Same here. I came from TLB, where people re-watch that drama 5-10 times. The more they watch, the more they got addicted to it. I think it will be same for YAMG.

Tencent is a money making machine. What do we expect?? They are not Salvation Army.

If a viewer watch this drama without reading the novel, or the synopsis above or the comments in this forum, no way the viewer can feel the plot just watching the first few episodes

It seems that the novel is quite short. If they move too quickly, this drama will be over in 2 weeks. So yah, meanwhile, everyone just sit and play games. Just fast forward all those games, if you are not keen about those scenes. Their interactions apart from the games are quite good. From episodes 6-8, things will start to move. This is a modern drama. Usually the plot will be simpler, compared to historical dramas.

Same here. The episodes are so short, re-watching is a breeze. And re-watching helps to pick up stuff we missed during the first viewing.

Yes, their reactions are good. But after one or two scenes showing their reactions, I do find it repetitive. I lost interest very quickly, once the novelty wears off.

But, you know what? I am extremely happy that many people like the CGI. It only means one thing: This will be good for the ratings/viewership of YAMG. So far, everything is great, not just the acting of Reba and YY. All the supporting cast is doing great. Even Gina Jin, the guest actress acting as YY's ex-GF. A good performance by YAMG is fair reward for all the hardwork put in by the entire cast, plus the production team members.

If you want me to speak honestly, then the answer is a yes. If DD is not in this drama, I will not be watching this. I am not a big fan of modern Chinese dramas. I always have this feeling, they are no match for modern Kdramas. Kdramas have great script writers and great actors/actresses. But DD is here. It makes all the difference. Her acting can match the top tier Kdrama actresses.

I do not know what JJ stand for, but DD is definitely not a silly pretty looking actress. China has billions of people. Just take a dart and throw, and chances are we will easily hit a beautiful actress. Lots of them out there. But an actress as beautiful as her, who can act as well as her, that is a real gem.

Just 8 episodes in, and we can all see, she is a natural. She plays this role effortlessly. In TLB, she had to work really hard.

I think she is saying it is thought-provoding, because one would expect only those who rate it 10 would want to encourage others to rate it that high. If you only rated it 8.5, yet want to encourage others to rate it higher than yourself, because that is what it takes, if you want the rating to hit 9, she finds it a bit paradoxical. I share her feeling.

This is one things I have learned, and I hope I am right. It seems that in drama and manhua adaptations, they always push things forward. Novel/manhua readers are extremely patient people. They can spend hours and hours reading and reading. Drama viewers on the hand want things fast. That is why lots of people just watch dramas and bypass the step of reading the novel/manhua altogether. If the drama/manhua is well adapted, we can save a lot of time. In YAMG, because the screenwriter is also the author of the novel, it is safe bet that the main storyline will stay faithful to the novel.

YAMG may even get a higher rating and more viewership than TLB. But in terms of acting range and depth, I do not think this will match her performance in TLB.

This is now only 8 episodes. If we expect kisses now, we could be expecting some bed scenes very soon. Those kind of stuff will happen a lot in US TV dramas or movies. Some of them may even get into bed in Episode 1. Not going happen in Chinese or any Asian dramas.

Haha! My friend! I placed my bets well. I betted that the drama will be close to the novel, and that the drama will do a better job than the novel in storytelling, because of the OSTs, the BGM, the cinematograhy, and our two beautiful leads and because Dilraba is the lead, we are almost always guaranteed, there will be great on-screen chemistry. Even though I did not read the novel, the plot looks really simple; I don't feel like I missed anything.

That is why they have 32 episodes instead of the original 28, despite many people saying the novel itself is quite short

I did not watch LS. I know who is the male lead in LS. I watched him in The Blessed Girl. Just a very young actor with lots to learn. He is no where near Wu Lei's level, who acted well above his age in TLB.

Those who say YAMG is too similar to LS, despite all the explanations given here about the differences between the two dramas, it would indeed be sensible and even polite to just ignore them.

This is an open forum. They are allowed to express their opinions. We have complete freedom to just ignore them. But there will also be lots of people who enjoyed LS and also enjoy YAMG. These are people who understand the differences between the two.

As for Falling into your smile, the female lead, I watched her in The World of Fantasy. What can I say? Only her die-hard fans will love that drama. She has one single facial expression throughout the drama. She also acted in Legend of Awakening. I wanted to watch it because Arthur Chen did so well in Evernight. But when I went to the page of Legend of Awakening, lots of negative comments. I did not start a single episode even though I love historical drams so much. But she transitted from being a successful singer and dancer. So, she will have lots of fans who will still watch her dramas, regardless of her performance in historical dramas.

I also avoided Falling into your smile, because I know that YAMG will be coming right after that. I was afraid of over saturating my mind with gaming stuff.

So, here I am, enjoying YAMG. Dilraba is here. Her track record shows that she will have great chemistry with whoever she is acting with, and her great chemistry with Yang Yang, and her acting will carry YAMG.

I love the CGI for the games. Its cool, cause I am totally new to gaming dramas. Even for that, one or two scenes is good enough. I know what they are capable of doing with their CGI. So, you are now the third person who said skipping it won't hurt one bit. I won't skip, but will watch with 1.5x or higher, to save time, and focus on all the non-gaming interactions.
