Her character in that drama was Chen Qianqian. She nailed that role very well. No one is disputing Lusi can play rom-com well. It is her comfort zone.

I will be totally surprised if she wins anything as Leyan, as she is only the 2nd FL. All of the other winners, they played main leads in most of their dramas. So if Lusi won anything, it should be as Chen Qianqian in Romance of Tiger and Rose.

Yup. This video is consistent with scoompi link on all the winners. I do not see Lusi's name. And, again, I do not see Lusi's name as one of the winners in Wikipedia. I googled three winners in her category. The other two names, the award appeared in their name. Nothing for Lusi, when I googled her name and checked Wikipedia

Regarding the quality of the CGI we saw in the trailer, it is not a rumour, but based on an article that I posted earlier. You can see the link in a post below. The article cited viewers in China as saying that it is of poor quality. To be honest, yes, the article did cite viewers from China. But, we do not know how many viewers said it is poor quality. And same article also said Allen's tail does not look big enough for a shark (relative to his body size). I think some viewers could be expecting a much bigger tail, since a powerful shark is likely to be much bigger than the size of a human body. The trailer shows a tail that is relatively small.

I will say this. You and I, we are international viewers. We do not play as many video games as those Chinese viewers. So those viewers are comparing the quality of CGI in the trailer with what they saw when they play those video games. And they said, the one in the trailer 'looked' cheap. That is what the online article said.

Be that as it may, TBW is supposed to be a big budget drama. All of us, international viewers and domestic viewers in China, we expect nothing but 1st class CGI. And we are now in 2021. If they can have 1st class CGI in dramas that were screened many years ago (think TMOPB in 2017), we should have 1st class CGI in 2021.

Yes, the trailer for TBW was rather short. Can we really judge the quality of the entire drama based on that short trailer? Probably not. So, were those viewers who complained about the poor quality of Allen's tail somehow against this drama? Likely not, because they made no complain about Reba's fox tails. They seemed quite happy with it.

So, basically, the CGI team has to improve on the CGI for his tail. Maybe make it look bigger and more powerful?? More shark-like??

Can they do it? Sure they can!! They have enough time. And they have enough money to find the best CGI team. I am not spreading doom and gloom here. Just saying those are the negative feedback (even if we do not know how many viewers actually said his tail looks bad). A good CGI team should be able to fix the problem in a few months (maybe 2-3 months from now). They should not need half a year to fix a few CGI problems, if this is truly a big budget drama. And mind you, they already had 4 whole months to work on this! Many of us knew that tail was always going to be the biggest challenge for the CGI team.

This is totally possible. Because she was the FL in Romance of Tiger and Rose (2020) and that drama did very well, and she too did very well in that drama.

Welcomed. I feel very strongly that it will be shown in 1st half. Even by May-June, they would have had close to a year with post-production. And this is supposed to be a big budget project. Surely, they have enough money to get the best CGI team. And, also, we are now in 2021. If they can do a good CGI for a 56 episode project in 14 months back in 2018-2019. surely they can do good CGI for a 43-44 episode project in 2021 with far less time. Technology would have improved over the last 2 years. Unless, of course, Youku chose the 'wrong' CGI team, or tried to save money and selected one with the lowest costs.

I saw and posted this link in this forum 9 hours ago. You can see it the post below. Anyway, I tested on another winner this time, Amanda Manopo. I googled her name, and Wikipedia does show that she won Asian Star Award. But, when I tried Zhao Lusi's name, it still does not show that she won anything. And it has been whole 9 hours.

Thanks! I checked. The Orange Box showed that her category is an invitational category, as compared to first category, which is International Competition Individual Category. In short, no competition was involved in the category for which she won. But, yes, some kind of voting was still carried out.

Dilraba, on the other hand was nominated for best actress in the individual category, for which there is competition internationally. So maybe more of her supporters voted for her in that category, but she lost out to other competitors.

Lusi supporters on the other hand likely nominated her for her role as Leyan and with no competition from other actors/actresses from China, she won, as each country is allowed to nominate one actor/actress.

