the overcomer, not giving into their agony and anguish, anger and resentment, the pain and suffering not victimise them but make them a stonger wiser persons, the ones who know how to overcome it all without losing themselves amd become the good better persons, well in some places the peace makers.
I'm not a buddhist, yet, though Buddhism has very different view with Christianity but on philosophical level, both tackled the common theme about humanity and our stuggles with evil and good in us, though it took different approach and understanding thus conclusion, this is a shared common theme.
And this movie is actually not a horror nor parody of evil, inspite the scenes, but story-wise it is really good and deep. I don't feel the thrill or scare of horror vibe but instead I get to understand this is about human struggles of evil and good within and without ourselves.
I gave this movie 8/10. Just because of great acting by actors .Story sucks badly in this movie. I had to read…
Ae Ran was the sacrifice - self willing sacrifice made to bewitched the virgin shaman. If you carefully watched/listen to the narration, there were two disciples sent by Buddha to guard the black eye in the east, the virgin shaman and the nameless disciple. Ae Ran was a ghost, she already died committed suicide and her ghost residing in and possesed one of the 6 people (bridges) whose blood were used to awaken the red eye. Ae Ran was the red-eye maid who helped red eye as the helper mentioned. She bewitched Chein Seok (he is the actual virgin shaman) so she lead him to the place where the black eye was supposed to be opened., where it was thrown to by Buddha. The guard is the 8th or the last path, the only person who could open the casket where the black eye is kept. And also if red eye succeeding in opening the casket, the body is also became the vessel for both eyes to united.
If you go back to the earliest narration, the red eye knew it couldn't escaped Buddha even it got away so it faked its surrender and waiting for the chance to be found and escaped the prison casket and materialised or took form/by possesing (7 human) to reach to the final one (the eight) where it will united with the black eye and took human form by possesing it.
And back to the first narration, it said Buddha sent nameless disciples to guard the black eye (means it is more than one) and then the head monk/the guard said to Cheong Seok that Buddha sent virgin shaman and nameless disciple to guard the black eye. Head monk was that nameless disciple (inheritor of duty/fate as nameles disciple) and as he said once he died, Seon Hwa will be the next nameless disciple. But as Buddha had known this would happen when it supposed to happen, that is why it said there will be virgin shaman and nameless disciple to guard black eye, unbeknown wisdom to red eye. Who thought the final one would be whoever inherit the power to open the casket of black eye (the eight). And Buddha knew Seon Hwa will ran away from his fate but he couldn't escape his duty. And it is also interesting if you listened to the conversation between head monk and Cheong Seok, when Cheong Seok asked him why Buddha didn't kill the monster, and he answered him said because it exist and not exist. So Buddha separate the two far from each other, so both can never be united, as it will open the path to hell. And aldo on the last scenes about red eye is representing agony, and black eye is anger/anguish/resentment. But both will be materialised in the world to create chaos if united. So them guards who Buddha designated to guard black eye, it is also like their trial to achieve enlightment or fail to. As he will be the vessel for those not exist monster to manifest or materialised into existence if they couldn't overcome their agony and resentment.
