I see. I left kdramas some years back mainly because the quality of historical Cdramas has already surpassed historical kdramas. Sets are beautiful and acting is top class. I don't even watch historical kdramas anymore. And watch only about one modern kdrama a year, but I still watch lots of western dramas.

There are lots of friendly people here. I met them on the page of The Long Ballad. They are from all over the world, just as we have many people from the around the world in Singapore.

As to whether there is a region lock on MTC, I am not sure; but, like you said, many have complained that they cannot find it on their WeTv app.

We need an official announcement on TBW by this week, if they wish to air it by end Jan. That will give them time to drop new trailer, OSTs, etc. next week, right before the drama airs end Jan.

No announcement by week means a few things are possible:
1. Airing is delayed till end Feb or early March.
2. Announcement comes next week, together with new trailer, plus OSTs.

Why is option 2 possible? They are still working on the post production and hence cannot commit to anything, till next week.

Judging from those who have read the novel, we have a great story. We know that the cast is great. Director is experienced and good. The only piece of puzzle is post production. Perhaps official announcement is slow in coming because they got held up by post production.

Post production consists of editing, the CGI, putting BGM with the right scene, OSTs, etc. We can only guess, but perhaps some of these processes have held them up. But these have to be perfect, for the drama to meet viewers' high expectations.

For a Xianxia drama, CGI is really critical. Good editing is needed for all genres. Great BGM and OSTs are likely to be bonuses, though they will certainly add to our enjoyment.

At this moment, we do not have a choice but to wait patiently.

You should definitely continue, if you are already at E32. There are not that many episodes left. There is no over rating of this drama.

Over rating occurs when a drama is first launched and its fans rush to rate it. But this drama was aired in April of last year. By now, thousands of overseas viewers have viewed it. You can see that the raters are provided by 6000 plus raters, not just a few or even a few hundred. The rating is high simply because an overwhelming number of people like this drama, far more than people who do not.

The high rating reflects the quality of this drama, which is one of the best historical Chinese drama broadcast in 2021. Just how good it is is reflected in the awards won by the drama and its cast members, which you can view in the "Photos" section above.

I just saw some stills of Reba in red, in TBW.

Just finished TFWY. Quite a nice watch. Will now try CK. First episode does look good; hope it continues this way.

I think male co-stars who act with her for the very first time would be distracted. They would have seen her in photos, videos, dramas. But coming up close with such a beautiful lady for the very first time, I think they would be stunned. There are those like Vengo Gao, who have acted with her in many series, I think they have gotten used to her looks. They would likely be less distracted.

Yes, she does have big eyes and a very beautiful smile. Some actresses, when they smile, due to the way their face muscle move, their cheeks may look puffed up (not their fault, as they can hardly control of those muscles). That makes them look old and does not good, when they smile. Especially when they smile broadly. Not so for Reba. Her smile is beautiful, making her a favourite ambassador for many products.

She does look best with her long hair down. In LTB, many of us were deprived of that, as there were so few scenes of her with her long hair being let down. Fortunately, YAMG took care of that.

She looks great in red! But, I don't think we are going to see her in red in TBW. Looking at all the stills, none of it has her in red. Mostly pastel, like you said. But, she still looks great in those.

I think over time, hairstylist and costume designers have learned how to dress up her hair and design costumes to bring out her beautiful features, and it is so true that audiences have gotten used to her unique look. We no longer find it strange to see in historical dramas.

It is still possible, and we can hope. We will need an offiicial announcement soon, followed by new trailer or OSTS or both, and then the airing schedule. That is the pattern used by Tencent (for MTC).

The official announcement of the airing for TBW must come, and must come soon, no later than this coming week, or we could be looking at late Feb or early March.

We need to be mentally prepared for all possible outcomes. Get some nice dramas ready on our watchlist. If there is a delay, we know what to do.

I do agree with you that very young and childish looking FLs are very popular in China. They don't really care about our views, honestly. Especially for modern dramas. They are really trying to capture the domestic market in China. And Lareina is very popular now, with producers and directors queuing up to get her in their dramas.

It may have to do the viewers' profile as well. Younger viewers, especially those still in college, are those with most time to watch dramas. Those in their 30s are likely to be working, and could be tired or taking care of kids at night. So, these young viewers likely created lots of demand for FLs like Lareina, as they see themselves in her.

Yes, she does look different in Cupid's kitchen. I think in TFWY, they gave her a hairstyle that made her look younger to match with kids that are in college. In CK, she is a young working adult. Her speaking style in TFWY and CK are also slightly different, which is a credit to her acting skills.

Her acting career is off to a flying start. She is not at the same level as Dilraba, yet. Give her 4-5 years, she should be at the level where Reba is right now.

Yup. I am at around E19 for To Fly With You. Both the leads, and even the supporting cast members are good. Simple storyline, so very easy to follow.

I introduced Lareina to my auntie, and she says she wants to watch all of her dramas. My auntie said she looks like a kid!! I told her, sure, she is so much younger than Dilraba. She will mature and, with proper hairstyling, they can easily make her look older, to fit mature roles that she might play in future.

Yes, Cupid's Kitchen does look similar to Dating in the Kitchen. Did not watch Dating in the Kitchen, but just the very title hints that they might have a similar plot. I will watch Cupid's Kitchen, after clearing To Fly with you. Especially if they are not going to air TBW in Jan.

If they do not mind some clashes between TBW and MTC, TBW can air earlier. Let's see what they decide. Many of us will be looking out for the official announcement from Youku. Also, if a great majority of people in China do buy VIP membership anyway, especially since this is the Chinese New Year period, there will be no or very little clashes.
