how is Jun Jiu Ling? does it have a similar storyline to TLB?
The ending for GMP is really sad (and, in my opinion, rather unnecessary - she did not really have to die). But Peng Xiao Ran's performance in that drama was superb. And the costumes and cinematography for that drama were great, so I really did enjoy it. I just mentally blocked out the ending.

Have you started on Princess Silver? Just wondering how is your response to that drama.

Next year, besides The Blue Whisper, Dilraba's another historical drama will also be aired. Legend of Anle. That will also be a good one. But we will need to wait till at least June 2022. The Blue Whisper will like air around Jan-Feb 2022.

You can try one or two episodes of TLB. See if you like it. If it matches your taste, you will most certainly love it and watch it till the end. It will provide a nice contrast for you as well, when you watch LOA, to see the difference between Reba's acting in TLB and in LOA, just as Simon's acting in LOA will provide a nice contrast with WOH.

I hope this will not raise your expectations, but both Reba and TLB have been nominated for awards at the Seoul International Drama awards 2021

Many of us only got to know Reba better after watching her in The Long Ballad. It was on the page of TLB that other people told us what kind of person she is, not just beautiful on the outside, but beautiful inside, through many of the good things she did, like engaging and contributing to humanitarian work, staying scandal free, etc. From many of the BTS for TLB, we also saw that she is basically a very fun loving person who treats all her co-stars as colleagues, even if she is a big star. She does not look down on any of them, but interact with them as a friend.

She was already famous even before The Long Ballad, but many of us felt that her performance in that drama as a female lead was perhaps her best in a historical drama. You might want to watch The Long Ballad, if you are keen on getting to know her acting skills. Liu Yuning, one of the cast members in LOA, was also a cast member in TLB, so you will get to watch Liu Yuning.

And yes, I agree with you. Gong Jun and Reba will be a perfect pair for LOA. Visually, they both look great and very compatible. And because they are about the same age, there will be less communication issues while filming. We can look forward to the great on-screen chemistry both of them will show us.

But, we might have to wait for at least 6 months before we get to see LOA. For a drama as good as this, it will be worth the wait.

I realise that you are rather insightful in your comments. You would always emphasize both of them. Yes, in a drama of this nature, if there is romance in the plot, than more important than their performance in their individual roles, lots of people will be looking out for the screen chemistry between the two characters they play. That is how all the great dramas made their marks, not just individual actors/actresses who excelled in their roles, more importantly, the screen chemistry between the FL and ML.

The is how 'You Are My Glory' sizzled, and that is how LOA will sizzle.

The whole point of her journey and growth is her giving up on revenge for the greater good, for the peace and…
Yes, that is the charm of this drama. In contrast to the usual revenge theme, the main protaganist learned to look at the big picture and forgave the man who killed her biological father. Li Simin was not the only one she was prepared to forgive. There were others. Even the main villian.

Keep watching. You will soon understand why she gave up on revenge
If you are at E43, a few episodes later, you will know that her forgiveness of Li Simin is complete. There will be no sudden last minute revenge.

Keep watching. You will soon understand why she gave up on revenge
Her decision to forgive Li Simin was never a sudden one. It was a gradual process. But the key that led to her decision starts in E40. You need to watch that episode again, if you missed the reason why she decides to forgive Li Shimin. Part of the reasons can be found in E40.

In terms of endorsements, yes, over the years Reba has been a very popular spokesperson for great number of products. Simon has certainly made great strides in this regard, after WOH. I think all top notch male stars are going to benefit a lot from some of the scandals engulfing a few male entertainers in China. For instance, Bulgari cut ties with Kris Wu and went for Yang Yang.

Reba has always worked well with all her male counterparts. Even when she worked with Leo Wu, in The Long Ballad, she got along very well with him, though Leo is a full 8 years younger than her. She did not treat him a little brother, but as a peer, with a great deal of respect, and I do believe they became good friends after that. Likewise, when she worked with Yang Yang in "You are My Glory".

I think she is going to get along just fine with Simon and they will show great on-screen chemistry, and off-screen, they are likely to become good friends after filming.

All is well. Just a small misunderstanding that has been cleared up. All are supporters of Reba and Simon, just overly anxious to watch LOA.

I really hope they are kisses since they are important for the story !
Well, that is the thing. If there are kisses in the novel, and those kisses are central to the story, novel readers do expect kisses. If Allen's contract does not allow for kisses, the director will have to be very creative in overcoming the lack of kisses.

Same thing happened at TLB. Months after its airing, just days ago, potential viewers sill asked if there are kisses, and we need to explain why there are no mouth to mouth kisses between Leo Wu and Reba.

TBW being a historical drama, I do not think viewers are expecting the kind of intimate scenes we saw in 'You Are My Glory'. Someone here mentioned that Allen's wife even showed up at the production site. If his wife is not even comfortable having Allen hug Reba, it is going to be challenge for the director. How will Reba and Allen be able to show great screen chemistry without any kisses, no hugging?

Mind you, this isn't "One and Only". That drama, viewers fully expected no physical intimacy between the leads, hence they were not disappointed when there was none.

I am also curious how the director is going to solve this problem. Hope he has learned some lessons, after directing TLB. Let's see how the drama unfold, and whether there are any adverse reactions from viewers in China, should there be no kisses.

Noted. Anyway. I have great faith in director Chu. Did a great job for ELOD and TLB. Whatever he does for The Blue Whisper, I am sure it will turn out good. So, let's wait patiently for the drama.

Yup. I am aware that some of those dramas were filmed some years ago

I wish for nothing, but the best for his future.

Are you sure that Simon does not have agency acting for him? I remember when some people tried to stir up trouble for him, his agency spoke up for him.

While we are going to do our best to stay focused on LOA, my own experience, after being months on the page of The Long Ballad, is that unavoidable that from time to time, people will digress. It is ok, as long as it done civilly and kept to a minimum.

Most important is for both supporters of Reba and supporters of Simon to stay united on this page, and support both our leads and support the drama itself. In fact, not just them, but also support all the other actors/actresses. We need the entire cast to act well, for this drama to be a big success.
