Finally moved to 3.41!

I think there was this voting that was going on, see which on-screen couple is the best, and YangDi won it. As a result, their videos got screened in some of the big shopping malls in the big cities in China. I wonder if that is still going. If it is, there might still be some promotion for YAMG. Other than that, we cannot expect too much. After all, next week will be the final 2 episodes for many people.

Most people who wanted to watch YAMG already bought the fast track option last Monday, when both the viewing platforms crashed. We did have some VIP members who did not buy fast track and watched this past Monday. What is left will be just ordinary members who did not buy fast track.

The fact that it has frozen at 3.4 for two hours and not move means that this final group of viewers are very few. Which may also mean that getting to 3.5 may take us a while. Maybe the whole of next week. But, it will still be a victory for YAMG.

That Disney shoot was quite special, actually. For TLB, there was practically nothing, apart from the Happy Camp episode prior to the airing.

Yes, when we look back from hindsight, and see the amazing chemistry between Dilraba and Yang Yang, it really make you feel that the director, Gun Man and Tencent, all made the right choice by picking Reba.

Given the scandal engulfing Zheng Shuang, we might never ever be able to watch YAMG, had she been cast as QJJ.

It is already 3.39B, and it is not even 8 pm in China.

Considering the number of kisses and hugging involved, particularly those with them standing, Reba is ideal for Yang Yang. She is just slightly shorter than YY. If a short actress did this role, it would have been a challenge when they try to film this. They might need to put her on a stool or something.

One of the top female actresses now is Zhang Zifeng. But she is way to young to act opposite Yang Yang. Guan Xiaotong is another big star, but she is just 23. Will she have the maturity to deliver all those lines that Dilraba did?? And she has a boyfriend. Not sure if the boyfriend will be happy to see all those kiss scenes.

You run down the list of actresses, it keeps getting shorter and shorter, till you finally admit, there really isn't anyone better to play QJJ than Dilraba.

Yeah! Cannot wait to see all the drama and acting awards next year. I do think YAMG will win lots and lost of award. Given the view counts, it will be hard for judges in China to ignore this wonderful and sublime drama.

Personally, I find it hard to find another good actress who can play the QJJ better than Dilraba. The simplicity of the plot simply means they need a high traffic female actress for this drama to be successful.

Will Yang Mi, Yang Zi, Zhao Liying, or Zheng Shuang do a better job?? Given what happened to Zheng Shuang, they must be glad they did not ask her to do it. Will Yang Mi, Yang Zi and Zhao Liying be able to do all those kisses as well as Dilraba and deliver all those important lines as well as Dilraba?? I sincerely doubt so. Even Yang Yang himself said that in real life, Dilraba is just like the QJJ in the novel, in terms of behaviour and mannarisms. To me, it just means no one could have done it better.

But, we shall see. If she wins lots of acting award next year, and YAMG is one of the dramas that account for that, we will get our answer. If she wins nothing, perhaps another actress could have done it better.

But, we shall see. If the drama itself win awards next year, for sure, Gu Man will get the credit she deserves. If only Dilraba and Yang Yang won acting awards, we will know who contributed more. If everyone is a winner, all are equally responsible.

The volunteer at MDL has responded. As expected, the ranking is based on ratings that we see here in MDL. But the volunteer said that the exact manner how the ratings are used to determine the ranking is known only to the two admins in MDL. This is to prevent the ranking from being manipulated by people.

She also confirmed, as I had suspected, that the ranking has nothing to do the number of views in China.

So, I guess we will never know the exact method??

I understand that. But the story isn't entire unique. It is a plot used many times, and has been mentioned a number of times by many people in this forum. A love story involving two individuals from two different social classes is as old as Romeo and Juliet. It is hardly new. Gu Man just reversed the gender. She threw in that video game and then the China aerospace. That game is very popular in China and aerospace industry is seldom, if ever, written about. But the gaming genre is no longer new. Gu Man herself started this genre. She added those witty dialogue in YAMG. But that is essentially it.

While she may have Yang Yang in mind when she wrote her novel, there is no way the drama itself would have worked, if the female actress is not good. Considering the great number of kisses involved, it is a high risk role for any female actress. Not sure how Dilraba's future husband will take it. Hopefully he will be an understanding person. It is her comfort level being kissed so many times that helped Yang Yang to be relaxed and pull off those kisses. Besides the kisses, she needed an actress good enough to deliver all those lines in the novel the way Dilraba did.

The greatest credit for the success of this drama should go to the two leads, not Gu Man. That is all I am saying.

I really have no idea how this drama will perform, without Yang Yang and Reba. In fact, without either one of them. If either YT or QJJ was miscast, I do not think we will see the kind of viewership that we saw. On-screen chemistry relies on the work of two actors. If even one is off, their chemistry will not be at the level that we have seen.

Yes, it is very obvious you are not a fan of the novel, nor a gamer. But I do find it surprising, when you said you like Yang Yang and Reba. Earlier, you said you find Yang Yang's low pitch voice a bit cringy. If you like him as an actor, you cannot find his voice cringy. Otherwise, you are just liking the look of his face. But liking his face alone will not make you like him as an actor, because here in YAMG, he is using his own voice. If you like him as an actor, you must like his voice. So, I really do not know what you like about Yang Yang.

And Reba too. You said you like her. but in your first comment, you seem to imply that she is only beautiful and famous. You did not imply that she is also a good actress. So, what do you like about Reba? Just her looks? And her fame??

Don't worry. No one is going to hate you. But Yu Tu isn't really perfect. He has insecurities regarding money issue, whether being an aerospace engineer will make enough money to care for his mother, if she should fall ill.

Also, many people here do not feel that his reason for rejecting QJJ the 2nd time is a fair one. That is why QJJ made him suffer a bit.

His personality only changed, after he going along with QJJ, when QJJ gave him so much support. It is not written in the story, but I would like to think that after marriage, QJJ will make all his money problem disappear into thin air, leaving him to concentrate on his career in deep space exploration.

Regarding his voice, that cannot be helped. Yang Yang has a natural low pitch voice. There is nothing he can do about that.
