The real romance will start after the game event so far they kinda made the gaming part a bit fast it's only ep…
Great!! I am fast forwarding all the gaming scenes. Ismail below just said I will lose nothing. Watched 8 episodes, with ff mode once I see any gaming stuff. Don't feel that I have missed anything. Looking forward to the part where they deal more intensively with life issues.
There must be lots of gaming dramas for younger audience who are more into gaming. But my own impression, after watching 8 episodes, is that they are targetting this drama for slightly older audience. Even the humour used is unlike those fluffy high school or teenage rom-com.
Anyone who feels that the gaming parts were meaningless should watch FIYS first while anyone who feels that they…
I am gratified to know that those gaming scenes will be slowly reduced to zero. And that even now, skipping those gaming scenes will mean that I will lose nothing from this drama. Because I am fast fowarding all those scenes. No matter how visually appealing Dilraba and Yang Yang are, there is nothing fascinating to watch two big stars staring at those mobile phones and hitting those buttons. Only those who love those computer games will love those scenes. They can well watch those scenes in slow motion.
The story takes a while to get into, ep 6 and I'm still bored. The only reason I'm going on is because ive waited…
I share some of your sentiments. I am not into gaming, so I just fast forward lots of the gaming scenes. The plot is simple, and that might make it a bit boring. But, like you, I love the acting of the two main leads. And I also know that the story will get better, once we move beyond those games.
So far, Dilraba and Yang Yang are carrying the drama, not the plot. Their on-screen chemistry is great. They have even more screen time together as a couple than Li Changge and Ashile Sun in TLB.
I wrote a longer impression piece on my feed, but to summarise the first 8 episodes:- the gaming part can be shortened-…
I like the gaming part to be shortened as well. The chemistry is great. But I do find their acting pretty good so far. Dilraba's acting is totally natural and believable as the actress QJJ. I am new to Yang Yang, but he seems to playing his role well. He has that slightly depressed look, but we can understand. He has girlfriend issue, career issue, parents with health issues. Who in that situation would not be slightly depressed?
I canβt wait to binge watch this drama since there are already up to 8 episodes with English subs!
Don't binge watch, if you do wish to take part in the discussion here. If you binge watch, by the time you are done and want to discuss, you will going over lots of 'old' stuff (for people who have already discussed those topics).
I see some people are complaining about the gaming part and find it boring. A lot of people are comparing it to…
I will be completely honest. I am one of those who do not like too much of those games. We watch a drama to see the actor/actresses' acting ability, their interactions, and so on, and not seeing them hitting their mobile phone all the time. I am not into games, so I do find all the gaming stuff boring. But, I also know that gaming is all part of the plot and the later part of the drama will get interesting. My coping strategy is really simple. Just fast forward all the game stuff, and concentrate on their interactions. But I am impressed by the CGI used for the games. I don't really need all that many scenes though. A few scenes is good enough to show me what they can do with their CGI, so I just fast forward lots of the gaming scenes.
This is no different from watching Eternal Love of Dream. Lots of people just ignore the beginning arc and still find the rest of the drama very enjoyable and did not lose anything at all.
I love how they showed gaming parts. Other dramas didn't even show it because their budget couldn't afford to…
Ok. A humble and slight disagreement. For her modern drama, maybe this could well be her best performance. But this role is just plain far too simple for her. That does not mean I do not like it. Simple in the sense that she is a successful 21st century actress playing another successful actress in the same time period, with rather similar profile (same age, marital status).
I feel that playing Li Changge was her best showing. She was 28 when TLB was filmed. She had to play a character that was about 14, a full 14 years younger than her actual age, and in a completely different time period.
What amazed me thus far about Dilraba. The seamless transition from playing an historical figure to a modern character. It is as if she just flipped a switch and changed from Li Changge to becoming QJJ just like that. What an amazing acting range and versatility.
Ok asking a classmate for free classes with 12 hour shift is too much isn't it? I would be really mad in his place.
Folks, am I right that she already found out he has lots of free time?? If so, asking a former classmate who has lots of free time on his hand is not too much. And her character is quite consistent so far. She is the proactive type. In school, she took the initiative to ask if she could be his girlfriend. And now, she is just being proactive by taking the initiative to improve her gaming skill.
After school, she ended up being an actress. Actresses, most of them anyway, are sociable people. They need to be, in order to be successful. Aerospace people are highly technical people. They tend to be less sociable (compared to actresses).
She is not pestering. But just being proactive and a highly sociable person. She once had a crush on him. But she is very considerate. She only made a move on him, when she found out that he had broken up with his girlfriend and his latest meeting with her did not turn out well.
I did not read the novel too. But this is what I got from the drama thus far. I do not find her character in the drama overbearing or unreasonable in anyway.
Dilireba's acting here seems so natural, as if she's playing herself with another name.
Totally. Must be her simpliest role in a modern drama. She just needed to be herself in real life. She is poplular single actress who is 29, playing a popular single actress who is 29. Out of all the big cities in China, Shanghai is where she is most loved. She will feel so at home. She will ace this drama.
I migrated from the page of TLB. My first impression? Effortless transition for Dilraba, from historical drama to modern drama. She did not have to labour at all. Playing QJJ must be one of the simpliest roles for her. I didn't feel that she was acting at all. Like she was just being herself. All of her mannerisms here, very similar to all the BTS we saw in TLB.
I cannot comment on Yang Yang's performance, as this is the first of his drama that I am watching. With leave that to those who have watched him in his previous dramas.
But their chemistry is good. Very relaxed interaction between Dilraba and Yang Yang. I fully expected this, because Reba has had great chemistry with all of her previous male leads.
With just 8 episodes in, can see the vast difference between an historical and modern drama. This is simpler, plot wise. Ending OST is great. Has a nicer melody than opening OST (just my view). BGM is great. View of the night sky over Shanghai is great.
Read all the comments made by all of you. Fully expect this to be a great one.
I do not know whose mistake it was, but there was a period not too long ago, she did not do any filming at all,…
Having Yang Mi as her boss at Jaywalk is a joke. Outwardly, they appear as good friends. But Yang Mi is just 5 years older than Reba and basically whatever Reba can do, Yang Mi can do and vice versa. It would be ridiculous to say they do not compete for good scripts.
And just about everyone knows that Yang Mi is treated like a queen at Jaywalk, leaving all the other actresses, including Reba, to pick up scraps.
ELOB only slipped through Yang Mi's fingers, because so many fans were clamouring for a follow-up to TMOPB, because Reba did so well as Baifengjui, and Vengo as Donghua Dijun.
From hereon, she will no longer be at Yang Mi or Jaywalk's mercy.
Thank you for the links! The BTS of Yang Yang and Reba are so precious and sweet. There has been so much content…
Just massive amount of promo. If only they had done that Happy Camp episode way before time and aired it before 26 July, would have been perfect. But having it first week of August or early 2nd week isn't all that bad, given all these other stuff
What 5 dramas did she sign up for? I only know that she recently finished Blue Whisper Part 1, now Legend of Anle,...my…
I had the same question. You listed 3. Maybe LinZin is referring to two other rumoured dramas. But if they are rumoured dramas, we can't really say she signed up for those. So, what are the remaining two she signed up for?? Good question.
