I did take note of her actual height and compared with Reba's. 3 cm may not seem like a lot, but, I do suspect, those extra 3 cm landed Reba in lot of endorsements deal for fashion clothes, thus increasing her visibility. In those dramas that called for Reba to act as Princesses, having those extra 3 cm helps.

Torville and Dean were indeed the best! When they performed to Balero in the 1984 Winter Games. I watched that live (on TV, of course) and it was just unbelieveable. They won Gold.

The Bad Kids? Low number of comments in MDL, but rather high rating. Mostly unknown actors/actresses, that mean the script and directing must be good. I will check that out too, once I can find the time, after finishing To Fly with you.

Don't worry too much about it. We know all these actors and actresses, they wear wires while filming many of the fight scenes. Yet, as long as we do not see the wires in the final product, we don't really care.

Same for the muscle suit. We do not know for sure if he wore it, but, even if he did, good CGI will take care of it, the same way CGI made all those wires disappear.

I am going to second this. On the page of TLB, we defended Wu Lei. On the page of YAMG, we defended Yang Yang. On this page Reba's fans will help to defend Allen (if at all there is a necessity).

That is true. Acting is a collaborative effort. I think that is what happened to Yang Yang as well, in YAMG. Dilraba's trusting, free and easy personality likely brought out the best in him. We just need to compare his performance in LOVE020, when Zheng Shuang was not a very good kisser.

If cheerful personality in his co-star brings out the best in Allen, we have no worries. Dilraba is as cheerful an actress as they come.

After To Fly with you, I might want to catch another ice-skating drama, to get myself into the mood to watch all the ice-skating events in the Winter Games. I will watch all these, just before TBW starts. Once it starts, I am just going to watch TBW, plus the Games. If I have time, I will watch MTC.

Yes, Wang Anyu is not a bad actor at all! Even in To Fly with You, he did Ok. And it will be most remarkable, if he is not a good skater himself and has had to train a lot just to film this drama. Likewise for Song Zuer.

Another very happy viewer of this drama. We have lost count of how many individuals like you since last May. Yes, the costumes are indeed not remarkable, nor many of the production sets. I think they may have saved some money on those and used it on the music, because the music is really great (all the OSTs and the BGM). May also need to pay cast members, director, etc., a bit higher, because this was filmed during COVID-19 and everyone took risks to film this drama.

The smaller fight scenes were very well done, especially those one-to-one combats.

Not sure if you are aware, but this drama and some its cast members won a number of awards. They are there, in the "Photos" section above. Apart from those, there were also other awards, mentioned in the post by Titania (scroll down a bit and you can see it).

All in all, this is a great drama, and your rating of 9.5 (and the high ratings by many of us who have watched this months ago), is an accurate reflection of that.

Yes. I do enjoy watching Winter sports. But, mainly the skating events. Particularly figure skating. All the competitors are so graceful. And all their jumps! Breathtaking! Must have started watching these events like 20 - 30 years ago.

The FL in that drama, she definitely has the skills to take over from Reba when Reba moves into her 30s, get married and scale back her acting. But she is shorter and smaller built than Reba. Hope that will not affect her in getting roles, especially roles that have rather tall MLs.

The FL is quite a good actress. I think she is something like a child actress. Just 23 this year, but got her first acting break back in 2005. That is 17 years ago, when she was just 6?? She is attending the same acting academy as Wu Lei right now, and they know each other. She is definitely the next generation of stars that will shine.

I set my phone to receive any Reba related tweet every hour. Currently watching a youth drama on ice skating called To fly with you. The FL is a peer of Wu Lei. Intend to finish it around the time TBW will air.

Feng Lai Qi has that dance element, and we all know that she is a very good dancer. But, even if she does it, I doubt they will highlight her dancing skills. She might just do a minute or so of dancing. Most people watch her dramas to see her act, than to see her dance. But, yes, I do think the FL role in FLQ will be within her comfort zone. She will easily ace the role.

BL is sc-fi?? No romance?? It will definitely be something different from what she has been doing the last few years. I could be wrong, but Hot Girl has no romance as well. But it made use of her fighting skills and that drama was quite a while ago.

I do feel that doing romance is her core strength, but sooner or later, she will need to try something different.

It is part of Asian culture and could well also be present in other cultures, but the word 'hawker' is synonymous with peddlers. So hawkers are essentially street peddlers who would sell their stuff on the streets, normally with mobile carts.

Hence, in the old days, there were lots of these people selling their food and clothes on the streets of Singapore, all on mobile carts that can easily pushed from one street to another.

Many years ago, the Singapore government thought that this makes our streets rather unsightly (here in Singapore, we love everything to be well organised), so they gathered these people into 'centres' where many of these hawkers can sell food and clothes, and other stuff, in permanent stalls. Hence the term "hawker centre' came into being in Singapore. It is good for these hawkers, because they no longer need to push their food around (which can be rather tiring).

Actually, in the source material of TLB, the main focus is very much on Li Changge's character growth and development. The very title of the source material is named after her. "Long Ballad" is a direct translation of her name from Chinese into English. In the source material, her relationship with Ashile Sun did not reach the point of romance. Due to legal issues with her former agency, the author of the source material had to stop her work. So, the scriptwriters had to write a lot of stuff for the drama. But they kept the essential characters of Li Changge and Ashile Sun pretty much the same. They were enemies, on the verge of getting into a relationship, but not quite there, when the author stopped publishing her work. The two scriptwriters did an amazing job; roughly 50% of the stuff you see in the drama were never in the source material. For instance, the character Leyan, the second female lead, was not even in the source material.

Yes, the producer felt that it was essential to 'grow' their own grasslands. Many of the grasslands scenes you see in the drama, the grass was never there. They planted seeds sometime before they began to film, so that they could get the grasslands by the time they filmed that drama. This does call for some advanced planning. Should you visit Hengdian one day, you can ask the tourguide, see if he/she can bring you to the place where they grew the grass to simulate the grasslands in TLB. Maybe you can step on the very grass that Dilraba and Leo Wu stepped on, they filmed TLB.

Same here, like to guess her next project. But, from past experience, we already know that the MDL people do not always get things right. Been watching a new drama, and was mentally prepared not to hear anything about her new projects till after the Chinese New Year. Hence, I did not do any active search, till Titania mentioned that MDL had already set up this page.

I have been seeing Reba doing one commercial shoot after another. She could be so busy, or is just taking her own time to make up her mind about her next project. Could well be the options on her table are not as clear cut as those that she had in the past and we may not hear anything official till mid-Feb. But, if she starts filming by March, we should still get to see a new drama by 2023. And, if her next two projects are any combinations of modern and historical dramas, we may even see two dramas. If both are historical, it will be challenging to get two out by 2023.

Possible. But it is no indication that they are correct. Reba's picture has been on the Invader MDL page for a long long time, and nothing is happening to that drama or movie. Hence having her picture in the cast on this page may not mean very much.
