I love their voice. What wrong with the voices? Dong hua voice is so darn sexy.
There is this real possibility that Dilraba's voice may not be suitable for a historical drama. Or that she might need a lot of time to get it right, and hence delay the production process. Hence, this same voice actress dubbed her in TMOPB as well as ELOD.
In You are my glory, she used her real voice.
The same may be true for Allen.
Did you watch The Long Ballad? The same voice actress did the dubbing for Dilraba. And she did an amazing job! Her voice matched the mouth movements of Dilraba perfectly, and she managed to convey all the right emotions for Dilraba's character. When I watched TLB, I mentally blocked out her voice in TMOPB and ELOD. Got to do that, in order to enjoy the drama.
Same for TBW. We need to mentally block out they were same voices used elsewhere. As long as those voices match the emotions or whatever they were trying to convey, viewers will not mind.
Reba has another historical drama coming up. The Legend of Anle. The same voice actress could be voicing her. If we cannot handle that, we might not be able to enjoy that one too.
I did not read the entire novel, but I played cheat. I looked the ending. It is a good ending. Hardly depressing. Maybe the path, the process of getting there could be drepressing, but the ending certainly was not. Most people care more for the ending, than the process of getting there. In fact, if the process is painful, it makes the ending more sweet.
I don't find him appealing either.I never thought he would be in an other Xianxia after "the legend of the white…
I do not think this place will become toxic. When the drama is aired, some of us will advice others to be polite and allow different views. The same thing happened on the page of You are my Glory, Reba's last drama before TBW. It was really toxic, at one point. But gradually, it became really mature.
Many people from here, including myself, we spent months on the page of TLB and YAMG. We cannot totally control this page, but collectively we can channel it in the right direction.
However, we do need to be careful about people who claimed that they are fans of this actor and this actress. They make such deceitful claims to throw people off guard or bring certain group of people to their side. Even for such individuals, we need not be rude to them. We can still be polite. Either that, or we just completely ignore their comments, knowing that they are never true fans of any of the actors/actresses nor are they objective in their opinions.

You are talking about our new airport. Yes, it can be a world unto itself. But, it still isn't Singapore. Especially if you want to savor cheap and good street food. We actually do not call it street food in Singapore. We can it hawker centre and hawker centres are found all over, and each hawker centre has plenty of great local food, even if they are not Michelin star quality. You can have a great lunch for something like US $ 2.50. The best shopping is actually found outside the airport. But, the Singapore government is really smart. They built the latest airport like a self-contained little city to cater for travellers who may only have one day in Singapore. With only one day or less, you may not have the time to eat at the hawker centres nor go to the best place to shop in Singapore, so lots of people just hang around at our airport.
Oh, regarding The Long Ballad, the main emphasis actually isn't romance at all. The main focus, if you read the source material, is actually on the character growth of Li Changge, the main character of that drama played by Dilraba. When they adapted the material for a drama series, they knew that viewers will still want to see romance, hence they changed many things from the source. They added way more romance, but they still cannot overdo it, because the drama will lose its main focus. This is why the romantic element of the interactions between Dilraba and Leo Wu is more restrained, and many failed to see their chemistry. Once you know the true intention of the writer and director of TLB, you will appreciate it more. I appreciate it for the many life lessons it conveys, like loyalty, putting a nation's interests before self-interest, etc. For relationship between Ashile Sun and Li Changge, rather than romance, I appreciate their unique relationship of complete trust in each other and how they are willing to die for each other, and how Ashile Sun gives Li Changge the freedom to do what she wants. Even the ending scene conveys the amount of freedom Ashile Sun gives to Li Changge.
Yes, the costumes in Rise of the Phoenixes are really stupendous. You can tell a lot of money went into making all those great costumes and the production set. They have lots of palace scenes, so having nice production set is really important.
ForTLB, the producer actually mentioned that they had wanted lots of beautiful outdoor scenes, since lots of the actions took place at the northern grasslands. However, that drama was filmed right at the height of the pandemic in China. It was not possible to move that many people around various places. They ended up growing lots of grasses at the filming studio at Hengdian, to simulate the grasslands. Knowing what they went through just to make this drama, the cast braving the pandemic, the producer planning months ahead, taking into account the pandemic, many of us appreciated the drama even more.
