So far, the Roseonly endorsement did not bring out any war between the two fandoms. That is because they do not collaborate on any drama. If they do, war may break out.

And there been no prosecutions of anyone for starting any of these wars. Merely some accounts were blocked.

I think I saw some of the pictures made by YY's fans. Sometimes, these wars are started by a third party, people pretending to be YY's fans, saying bad things about Reba, and her fans will then react, and then war will start. These third parties are people who do not want YAMG to succeed.

Just all kinds of funny stuff going on in China. Just glad we do not need to be part of the circus. We just enjoy whatever drama Reba acts in, and support whoever is the ML in her dramas. So far so good. All of her recent dramas have been highly successful.

You can lurk around this page every 3-4 days. If someone from this page sees an official notice (on Twitter or a social media in China), you can be sure it will be posted here. So far, nothing official, only rumours.

By the time I got to the MDL page of LOA, there was no longer any discussion about the FL. It was all about the ML. One name floated after another, and finally we knew it was Gong Jun. And he was a good choice. No history of run-ins between his fans and Reba's fans in China.

I think there was one big battle between Reba and Xiao Zhan's fans, over an endorsement deal for a spectacles label. And recently, Reba also took over one endorsement deal from Xiao Zhan (for a product called Roseonly). The contract for his endorsement ended, and Reba took over. His fans might blame Reba, and you can be sure, Reba's fans will fight back (should that occur). So, any collaboration between them is not impossible, but will be challenging.

Before YAMG was aired, there was also a potential conflict between Reba's fans and Yang Yang's fans, and their respective studios quickly sent out notices asking the two fandoms not to fight. Those notices did their job, so their fans did not fight, and the drama was well supported.

There was also a big fight recently between fans of Wang Yibo and Zhao Liying.

I think after HSDSS, his historical dramas did not fare very well, which is rather unfortunate. Hopefully, he has better ones in future. He is young, so he has time.

We do not know, because there has been no official announcement of the airing date by the producer. The 30th Jan date is just a suggested date. We are not exactly sure where MDL got that date from.

Edit: Lots of people are on the constant lookout for an official announcement from the producer. If that announcement does not come by this and next week, airing on 30th is extremely unlikely.

Your 2nd para, you said the director lectured at Dilraba's University. Are you referring to the director of LOA? LOA has three directors listed in its MDL page. Are you referring to the most senior of the three, Gary Sing??

I went to the MDL page rather late, but I think Dilraba had always been the first choice as the FL. Most of the speculation revolved around who would be the ML.

I actually watched Rebirth for you, even though I skipped quite a few episodes. I tried it, because the ML did well in Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre (2019). Sad to say, it was not a good drama. Lots of negative comments on the MDL page of that drama.

Choice of the ML may also depend on their history. Reba has tons of fans in China. If the ML also has lots of fans, and if the two fandoms have had a history of fighting each other, this is another factor the producer needs to bear in mind. They may get into another fight or one group of fans may just decide not to support the drama, viewership in China will suffer.

Latest I know, she is still shooting lots of commercials. As we inch toward toward Chinese New Year, it is becoming clearer by the day, she is determined not to make a decision till the CNY is over. Or, even if she did, she is keeping it a closely guarded secret.

Apart from the script, the producer and director are also important pieces of the puzzle in selecting her next drama.

2021 was really easy. Director Chu (from her ELOD and TLB days) pulled her over to TBW; Likewise LOA, with the hugely popular Gong Jun (after his success in Word of Honor). This time, the path forward seems less clear.

The best script can be ruined by a terrible director; and having a low traffic male lead could mean she needs to rely on her own star power to pull in the views. A producer with poor budget could lead to cheap looking sets, costumes, etc.

Guess we will just have to wait. Just like we are waiting for the airing of TBW.

Does not matter as You Are My Glory is a romance drama and Couple of Mirrors is a triller. You can watch either first and it will not affect you.

Yes, HK movies/dramas are past their prime. Even modern Cdramas these days are really good!

I think no need to worry about CGI for TBW. I heard that the team who did Ancient Love Poetry is doing it and that drama has very good CGI.

Actually, there is no need for us to choose. We can watch all the dramas. When I said support, I just meant going to the page of that particular drama and discuss with people there. I will likely also watch Immortal Samsara, but I will not be going to the MDL page of that drama to discuss with individuals there. There so many good ones around. If we discuss on every forum, it will take up way too much time. So, I usually only hang round the forum page of Dilraba's dramas, beginning from TLB.

The HK production sets are way too small compared to the Chinese. When the Chinese set up Hengdian World Studios, it was their weapon to conquer the world. At least for historical dramas.

Yes, budget does make a big difference. And TBW is a big budget drama. Hopefully, they will be so realistic, you will not be laughing because they look like cartoon.

Yes, someone ont the page of TLB mentioned that both Wu Lei and Yuning are from the Lost Tomb series. I think the actor who played Sheer is also from that series.

Legend of Anle will be out later this year. If it is pitted against Who Rules the World, no need to guess which drama I will support.

No problem. We are expecting something official this week or next week. If we do not see anything official these two weeks, it means it will not air in Jan, but pushed to late Feb or even early March.

We do not know what is causing the delay, but suspect it could due to the post production team still trying to work on some issues.

Yes, I do feel that Chinese historical dramas have already beaten the Koreans. And also beaten Hong Kong historical dramas.

CGI is getting better all the time, but maybe still lacking behind the Americans. The Chinese are learning to make all those mythical creatures more and more realistic. So, here in TBW, we will see Dilraba with her fox tails. This is not the first time she has those tails, but it will different from those previous dramas. Previously her fox tails made her cute. I suspect, this time, her tails can be used for fighting.

And also Allen's fish tail. They will need really good CGI to make his tail look powerful and shark-like.

I see. You watched Wu Lei and Liu Yuning's dramas before watching TLB. If you only watched TLB last month, you already missed out on all the interesting discussions that we had.

You did watch TLB? Why didn't you join the discussion forum on that page? It was really active during last May-August. Many of us are Reba fans, so from TLB, we followed her to You Are My Glory. And now here. We do watch other dramas, but usually do not bother to join them in discussion, as that too can take up a lot of time.
