Try to find a source on the alleged genocide from an impartial body that has no motivation to promote the narratives…
Totally agree with this. So far, claims about genocide have all come from western media. I read a lot about all those alleged camps in Xinjiang. But, no one knows the truth. Until a neutral party goes in to have a look at Xinjiang, the alleged genocide remains a western narrative.
I do not think it is fair to say that Dilraba sold her soul to China. Lots of Uyghurs are happily integrated into the Chinese society. Did all these people also sell their souls to China? I think not. There are lots of reports that Xinjiang is doing very well and the whole region is progressing at a very good rate economically.
Dilraba is just an ordinary Uyghur who happens to also be good actress. Nothing more, and nothing less. Being a good actress is her service to the people of China, and to her fans around the world. Let us just appreciate her performance and leave politics to the politicians.
Omg i hope this is true! Can’t wait to see these two on screen together and modern! 🥰
We will love to see them together on screen, but this particular storyline seems more appropriate for a younger set of actors. Likely those in their early 20s. Also, the FL in the novel, she might not the kind of character that Reba loves to play. Passive, blank slate, cannot communicate well. These are totally the opposite of what we know about all the recent characters that she has portrayed.
There must be many other scripts that are more appropriate for them, scripts that will make better use of their immense acting talents.
That is the problem for us who are following Dilraba (as well those following Allen). They keep improving with each new drama, keep raising the bar, leaving us gasping for more and more.
When the subs are out and we watch this drama again, the gap between TBW and Legend of Anle will be narrower and our wait will be shorter. That is our only consolation.
Speaking as one who did not read the novel, I just want to say how well this drama has been directed. The pacing is great; all the dialogues move at reasonably fast pace, so the drama is not draggy. Since I do not know the plot, I let the drama tell me the story, and so far, everything is well explained.
All the main characters, their relationships with each other, their backstory, every bit is well explained.
And the flow from one episode to the next is great too; even the flow from one scene to the next within each episode. It transits smoothly, helping us to understand the overall plot and many of the side stories.
I know some of you felt that those episodes in the house by the lake was too long, but I do not feel that way. Those episodes were needed to show the development in their relationship, and also helped reveal Ji Yunhe's most important goal in life, and Changyi's knowledge of that goal. They set the premise for his subsequent desire to help her fulfill that goal. Those episodes also showed their mutual love for each other, and the development of that love.
Some of you say too much time was given to the secondary couples (and there were many couples in this drama). I thought it is ok. Their lives were closel intertwined with the lives of the main couple. Their stories helped to give both depth and width to this drama, and increase its plot complexity. As long as everything is explained clearly, I do not see any harm done, but lots of positive contributions to the drama. I mentioned this before and will do it again, the great Hollywood movies Titanic, many of the supporting cast members did great and helped that movie to be a smashing success.
Many of you do not like the fox tribe or feel that too much time was given to them. Yet, looking at the wider scheme of things, we can see that once they are done playing their roles, the attention was focused back on our main couple. We can see just how much attention is focused on Ji Yunhe and Changyi in these few many episodes. And because both Reba and Allen are such great actors, they have great screen presence. They take one minute to express themselves, what will take 2-3 minutes for the others to do it. That is why their characters are always ranked so highly in Aiman's drama character index. When this drama is done and dusted, they will leave the deepest footprint on this drama, even if the combined screen time of the secondary couples is higher than theirs. It is quality versus quantity and quality always trump quantity.
In the novel, the author told her story. In this drama, the director told his. In the BTS clips, we did not see any presence of the screenwriter at all. But, the director was all over the place. He was essentially the main story teller in the drama and he did a fine job, in my humble opinion. Whatever mistakes he made in TLB, he rectified them in TBW.
There are only two more episodes left to this drama. I have seen the preview of the final two, and they look epic, a fitting finale to this fine drama. When 2022 is done, there is no question that TBW will be one of the top 15 dramas of 2022, regardless of what comes after this. The only question will be its ranking in that top 15.
As there are always random trolls in popular drama comments I thought it would be nice to be a random well wisher…
Thank you so much for taking the time to come over here and type this wonderful message.
You might be aware that there are no Eng subs for this series. So, when the series ends, many of us will still be hanging around, waiting for the subs and carry on with our discussion, because lots and lots of people have yet to watch it, save for those with superior understanding of Mandarin.
But WRTW is doing really well too! When TBW is done, it should be the number 1 show in China, as the latest Vlinkage index shows that the lead that TBW has over WRTW is very small.
And by now, we are fully aware that random trolls are not really fans of that drama. They just want us to think that way, to start some kind of fan war. We know their intention and will not fall for their tricks.
We who are true fans of TBW will never wish for WRTW (or any other drama, for that matter) to do badly, just to make TBW look good. There are no reasons why multiple dramas cannot do well concurrently, as they are different genres and cater to different viewers' tastes, and acted out by different leads.
True fans of TBW will never go to the MDL page of WRTW to spread message of hate. Any competition in terms of performance and viewing market share should be healthy and best left to the millions of viewers in China, not to us international fans who number just in the thousands.
The best , sweetest and beautiful moment is when they got married, they promised each other to be husband and…
I agree with you that Shiyu will make a good life partner for Lin Haoqing. She has been a very loyal assistant to him since E1. And she has matured over time. There is no season 2 for TBW, but if there is, they should have a happy married life too, just like Changyi and Ji Yunhe.
No official news, but Croton has released 3 previews on their YouTube channel over the past week or so, thus indicating…
I do not think Iqiyi and WeTv lose money, by making the subs available to international fans. Take for example, if we watch on Iqiyi, unless you pay for VIP membership, you end up watching a lot of advertisement during a drama. So, Iqiyi actually makes money from these advertisements, by charging all those companies who placed those advertisements. Croton might do the same. We may have to pay VIP membership, in order to watch TBW without any advertisements.
I'm so jealous of you right now, I wished I had patience to wait for correct sub, But, I did not, You can. You…
If you have the novel twice, and know the various in the drama, even though you do not fully understand all the dialogues, you can at least guess from their actions what is happening.

Also new to people's daily. Nice to learn new stuff.
