Yup. Here on this page, fans of both Ren Jialun and Dilraba should be mutually supportive of everyone, so this page will be seen as 'united' to neutrals (people who are not fan of either Allen or Reba), and they will be encouraged to watch TBW.

I will be very frank. I have watched dramas from both the leads of MTC. When they are at their best, they are really good!. If that drama has quite a fair bit of focus on romance, I think those leads can meet or even exceed viewers' expectation.

I think Youku and Tencent will manage both dramas in such a way that both dramas will have maximum exposure to viewers to China (and elsewhere). It will be to their commercial benefits to do so. Why fight each other, when you can help each other?? Collaboration is always better than competition. For viewers, I think they are likely to see this as a bonus, and may not even want to compare the two. Even though both are fantasy (Xianxia) dramas, the plots are entirely different, and the cast certainly are. No reason why viewers cannot enjoy both equally, or why both, collectively, cannot raise the level of Xianxia up another notch. in terms of story telling and production excellence.

I am not surprised that most Greeks watch American dramas and movies. I think most of you received western type education, so American TV dramas will be very appealing.

Although I am an overseas Chinese, I received western education, so I spent years watching American tv dramas and Hollywood stuff, while also watching lots of dramas from Hong Kong.

After that, I migrated to kdramas, and only in the last few years, started to watch dramas from mainland China. The actress most responsible for the switch is Dilraba. She is from a minority ethnic group, yet she is an amazing actress, with great visual.

On the MDL page of Mirror Twin Cities, they already updated the airing schedule: Sunday to Wed. Likely 6 episodes on the airing date (16 Jan) and two episodes per evening, thereafter.

And that is how Youku and Tencent will help to avoid direct collision. TBW will air from Thursday night to Sat night. We should get some kind of official confirmation soon.

Isn't that wonderful? Every night in China, 7 nights a week, they will be able to view a blockbuster Xianxia drama. So are we!

The weather is very cold in China now. At night, it drops to minus 10 degree Celsius. The sun sets early in winter. The Chinese are going to be hanging around at home, either watching MTC or TBW or the Winter Games. I think viewership for both dramas may well go sky high.

The Chinese are not as dominant in the Winter Games compared to the Summer Games. I could be wrong, but they are only strong in skating. Both speed and figure skating. I think the Europeans and the Americans are dominant in skiing and skateboarding kind of events. And lots of the skating events can be held indoor, so they could be well be held during the daytime, to capture the Western TV markets. And since it will be Chinese New Year holiday time, the Games organisers will not be losing any Chinese TV audience, even if these events are held during the day.

So, all is well for TBW (as well as for MTC). We need not be all that fearful about the Winter Games (the way we were afraid that the Summer Games would kill off the viewing audience for YAMG).

Some of us here are die-hard Reba fans. I will likely watch MTC as well, but I will not be on the page of MTC to discuss anything. We will be here on this page, to cheer Reba and Allen, and create our own drama, even as we watch TBW.

Be careful not to say anything bad about MTC. Some of commentators there could be firm supporters of the two leads in that drama. The male lead has not appeared in a historical drama since 2016. There is a lot of pent up demand to watch him in a historical drama. And the FL is not exactly a pushover either. She did well in Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre (2019), one of the best portrayals of Zhao Min ever.

I just have this feeling that both dramas are going to experience ridiculously high viewership in China.

I read the English version of the synopsis of this novel. It looks very female-centric and the main character is quite complex, exactly the kind of role that Reba would like to do. Perhaps she and her team are keeping things very very quiet, because they do not wish to leak anything, in case Reba truly take up this drama. They want it to be her firm decision, before they release anything official. But, apart from the novel, other aspects are also very important. Who is the producer? Who is the director? Who is scriptwriter? All these, we do not know. They are also very important success factors.

Unfortunately, I don't. I saw it only once, but after that, I could not find it again. If I remember correctly, it was sent by her Thai fans. I remember that tweet, because of the red costume.

I saw a tweet that says Reba's team was given the script to this novel, by a producer. A producer could have already bought the rights to the novel, for drama adaptation. But, so far, no further news.

I think the story is very original. I have not come across any Cdrama that deals with cross species romance. And, usually, even if it does in dramas from other countries, it is always a guy falling in love in with a mermaid. This time, it is a lady falling in love with a merman.

I don't watch all of Reba's dramas too. In fact, most of her modern dramas, I do not watch, except for the latest one, YAMG, because I followed her there from TLB. But, it was worth it, because YAMG is such a great romance drama.

I usually do not like to read the source materials before watching a drama, because I love to be totally surprised by the drama, all the twists and turns. If a drama is really well made, it should be able to tell us the story, Also, like you, I am a lazy reader. When I see something with that many chapters, even if the chapters are rather short, I surrender.

Great! Glad I remembered the right person, because MDL page of TLB went crazy during one period of time and there were just so many of us there. But your name handle is quite unique, hence I could recall.

I am not a novel reader, but I waited for ELOD for quite a while. I think since TMOPB ended. I did watch Flame's Daughter, but after the sad ending for Baifengjiu in TMOPB, everyone was just waiting for ELOD.

From the description of all who have read TBW novel, the story sounds really interesting. Heartbreaking is good. Reba can do heartbreaking scenes well. Together with Allen, I think TBW is more or less an assured blockbuster.

He just won two acting awards in China recently. One for one and only, and another for Forever and ever. He does look great in historical dramas. But in modern dramas, they gave him this hair cut that made his hair cover half his forehead. With better hairstyling, I think his visual in modern dramas will be much better. Apart from visuals, those acting awards do show his acting abilities and versatility.

And he is an actor in great demand. After filming TBW, while Reba went on to film Legend of Anle, he went on to film a drama with Li Qin. He barely finished that one, and now he is filming a modern drama with Angelababy.

No one knows with 100% certainty. But we are waiting for some official announcement sometime in mid-Jan. Expected airing date is in Jan. Very likely end Jan. If it is earlier, we will be so very happy.

Many of us watched this drama back in May of last year. Cannot remember which specific episode. But, it was soon after she followed Ashile Sun to the grasslands, and then she had her first menstrual period. That was when the others from Eagles Division knew she was a girl. Should be between E17 to E20.

I know. She will get bored with commercials and variety shows after a while. I know she always sees herself as a good actress, rather than being part of a staff on variety shows. And jumping from one show to another as a guest is not really her cup of tea either. I think she did a lot of that during those 8 months back in 2018, when she did not film anything. And it is clear, she did not like it at all. So, once she and she team find something good, I am sure she will go for it.

I think Wu Jingyan's portrayal of Wei Yingluo in Yanxi Palace was superb. Her presence in every frame was very charming. But, perhaps because she did so well there, and her Wei Yingluo was so iconic, expectations were raised and her subsequent performance suffered. Hopefully, this drama can help her regain her status as a great actress.

Xu Kai has gone on from Yanxi Palace to do so many other dramas. But he also needs a really bit hit to lay claim to the next generation of great actors.

We really wish both of them all the best and want to be charmed by this new drama of theirs.
