The theme song for The Oath of Love beat the OSTs for YAMG. It is very melodious and beautifully sung by Yang Zi and Xiao Zhan. Just listening to the song can evoke lots of emotions.

I saw the trailer and can see that Yang Zi can cry very well, which is important for that drama. That drama will have more sadness than YAMG. So, it is just a question of whether a romance drama with a simpler plot, can beat a heavier drama with slightly less romance.

Whether TOOL can cure you from YAMG will well depend on your preference. You like to see kisses and sweet romance more, I do not think TOOL will cure you. If you prefer a drama that will make you cry more because of sadness, TOOL should do the job.

It is amazing. Even in day time, people in China are watching this drama. Clearly, people who have not read the novel, who are not fans of either Reba or Yang Yang have joined in the fun. They do not want to miss the boat. When their friends, relatives and everyone keeps talking about this drama, they do not want to look like fools who do not know what is happening.

So, you dropped both Love Scenery and You are my glory. Which drama did you finish watching? Give one or two examples. Just by looking at your example(s), we can tell your taste.

Vely, I fulfilled my promise and did watch You are My hero. But only the first episode. There are 40. By the time I finish all, you will not be able to find my comment here. So I better write something before it is too late.

Here is what I think happened. The first episode of YAMH is very good. It has lots of drama (robbery, surgery). and some humour. The acting by Sandra Ma and Baijingting is good. So, very likely, YAMH gripped you from the 1st episode, and 1st episode of every drama is very important. Once it grips you, it is very hard to let go.

But YAMG is a slightly different story. The 1st episode is slow (relative to YAMH). In fact, the first few episodes are slow, unless you love that video game and the novel. So, I know why you found YAMG to be boring. I shall put in point form, easier for you to follow.

No1: You are not a fan of the origial novel written by Gu Man. Because fans of that novel will be able to go through the first few episodes without any problem. They know that the fun part will come later.

No 2. You are also not a gamer. Because if you are, even if you did not read the novel, you would have found the 1st few episodes of YAMG to be quite exciting because the CGI is quite good.

No 3: You are also not a fan of either Dilraba and Yang Yang. Because if you are, even if the 1st few episodes of YAMG are a bit slow, you will still enjoy their acting. Because they acted well in their respective roles as a successful actress and aerospace engineer. You cannot blame the producer for selecting Reba to play QJJ, because she fits the role very well. Same for Sandra Ma who fits the role of a surgeon well, since you do not need an actress with high visual to play the role of a doctor. Patients do not choose surgeons based on how beautiful they are. They choose surgeons with steady hands who can help take out tumours. Same for Yang Yang. In the book Yu Tu is a very handsome guy who is a space engineer, and Yang Yang fits the role very well.

No 4: Because you are not a fan of either Reba and YY, you did not watch E21 onward very closely. If you did, it is not possible that you do not detect chemistry between Reba and YY, while you detected chemistry between Sandra Ma and Bai Jing Ting. Just from the opening sequence of YAMH, we can see good acting chemistry between Sandra Ma and BJT, but likewise, you cannot miss the good chemistry between Reba and YY. Even before they got together in E21, when they acted those scenes that involved misunderstanding and rejection, they made those scenes very believeable. and that is because of good chemistry between them.

The good acting by Reba and Yang Yang can be subtle at time. But they play a couple in love. Even without all the hot kisses, we can feel that they were a couple in love just with their eye gazes (they way they look at each other, their eyes meeting each other, electrifying the space between them). Add to that, the way they hold hands, their hugs, and QJJ so comfortable sitting on his lap, him so comfortable to be sat on by her, etc. How can a viewer sit through all that without feeling that they were indeed realistically in love?? When we add their passionate kisses, even the best of Kdramas will find it hard to match.

If those scenes were not realistic, YAMG would not have gotten 3.36B views so far. You are my hero did not do too badly either. By now, it must have gotten around 4B views, but YAMG will get there soon as well. Based on a single platorm (Tencent video), YAMG will outperform You are my hero in terms of view counts by the end of 2021. I will bet my last dollar on it.

At most, we can say they were different kind of drama, both equally good. Your views regarding You are my hero is not wrong. It is indeed a good drama. Only a very biased viewer will say that it is lousy.

But I afraid to say that your opinion regarding You are my glory is skewed (because of the points I mentioned above). YAMG is not overrated. If anything, at 8.8, it is under-rated. Come back in a few weeks. It may reach 8.9.

Tonight in China, ordinary members of the Tencent App are watching E29-30. Those are great episodes. We should hit 3.4B easily.

Love Scenary was made into a drama slighlty earlier than YAMG, because 明枪易躲, 暗恋难防 is a less popular work, hence easier to find less popular actors to act in. You are my glory, the novel, is far more popular and everyone was waiting for the two big stars to say yes to their respective roles in the drama.

There is indeed a lack of imagination here; maybe you just got it wrong that 'You are my glory' lacked imagination. It should be Love Scenery. So, Love Scenery is just another You are my glory.

Got you. But I don't think she is going to let her fans determine or influence her what she will or will not do. Like the Legend of Anle, for instance. lots of her fans don't want her to do that, thinking it is too similar to TLB. But she did it anyway. She already acted as the FL in Love of Thousand Years where she had more air time, and that one is not a rom-com. You can watch that one to judge her acting ability in a serious role, because she has lots of air time there.

And next year, she will have a historical drama "Who rules the world" where she is the FL playing a serious role and she will again have lots of air time. We can look at the viewership count of that drama next year, and that will help determine the calibre of her acting abilities.

Everything else is just a lot of hot air and nothing more.

I think we should just wait. Too many things are linked to Reba. Best is to wait for official confirmation from her agency. She is still busy filming now. Maybe her agency is waiting for her to make up her mind, which drama she wishes to act in.

Ok, there are many ways of doing the ranking. In terms of getting averages, there are three ways. One is raw average, which is what we see up there in the rating. Another method is called mode, which the rating that is most common (e.g., if rating of 9 occurs the most number of time in rating TLB, that number will be used to do the ranking), or the median, which is the number right in the middle (for example, if we arrange the rating TLB from the lowest to the highest, the number right in the middle will be used).

So, very likely, MDL did not use the raw average. They could well be using the mode or median, to decide on the ranking.
