This series is just what I need right now. Sota, Sato, and the entire cast of this series are wonderful in bringing this adaption to the small screen.
Kota doesn't at all get how folks see him (adorably sweet, and kind), because of him not wanting pity. It's the negative image of him, thing that keeps him from letting people into his life. He should have a group of really great friends like Naoya has, to support him.
All the "bad luck" that he has going for him, yet it doesn't stop him from getting to Naoya, is exactly what makes Kota loveable to him.
Just finished this drama now and I URGENTLY NEED RECOMMENDATIONS FOR OTHER DRAMAS THAT ARE AS GOOD AS THIS!!!!…
Glad that you stayed, and enjoyed this crazy, enjoyable, lovely, and touching series. Here are my recommendations:
Absolute BL (Japan) - an utterly delightful spoof on all the tropes that we constantly see in BLs. The main lead, sees himself as "one of the mob" aka "background players", but he keeps finding himself in situations, in which he tries to avoid falling for a boy.
A Tale of a Thousand Stars (Thai) - One of the best made BLs ever, in my opinion. Not set in a college. Not centered on late teens/early college students. Not based in Bangkok. A rural setting, with characters in their mid to late twenties, discovering that there is more to them than just who they appear to be. The way that those two main leads, would just look at one another. Sigh.
Blueming (South Korean) - A college based BL, regarding two young men, in the same film department. A lovely, reflective journey, of very two lonely young men, discovering the "blueming" of trust, sharing their trauma, and the joy of falling in love.
I also can confirm all of the previously recommended BLs, especially Bad Buddy, Semantic Error, Cherry Blossoms, Gameboys, History 3 Trapped, We Best Love, Papa and Daddy, Plus and Minus, Until We Meet Again, Not Me, Cherry Magic, My Love Mix Up, Mr. Unlucky, Lovely Writer, Life, His, The Untamed/Word Of Honor, Killer and Healer, Couple of Mirrors (Chinese GL)!
What a beautiful series, As an Executive Director, Saint always seems to amaze me. Saint is so talented and gifted.…
Nope. I too, thought that Billy and Zee looked very similar, and I also saw similarities with the characters of Nuea, Fighter, and how much those two fell in love with their guys, Toh, and Tutor.
One of the scenes that passed as a joke and no one noticed, is that his mother cut out his picture, and only put…
"I've seem many people criticize even the fact that he kept his glasses on all the time."
Yup. Everything about the characteristics of Toh, was just too much for some viewers, that they couldn't or wouldn't look past those things. I believe that the screenwriters, director, and Saint specifically choose to showcase Toh's hoarding, and the certain things he collected, in a fantastical way, in order to try and get fans to see that some of these actions are behavioral responses, of trying to retain a bit of happiness in Toh's life. Fans collect, purchase, and trade stuff with other fans all the time. Hopefully, they're not collecting fish heads, crabs, oranges, and other highly perishable items.
There's a lot going on in this series, but I'm enjoying it. Doctors harvesting organs. People being used for their status/money. Young doctors pining for other young men.
Mmm why would u say so.. if u really lik a bl rom com.. then this should be at the top.. but if u don't like this…
"There are ALL sorts of views. My personal favorite "Bl Romantic comedies require two things missing from Cutie Pie. Romance and Comedy""
π π€£
Or, a comedy, and romance, in this particular series, is showing one half of a pairing, absolutely terrified of getting caught being on the phone, with ANYONE else, other than his "minder". Or bursting into tears, because you got yelled at, for not knowing how to cut a boiled egg.
You noticed the dummy account reviews too. Ha! It's not like they were subtle about it. That's some desperation…
"When honestly, no matter what a person writes about the show, anyone who watches it will make the decision for themselves."
Exactly. That's why some of us folks, who are critical of the series, are telling others to watch it for themselves, and they will see that the plot wasn't fully developed for this TV adaption.
I also thought it was handled perfectly. It wouldn't have made sense if Nuea was legitimately angry or grossed…
"The thing is, Nuea is weird too. He's a very horny man who got turned on by a nerdy guy following him around with a camera. Just because he's incredibly handsome, doesn't mean he can't be weird."
Exactly!! I mean, folks got on Toh, for how he breathed, while Nuea is giving him the best sex, he never, ever, thought that he could possibly have in his life. Toh honestly thought that he could only ever imagine anything like that in his dreams, that's why he asked Nuea if what they were doing was real, multiple times.
That's why Nuea took his time to get Toh physically comfortable with him, being around him, leading up to the "practice kisses", the "tutoring" on Fridays.
Nuea gets pleasure, from knowing that he's the one that gets Toh all hot and bothered.
Nuea's the one that made his relationship with Toh happen.
Wow.....just wow. That was one of the most intimate scenes, that I have ever seen portrayed in a fictional drama, for TV, or film. The desire, the joy, and the peak of pleasure they experienced with one another. I need a cigarette.
Bravo to the casting agents of this series. They cast this TV adaption brilliantly, with the right group of performers, especially Apo, and Mile as the series leads.
i see so many people complaining about how they handled the toh's secret collection thingy, but i personally loved…
"So i guess although Nuea's reaction to the whole thing wasn't realistic, it was still a good way to make sure that the viewers know what Toh did was wrong."
Not that Nuea's reaction/response wasn't "realistic". It was that his reaction/response was viewed as unbelievable, because yet again, the improbability of someone like the Nuea character, being head over heels in love, and lust for a character like Toh, is deemed too fantastical to be believed, even in a BL.
Okay.....Kouta knows that he made a huge mistake in taking advantage of Naoya's feelings, even before he came to the realization that he's already fallen for him. Now, the 7 day wait for the next episode.
I knew that those two wouldn't get divorced, but I'm not buying that those two aren't Yu Zhen & Shi Lei from BLIH. How Yu Zhen described all the things he loved/noticed about Shi Lei. How they met. His dimples. The competitiveness. That shirt!! I loved their reunion.
Ze Shou loves, loves, loves Li Gong. I think, he's still afraid of the next steps, aka marriage, because that's how he thinks. Li Gong's patience, and love will help him see, that they are in no rush.
Oh Yuki. He saw himself as that cat, regarding his rush to get Ying Ze to see how much he's fallen for him. Yet, I'm glad that with his child's push, Ying Ze admitted to himself, and Yuki that he's also falling for him.
That girl, is going to get her Daddy, the love he never thought he would have in his life.