That is why the monk said to Cheon Seok about virgin shaman and nameless disciple, he is the virgin shaman the innocent one, kindness one, who will be the trial for Seon Hwa but also will be the guard to inherit the power to open the casket of black eye as Buddha knew Seon Hwa would run away from his duty and at the same time it is also his final test/trial, as virgin shaman will inherit the power to open the casket and it will be united in his body though because Cheon Seok is innocent by nature so the eyes couldm't use him as vessel as their power couldn't.manifest, they have to possesed Seon Hwa instead that is why even the casket is opened and red eye possesed Cheon Seok, black eye couldn't go into his body but hovering in the sky instead. That is why the possesed Cheon Seok asked Seon Hwa to kill him to release his anger and resentment because Cheon Seok actually the son of people who caused the death of Seon Hwa's family. His trial, whether he could overcome his anger and resentment and give in to his agony. But as we saw he fonally overcame it and broke free from it all and as he ordered Cheon Seok before, that he is the 8th step for red eye, so he should be killed to prevent red eye to unite with black eye in his body. So Cheon Seok killed him in the end once he succeding overcome his resentment and agony and freed Cheon Seok from red eye, and once red eye came into his body, Cheon Seok killed him destroy the final.path for red eye to unite with black eye. And in that also Seon Hwa released from it all that caused him to suffer so much as he attain the understanding and meaning of life. Imho it is very interesting drama, it will be confusing of we do not pay careful attenttion to things being said and instead focusing on what we saw in the scenes. It is interesting story about Buddhism view of evil and good. That those evil.force can't be killed as they don't exist in physical nature, but they could materialise and took physical form if humans as the vessel for it couldn't overcome their pain and struggles and opening themselves for those things to materialise by give in to their pain and suffering, thus when anger and agony took over, they will create (open ths path) to hell on earth, or they could overcome it and gain understanding and wisdom and be free from it all.
It is very interesting movie and yes it deserves 8.5/10.imho.
In this story he's just an average middle aged man who doesn't like confrontation, always suppress his emotions just to avoid conflict. The murderer had been intimidating and gaslighting him through the journey, he's under great stress and fearful for his daugther's life (he didn't know that his daugther already dead) and the murderer used her to take total control over him. He threathen him, if he didn't follow his order his daugther will be killed instantly, the guy literally showed him her daughter's finger to open her phone's lock, but said she's still alive and that he should follow his every command or else. The murderer said if he won't give the gun to him, his daughter will be killed, no father in such circumstance would take a risk her daughter being killed when only this murderer knew where she is and the murderer clearly indicated that he has an accomplice. Under such circumstances he has only one choice, to just let the murderer has his way. And this is about an average man trying to deal with a smart devilish murderer, he's just being that average man, who has never in his life getting himself involved in fighting or conflict with others, who always chose to say sorry to people who make mistakes instead of standing up for himself.
And he's not dumb, he's just not a vicious person who tried his best in his own way dealing with an unimaginable situation. A normal person if put in such situation, will lose their mind but he even with his simple minded way, he's mentally strong to go through that hell, and he couldn't see that coming that the murderer could find him there in the house and because of him, the mother and her police son had to die. He regretted it and he actually paid for that in jail in the end.
it got less interesting after the child was saved (which was like midway through the show) but all episodes are…
She was never kidnapped to begin with, it's all her mother and her lover's scheme. She was with her mom all along and the father (ML) was deceived by the two. The wife is the mastermind and villain of this story.
what I don't get isshaman step - mom's story:why did she get her out of mental asylum in the first place if she…
I think YS was taken out of asylum because of the cost and she took her out of asylum because she had premonition, she actually mentioned it to her when she tried to kill her, she said she had to kill her because she saw in the future she will kill people. That's all with her excorcims attempt and like all shamans tried to explain mental illness has something to do with her fate, she told YS that she has bad fate. And the excorsims she did is to prevent manifestation of her mental illness in her opinion ofc, but in fact it just like fanning the little fire into burning flames.
And like time-wise they couldn't provide all the detail about the characters. And it was indicated that YS mom also suffered from mental illness and died. And in all imagination, looking at how her stepmother treated her, probably YS killed her father in her frenzy as a child.
And if you watch carefully when SY went to visit that store the old SH told her, that YS used to be her friend, and she thought that YS was nicely behaved friend, but then YS tried to kill her (we saw burn marks on her body) and she told SY it was YS' stepmom who saved her. And in the news SY read in her tl about step mom was arrested for murdering YS, in the picture she had a sad face. In her knowledge as a shaman, to prevent YS from murdering people as her exorcism wasn't working at all, after the last reading she saw YS killing people, so she had to kill her to prevent that.