Soon, my friend! Our long wait for this will soon be over!!
At this point, anything is possible. MTC will be broadcast on 16 Jan. According to a tweet posted by Lulu (in one of the posts below), an official announcement will be made that TBW will also be aired on Tencent's viewing platform (Tencent actually has two: Tencent video for those in China and WeTv for international viewers like us). Announcement supposed to be made on mid-Jan, and mid-Jan could be 15 or 16 Jan. If they do make this announcement, they may also announce the confirmed airing date for TBW.
Mid-Jan is just days away. We will soon know if that tweet is reliable.
I don't find him appealing either.I never thought he would be in an other Xianxia after "the legend of the white…
Yes, you are very well informed. We do have street food market with Michelin stars. What do you mean by go on holiday in Singapore and never leave the airport? You do need to leave the airport, in order to experience Singapore. I think you must mean something different.
I think Reba needed to display the widest range of her acting abilities in The Long Ballad. Likely more than her roles in TMOPB or Eternal Love of Dream. It is ok that it is your least favourite Reba drama, as different people look for different things in a drama. No matter how popular, no drama can have the same appeal to everyone.
I started on Rise of the Phoenixes, but just could not finish it. I think the plot moved too slowly for me. I watched TMOPB a couple of times.
definitely they will promote but after the premier date coz there was already Melon that Reba will not join any…
Yeah. Just wait. Personally, if she is really going to get married, it does not matter who she marries. But, hopefully, for the sake of all her fans, she will not step away from making dramas even after marriage. Lots of good actresses have continued to work, even after marriage, having kids, etc. Of course, there are also those who said bye bye to the entertainment world, once they are married and have kids.
definitely they will promote but after the premier date coz there was already Melon that Reba will not join any…
If you are referring to the one about the moon, that movie likely will never be aired. No official reasons given, but they could have gotten into post production issues. Maybe post production, they felt the quality is not good, or run of money to do further post production work or what, we don't know. But, who knows? Maybe if there are new investors who are willing put up resources for post production, we might still get to see it.
But someone mentioned that the director of Ball Lightning said Reba has already turned down that drama.
You said words on the street. You mean words on the street in China?? That this rumour that Reba might pick up Ball Lightning is still circulating in China??
I don't find him appealing either.I never thought he would be in an other Xianxia after "the legend of the white…
Majority of the people in Singapore are Chinese, but we do have lots of other races, like Indians, Malays, etc. But Singaporean Chinese are different from the Chinese in China. Most of us are rather cosmopolitan and many have western outlook. If you want to know more about Chinese history, culture, and so on, China is still the best place to go.
It was on the page of The Long Ballad that I met lots of people from all over the world. You will be surprised how many non-Chinese like that drama.
I don't find him appealing either.I never thought he would be in an other Xianxia after "the legend of the white…
Maybe you suspend your judgement just for a bit, and watch The Blue Whisper and see how you feel about his performance?? Don't start out being too negative, or it might affect your enjoyment of this drama and also your evaluation of his acting ability. At the very least, tell yourself, give him a fair chance to prove to you he is good.
I don't find him appealing either.I never thought he would be in an other Xianxia after "the legend of the white…
Yeah! That would be nice. For some people you just need to click on their profile, you know which country they are from. But country may not tell us their ethnicity. Like you, for instance. I think lots of people here are from all over the world. I am from Singapore, an overseas Chinese. Part of the Chinese diaspora.
definitely they will promote but after the premier date coz there was already Melon that Reba will not join any…
Yup. She won't want to repeat that sad history. But, one thing we all do know, even if Dilraba claimed that she does not even know herself. During those 8 months when she did not film anything, anyone can tell from one of the interviews she gave, she was not happy bouncing around, just doing commercials and taking part in variety shows. She was almost like hinting to drama producers/directors, "please contact me". It was almost paradoxical, as it happened almost right after she had won two Golden Eagle Awards in 2018.
In You are my glory, she used her real voice.
The same may be true for Allen.
