That will be for international viewership. They will not tabulate international viewership this early. And they will probably need Netflix to drive international viewership up highly. Not sure all the streaming platforms will be sufficient.

At the moment, YAMG can only end the year among the top 10. Not even among the top 5. So many other dramas are ahead.

Not sure about TOOL myself, as I seldom follow the dramas of the two leads there. For sure, kisses in YAMG will be very hard to top!!

Unfortunately, the latest viewership figure does not show that this drama will be the most popular drama of 2021. Earlierviewership is wrong.

I am totally cool with people having different takes on things. We bring different lenses to bear on on a drama (or even novel), and it no surprise we walk away with different responses. As such, I do not feel anything wrong with your interpretation.

I always feel that the marketplace is the best judge of a piece of a work. If this drama can garner very high viewership, it meant viewers are ok with the script, the acting and all. If performance is below expectations, everyone will need to reflect: the producer, screenwriter, director, actors/actresses, etc..

So far we can tell, acting is just about perfect. Dilraba and YY gave superb performance as the main leads. They acted according the script given to them. Which leaves us with 3 possible sources of error, if drama critics were to opine that YAMG did not meet up to expectations: The screenwriting, the directing and the producer.

Hence, I will withhold my judgement for now, because the series is still airing. We do not know the final viewership figure till next week. And crtics will give their opinions also by end of next week. When they have given their opinions, I will also make a post here to share my views.

Skibbies just gave us the correct figure above. About an hour ago, it was 2.06B and not 2.6B views. Big big difference of millions of view.

So those who report viewership figures must exercise care in doing so. Or else, we could be raising false hope.

At this rate, can only hope to reach 3B by next weekend. Hitting 4B is close to impossible. May need another 2 weeks to hit 4B, because viewership normally taper off rather quickly, once a series ends. Viewers in China begin to lose interest and start to wait for new series.

Actually, the actress who played the role of princess yicheng, the main villainess, also did well. Especially toward the end. She did come across as really evil

Oh I see. If they are praising her, they could well be praising her for her acting, not because of her importance in the drama. Although the actress was not given many scenes to act in, those scenes that she did act in, she acted very well. Her facial expressions was very good, conveying the right amount of 'evilness' in her character Mdm Jinse.

Now, this is a really good number. At 2.3B views, it is within striking distance of getting to 3B by this weekend. And getting to 4B, before The Oath of Love airs.

Edit: We can now see that the fan bases of both Reba and YY are coming out in full force to suport YAMG. They know the competition ahead. If they do not get 'fired' up now, it will be too late.