YS ofc see her stepmom as an abuser because she was cold and indeference towards her. That's before her craziness kicked in, she was desperate and felt isolated and stressed out as she was basically home imprisoned by the stepmom. That's why she kept asking help from her friend from the store, she didn't know yet her call went through time to the future.
SY didn't do the research at first because YS told her not to. She actually already hit the keyboard and type the first letter of YS name when YS told her not to because she said she had bad fate or something like that.
Strawberry farmer didn't tell SY because it was long time ago, and because when SY asked her first time, SY supposedly already passed away in original tl and he wasn't familiar with YS and her stepmom also. And it was kind of not a good memory to remember or comfortable to talk about. People usually avoid talking about those kind of things.
SY after she realised stawberryman was murdered by YS and she knew YS also murdered the stepmom, she actually look on internet about YS. And terrified to read the news that YS was arrested for murdering the two, and served a lifetime in jail. That's the kickoff of their crazy journey.
I mean all those things had to happen to make the movie. About the crazy sick YS and helpless SY who by accident answering the phone.
can't believe someone with full access to the internet and knowledge of the future, which alone gives her a massive…
The thing is, she couldn't change things in the present time, the change can only be made in the past, and even if she use the internet and so on, she can only know the news while the investigation report from the past, at that time isn't computerised yet, all is in files and notes of detectives in charge of the cases. We actually saw her accessing the news and tried to trap YS using the news about gas explosion incident in the day in the past near YS house and she had to run to police office to look for notes and case files about YS in the past tl.
And she couldn't do much because only YS from the past can make the call, and she couldn't. She can only answer it. And YS actually has the upper hand because she is in the past, she can make the change on the past.
And imho, only YS can make the call with that phone because it is her phone, and SY actually like a variable, accidentally answer the phone because her family in original timeline bought the house . And this phone connection is YS desperate attempt to call out herself for help to save her from her shaman stepmother's brutal excorcism (she use exorcism to cure YS mental illness, YS was diagnosed with APD and BPD).
SY is by accident entangled in that crazy twist of time.
The only theory that doesn't confuse me to my wit's end is this: The mother survived, saved SY and stormed out…
The scene after the credit I think not after the final scene before SY mom throw herself and YS down . I think it is an alternate ending ending of time flutter. Because it is YS fron the present tl who called YS in the past, and that is backward, YS in the present tl was in the house without SY presence and she's fine and not injured/wounded by the fight with SY as in final scene before post credit. She arrived there before SY. And in the past the police and SY's mother just arrived at the door.
So it is like a reset due to time flutter, because the phone in both time line were on but none talking as YS in the past died (because in the alternate YS in present tl told her to escape because she could get killed that night) and YS in the present time either disappeared in final scene. So in the past YS probably hiding in the basement with SY as her hostage, that's why the present SY wake up in the basement. Because it impossibke for her being locked in the basement for 20 years without someone giving her food and drink to survive that long.
It is like back to square one because that phone actually belong to YS all along. And SY is like a variable that so happen her family in the past interested in buying the house, while YS never wanted to leave that house, and it is like her trying to safe herself through space and time. That is why SY couldn't make the call to the past, she has to always answer it.

Sorry to say but this drama is either poor remake or it is just over-acting, unnatural characters, like have more than one profilers, but keep failing against one small man the reaper. Each character on the team whenever they talk or discuss the cases, more like reciting the script to each other instead of having a natural discussion, and sun woo, being a behavioural profiler but idk what her purpose except being unnecessary cold-irritating and seriously she should know better being someone expert at reading behaviour of people, but whenever she interviewed a victim, she failed to get anything because she always go straight to ask question and even more stupid everytime she act like about to hypnotise by asking "what's the weather like", or go straight asking questiin what do you remember, asking to traumatized victim/witness, wounded witness, without trying to calm them down first, making them feel comfortable enough, everytime it is Hyun Jun had to interrupt and able to communicate with them better than her. And oh she's all emotional that she killed a suspect as self defense? She could just disabled him and let the man paid the price, but she turned herselg into a murderer herself because she's just couldn't stand the culprit? Losing all her credibility as a detective because she couldn't overcome her own hatred and disgust, as a police it is something she should not cross, but she did and she got suspended for self defense killing? No she let the culprit talk it into her to kill him. And oh, the other two, the high iq guy and the computer lady who solve the matter about that phabtom web or whatnot, but well they brought her back into the team as if she was the one solve what that web is all about, she contribute nothing but some talk about profiling and act righetously cold, and her experession is always the same in every situation which is also unnatural.