To be very honest, if you really have time on your hand, and are done watching all Gong Jun dramas, you should start watching Reba's dramas. If you also enjoy her style of acting, you will have double the amount of fun watching LOA.

I would suggest you start with TLB, because that too is a historical drama (like LOA), whilst YAMG is a modern drama. TLB will give you an idea what kind of fighting scenes she can do.

Dear all, please hold tight. Airing of TBW in Q3 of 2022 is only a rumour, nothing official from Youku. TBW was done filming in June 2021. Very likely to be aired no later than May-June 2022, since the episode count for that drama has been likely reduced from 60 to around 43-44 (my guess, based on length of filming). If TBW is aired no later than May-June, then, LOA can air later part of 2022. This is the more likely scenario.

I have done some very simple research and analysis, using Eternal Love of Dream as a comparison, because that too, is a xianxia drama. If you check wikipedia, you will know ELOD started filming on June 10, 2018 and wrapped up filming on Nov 19 2018. It took them 5 months to film a 56 episode project, by exactly the same director, who also directed TBW. But TBW finished filming in less than 4 months, for what was originally meant to be 60 episodes, split into 2 parts.

Commentator Birdlady was the first to mention that the total number of episodes was reduced from 60 to 43. This too, I suspect, did not come officially from Youku. Birdlady, if I am wrong, and you do an official source for this info, please do let all of us know.

However, even in the absence of official information, the reduction in the number of episodes is totally possible. Why? If the director took 5 months to shoot a 56 episode project, it is not likely that he took only 4 months to shoot a 60 episode project. And mind you, both are xianxia dramas, so the comparison is legit. If we hold the assumption that director Chu has the same rate of filming, in 4 months, he can only shoot a 43-44 episode project. Furthermore, it is very unlikely that they will recall everyone back, just to shoot another 16 episodes for part 2. They are done filming TBW, and the high probability that the episode count has been reduced to around 43-44.

Now, let's talk about CGI, using also ELOD. From completion of filming to airing, it took them about 14 months (for a 56 episode project). If TBW only has about 43-44 episodes, combined into a single drama, and filming was done in June 2022, it should take them only about 9-10 months, which places airing date to around May-June 2022, which is Q2 of 2022, and not Q3. This is the more likely scenario, because Youku has another big budget project (Legend of Anle, also with Reba as the FL) that is currently filming. They will be done filming that project by Nov, and it should be ready to air any time from July 2022 onward.

Hence, here is my calculated speculation, based on extrapolation of timeline used in past dramas: TBW will likely air no later than May-June 2022, leaving Youku enough time to air LOA around Q4 2022. This would be ideal for Reba. She will have two dramas aired in 2022 (TBW and LOA). And investors of LOA will also be very happy, to see it being aired in 2022, instead of 2023 (which would be the case, if TBW is aired in Q3 2022).

There are three links for the SDA. Two links did not show Zhao Lusi's name. But the third link does show her name. However, the third link does not show for which drama she won the award.

And when I googled Lusi's name and went to Wikipedia, it did not show that she won anything, but when I googled Kentaro Sakaguchi, the Japanese actor who won the same award as her (according to the third link), wikipedia does show that he won the Asian Star Award.

Thanks! Got it! Yes, this one did mention her name, while the other two did not. So, we don't know which is correct. Also, even though this particular link mentioned her name, it did not state any particular drama. She could well have won it for her role in "Romance of Tiger and Rose" because some of the winner mentioned here, for instance, Suzy Baey, she won for her role in Start-up and that drama was aired in 2020. Just to find out what kind of award this is, I googled one of the winners: Kentaro Sakaguchi

So, two things. First, we are not really sure if she won anything. Second, and if she did win, we are not sure in connection with which drama of hers.

I think people are saying Allen lost weight in order to play his character in 'One and Only'. Hence, he looked a bit lean for his role in TBW and had to wear that fake muscle suit. Maybe he had no or insufficient time to bulk up???

Yah. The two links that I saw clearly showed that no individual actors or actress from China won anything. The source that says Dilraba was nominated for CGX, did they state that Zhao Lusi was nominated for any award for her role as Leyan??
