I always love the way you describe things. "Dilraba is beautiful inside out" Now, you are "everywhere like a butterfly". I have not seen you commenting on the page of YAMG, yet. But, I think soon you will
I do not know whose mistake it was, but there was a period not too long ago, she did not do any filming at all,…
I fully understand what you mean. In China, having a powerful Godfather like that would likely mean having famous parents or well connected relatives. I don't read much about famous actors/actresses in China, till about 3-4 years ago. There is at least one that I know, with famous parents. Many years younger than Reba, but she has acting credits twice as long as Reba's, because she started as child actress (due to her parents). I watched just one of her dramas. She is not a bad actress, but having famous parents gave her a headstart, and lots of acting opportunities.
But Reba is an Uyghur, with no powerful parents or relatives. She was already 21, when she starred in Anarharn. When she signed on with Jaywalk, they did give her some opportunities to shine, especially in modern dramas. But, and this is just my opinion, to really shine in China, you need a big hit in historical dramas. I think she got her first big break in TMOPB. Then came ELOD, and the rest, as they say, is history.
In life, we have to take what is laid on our plate. Not all of us are born with famous or powerful parents. We just have to seize whatever opportunity is given to us, do our best, and let our work and performance do the talk for us. Reba fits that category of individuals.
She is ok now, career wise. With so many historical dramas to her credit, and an equally impressive showing in modern dramas, those from China or from afar, need not worry too much about her. Many of us over at the forum page of TLB feel that playing Li Changge was quite possibly her best performance in an historical drama. She has suceeded against the odds and her best years are still ahead of her.
What amazes me is her very down-to-earth and humble personality off-screen. One commentator in TLB described her as beautiful inside out.
And so we come here to cheer her on. Her and Yang Yang, and make YAMG shine brightly over the night skies in Shanghai, over all of China, and all over the world for the next one month and beyond.

ELOD was good. Because working on that project hooked her up with director Chu. Director Chu then brought her over to TLB. And after that he pulled her over to The Blue Whisper. You could say, informally, Director Chu was like a 'Godfather' to her. He really trusted in her acting talents. He gave her the wings to fly.
Dilraba is really hardworking . She already signed 5+ drama . If i am not wrong 2 of them were filmed this year…
I do not know whose mistake it was, but there was a period not too long ago, she did not do any filming at all, for nearly 8-9 months. If you look at her drama list, in 2019 not a single drama was aired, which was really unusual for a top actress like her. Nearly a year of her precious time was wasted. She and her team will not let that happen anymore.
After her huge suceess in TLB, producers and directors would be lining up to sign her up for new projects and she is going to get more say in choosing scripts.
falling into your smile ( modern drama ) or goodbye, my princess (ancient drama) !!
It is amazing how you managed to watch so many dramas, at normal speed too!! Some of the dramas you mentioned, like Princess Silver, are very long! For Princess Silver, I had to fast forward many scenes, just to finish it.
Can’t believe the drama is almost here! 😊 YAY!!! So very excited to see one of my favorite couples in a novel…
These days, it is more or less purely Chinese dramas for me, as there are so many of them every year! I am particularly fond of historical dramas, and China produces a great many of them every year. Yet watching them can make one sad. Especially all those that show young princesses having to marry off at tender young age as part of a marriage alliance. That is what made TLB so precious, that Li Changge was such an atypical Tang Princess. Watching TLB actually made me do research and understand the ancient practice of Heqin.
I can tell that the crowd here is younger. Modern dramas normally draw a younger crowd. But it is ok. Let us enjoy interacting with the younger crowd here.
I have read all of Gu Man's translated novels but have yet to see any of the drama adaptations. My first drama…
She had five year to work on this, so she probably wrote most of the dialogue. There is no doubt the storyline will stay faithful the novel. But things can change a lot during these five years. There were other dramas of this same genre that aired. While staying true to her own novel, she will somehow also need to make this somewhat different. I have not read the novel. Perhaps the plot itself is enough to do that. Or, perhaps, just the star acting power of Dilraba and Yang Yang will be sufficient to carry this drama and turn into extraordinary, even if the plot itself is simple and not too extraordinary.
I guess we will know soon enough. Just about a day to go.

Thank you for the two photos that you uploaded. I absolutely love the close up one, showing Dilraba sleeping in Yang Yang's lap, him with his hand on his chin. Even with her eyes closed, she looked absolutely adorable.

The last that she did was Love020?? Am I right? That was in 2016, five years ago. Hope she did not get 'rusty'. That is the downside. On the plus side, it means, she has had lots and lots of time to work on the script for YAMG. Should be a good one!