And the supoosed their greatest challenge the reaper, there are more than one profiler and they work on his case. They know the reaper being smart and never failed in his killing, the fact that his last, there was a survived victim, when in other cases the male was stabbed strategically so that he could watch the female being murdered then died of blood-loss, the fact that the last one was stabbed 30 times and survived is already strange in itself, and he even gave them hints by saying odd things but they just keep.missing it until last seconds. And everytime the excuse was profiler is human too and make mistakes. Like that's not an excuse for a professional like them., when it is about the lives of people at stakes. Even weird they caught the reaper, and being a high profile criminal, the idea he tried to kill himself is absurd, and the trope again, he tried to kill himself so let's just get him into ambulance, and voila a small man and not so healthy, could overpower others easily and escaped easily just like that, and again they couldn't cacth him at all with their resources, but they could catch others, but apparently not this one guy that apparently surpasing the iq of that high iq guy, strange also he's just not your average serial killer he also a hacker apparently, he could hack into NCI just that easy and the computer lady couldn't do anything about it, the high iq guy again who was there as a doctor and psychoanalyst profiler, the know it all guy know what the reaper do to hack into NCI. But still his knowing it all not working on the reaper? He's a middle aged guy, smaller than Hyun Jun who's more experienced in fighting, but oh well, the guy could beat him up like way too easy is also weird.
There are supporting actors that acts better than the leads in NCI, only Lee Joon Gi act more natural than others in the team, his facial expression, emotion and the way he talk looks more natural than others, stil this is not his best acting though. The cases actually interesting but the pacing of the story is really making it not thrilling nor captivating. And the worst of all is the ending, it ends just like that, you don't even know what this reaper guy is all about with all his horrendous crimes. He got killed by ML just like that, and oh well, he will never pay for the crimes, in the end it is just easy to kill him, but they made it over-complicated story for that ending which is really lame imho.
This supposed to be good but I'd rather watch the original version than this. Disaapointing one.
So the girl is new to the gang, just started traiing how to fight, then just because she got some advice om how to beat the opponent which is basically common knowledge those men in that training camp definitelly know about and some determination which also not uncommon kmowledge, she suddenly able to beat up all her opponents who not just physically stonher and bigger but more experienced and had trained there longer than her on her very first fighting competion. It is not just unrealistic, it is also make no sense, though all the fighting scenes are great. (Commenting about it after watching 2024 Olympic boxing, when a biological male (trans) beat up a biological female just about 40 seconds of fighhing. Those are profesdionals who trained most of their lives with such discipline and dedication, male is male, female is female there are too big differences when it comes to physical fighting between the two. Not to say women can't beat men in such a fighting, but that's one on one fighting the probability is higher for male to beat up female. And talking about durability, for a newbie to be abke to beat more than one opponents in one fighting is even more difficult, for a non-experienced female especially. But wow she beat up everyone there is really unrealistic despite the great fighting-choreo.
And the other hand, the romance is really unnecessary because not just there's little to no chemistry between them, and nothing really special to build up a romance between them. It is more appropriate for a bond between friends than just a romance because in the end that romance serves no purpose at all thab just a no noteworthy side story for FL.
