It is always going to be a judgement call. Fourthaxis, the commentator above, said "a lot of fans" wrote and give feedback to Gu Man about making YT suffer a bit more. I do not know how many is "a lot". To me "a lot' would be in the thousands, given China's population. And many novel readers have said the novel is very short, hence Gu Man needed to add those epilogues. So, if she can react by adding those epilogues, why can't she make QJJ dangle YT a bit more?? Did she somehow develop a soft spot for the character she wrote?

For me, when an author writes a novel, the readers are the customers. If 'lots' of customers give you feedback about certain issues, it means they perceived something is lacking. Besides this issue, I do not know what other feedback she has received about her YAMG novel. If there were also 'a lot' of feedback on another issue, that shows another weakness that she should address.

This was a web novel, am I right? It would not have been all that difficult to take consider those feedback and adjust accordingly.

Apart from views per se, producer would also take into consideration the calibre of the stars involved. So, like YAMG, two of the most popular stars in China are involved. So, the producer would natually expect more views.

Reba always does that to people. After ELOD, people felt that Vengo was her best male lead, because they kissed so well there and had that bathtub scene.

Don't worry. When you watch her next drama, you are likely to feel the same way. Maybe not in The Blue whisper, because the male lead there is married, and not sure if they will do passionate kisses (the script calls for a few kisses). But I think you will feel the same way for Legend of Anle, because she will be acting with another male lead with fantastic visual.

I watched Empress Weiyoung myself and totally enjoyed that series, and also did not know they found love only during that drama. It seems that during filming, Tiffany found LJ to be a very caring person and that he would be the right man in her life. It was my first TT drama, and I found her to be a very good actress. And LJ acted well too, in that drama.

Oh, you have already started rewatching YAMG?? Their cute moments together will always be worth rewatching again and again. They are just so sweet! And there were so many of those moments, so rewatching is definitely a good way to kill time, while we wait for Monday. Sometimes, rewatching can help us see something we missed during our first viewing.

I think you should just not put too much hope that YY and Reba will act together again in another drama. Sometimes, carrying such a hope might make you very disappointed, when you see Reba keeps getting new projects, and none involves YY. Just wait for her next drama. If it happens, treat as a bonus. If it does not, at least you are not so disappointed.

I did not watch The King's Woman. I was told, that drama had a tragic ending and I just could not take it, even though I loved to watch her dramas. If she did a sort of sword dance there, it means she must have mastered sword dancing as well.

Yes, I totally agree with you. Their romance is totally unique. Kisses would just cheapen it, and reduce it to the same level as that of countless other dramas that we have seen.

Actually, there were other ways the MDL admin could have handled it, when this section was on fired. They could have told us that some of the threads were getting too long, and it was 'choking' this page. We would have gone back to delete some of our comments. Instead, they just deleted a week of our comments without telling us what was the issue. It was only later that we understood. By then, many people were really upset. It kind of destroyed the culture or mood of this place. Good thing, a few of us stayed and kept this place alive.

Today, many of the old timers are still here. We are glad it is what it is, that newcomers are still coming here to make comments and enjoying the drama the same way we did many months ago.

And it is nice that I did not answer your question earlier. In real life, the female lead is a whole 8 years older than the male lead. But, looking at their performance, you can hardly tell. They both acted so well, you feel that the ML is older than the FL.

Yes, for a costume drama, the rating of TLB could well be the highest in 2021. Unfortunately, the people at MDL are not really interested that TLB is the drama with most number of comments. It seems that the number of comments is not a statistic that they are really interested in, as they feel that sometimes fans of a drama can drive up the comments by spamming the comment section.

About Tiffany Tang and Luo Jin, very likely because of cooperation between their two agencies let them to collaborate together so many times, but it was only acting in Empress Weiyoung brought together romantically together in real life.

Yes, I totally agree with you, Reba is a very good actress, and she will always have good chemistry with whoever she is acting with. YY is not an exception. And her personality is such, she does not carry any chip on her shoulder, no matter how big a star she is. Even acting with Wu Lei in TLB, who is a whopping 8 years younger than him, she will always make him feel comfortable. After TLB, lots of their fans even wanted them to be couple in real life (despite that 8 years difference). We knew that isn't going to happen.

After The Blue Whisper, Reba will be acting with Simon Gong and that partnership is going to be a visual feast as well. After that, what project and which male star she will act with, no one knows. But, I do suspect it will not be with YY. Not for while, at least. For the moment, we are blessed with YAMG. If we miss seeing them in the same drama frame, rewatching YAMG seems the only remedy.

Ok. I can empathise with those fans. First, I do not like the part where he hugged her and told her, her 2nd approach was bad timing. To me, it almost felt that he was blaming her for him rejecting her the 2nd time. That itself should have deserved more 'dangling' from her.

Secondly, she did not really loved him all that long. When the series started, she has already forgotten what happened 10 years ago. She only knew that she still harbour some feelings for him, after all the coaching sessions. It was never her initial intention to fall for him again or to use the game an excuse to start a relationship. It just happened, as a result of those intense interaction during that one month. She discovered that those feelings were still there.

So, I tend to agree with those fans. Regardless of QJJ's level of maturity, it is not unrealistic to dangle YT a bit more. Test him a bit more, to see if he really understands the meaning of true love. It would have given more chapters to her novel, and the drama would have had a slightly thicker plot.

For TLB, I think late May, it hit slightly below 3B views. Only recently viewership jumped to 3.28B. So yes, you are correct that fans continued to give support from late May till today, so the viewership hit 3.28B, an additional of 280M views or more, after it ended its run in May.

I think people at Netflix are waiting to see if the rating can go even higher, before they buy the drama from the Tencent and show it worldwide, because judging from my 3 months' experience at the forum page of TLB, it is highly popular among international viewers. It is now the forum with highest number of comments in MDL, higher even than the forum page of popular Kdramas.

The same is going to happen to YAMG. High rating here in MDL will enhance the chance that Nextflix will pick it up and show it worldwide. The MDL is likely the forum that is most popular with international viewers. So, whatever we do here do count.