She's not steategic and not using her brain most of the time, just depending ob her fighting skills? It is like a forced make up of a character instead of a more realistic character for a femme fatale. Women tend to be more calculating imho, not so much depending on physicall skills and strength because you know you can't always win every fight against opppnents who are not just have more advantage than you physically and in terns of power and skill and speed. Women usually very careful in that manner, not just jump into fights against everyone that you couldn't measure their skills and power, men tend to do that but women, the risk of got beaten up and severly hurt is bigger, so usually we don't just jumpt into fights mindlessly., From personal experience, my master trainer used to advice us his female students so. Be calculative and be careful, read your opponents first, know yourself your limit your power your durability before jumpinh at your opponent. Don't just depent on your determination but use ypur brain as well. Be tactful, the best fighting is not that physical encounter but when you can beat up your opponent in terms of willpower, beat our opponent mentally and emotionally without having to spend so mich time and energy of physical fighting.
I know this is action movie with FL as the main heroine the kind of female fatale, still it just not so great in terms of the story.
I find ML villain is the best of all. He didn't need that much of physical fighting, as he himself is the emodiment of intimidation. His stare and his gestures itself very intinidative, and he's unreadable. Which is more interesting than FL. She just look complicated with her action and all, but she's very simple and readable. Nothing worth of character development at all, since it all just about her personal revenge, the only development is that she knows how to fight better. Othet than that, she still has that highschool personality of hers. So it's just average.
But again, all the fighting scenes are awesome to behold as they seem so narurally real. Great acting too.
One of the most painful drama to watch, how a school bullying/violence can do to people, both victims and perpetrators. It is really a tragedy. I could literally feel the pain of heatwrenching watching the portrayal of the abuse, the supresses anger, the explosion of anger, pain and helplessness. It felt so real, painfully real.
One thing that really disappointing in this drama is the FL character written badly. As a police detective she just do thing alone on her own, without ever involving any of police detective. Like she's playing the hero on her own, the only true detective on her own. The trope of "i'll tell you later" to other detectives when she never did, not even a hint, so they just go here and there chasing the wind. She could just tell the team JS team leader that he shouldn't be investigating the case as it involves him, and that he's not mentally well. When he was stabbed at the hospital. And the other time it could all end there in the police station when KM came in himself to police to confront JS, she barged into interrogation room, has evidence on her and the witness is there, instead of telling others polive so the matter can be solved and investigated, she left on her own, leaving a suspect and a witness on their own. And oh well, because she left just like that, JS got a chance to bring KM with him and tried to kill him. Instead of opening up on things she already knew, she just leave them knowing such a risk. Another time, JS came to thread that police to know where KM is, she had chance to catch him, even pointed a gun at him, but again she did nothing, leave him to go for KM on his own again knowing full well the possibility JS is going to kill KM. She could prevented their death, so both can face justice for what they had done, but no, because of her doing things on her own, both them died in the end. In this parts only this drama is make no sense, and it ends terribly because JS didn't even paid a thing, a promised she made to KC's mother that she will caught the one who killed her son. She didn't caught him all the chances she had, and he never paid his killing his friend, instead he died a hero for police, what kind of justice is that? And KM died a murderer when he actually ready to pay for what he had done, but he had to die in the hand of his friend too. Like they tried to drag the story with the FL character doing all things on her own. In the end there is no justice for KC's mother, her son's murderer died a hero. No justice for KC himself as his friend who murdered him, died trying to murder his other friend. Despite all what happened had gone public, it just gave you a bad taste on your tongue with the end of the drama and the FL non-sensical character.
If they follow the novel, in the novel, the friend who seemingly always been there for him, acrually hid her own rotten nasty secret. In the novel she got aressted.
Imho it is very interesting drama, it will be confusing of we do not pay careful attenttion to things being said and instead
focusing on what we saw in the scenes.
And SY is like a variable that so happen her family in the past interested in buying the house, while YS never wanted to leave that house, and it is like her trying to safe herself
through space and time. That is why SY couldn't make the call to the past, she has to always answer it.
All in all an interesting movie.
