In that case TLB would have matched your taste, almost completely. I know you said previously, chemistry should be felt, and not something that needs to be analysed or explained.
I do not know how open a person you are. If you are, I can engage you and persuade you otherwise. Most dramas, I don't bother to do this. But this drama is a bit special, because of the plot and characters in the story. For instance, some viewers may not even be aware that the FL was only 14 years old in Episode 1 and she grew up as a tomboy.
Like I said, only you are game to discuss. If you feel that there is no such necessity, it is ok. We can leave it at that.
Guys, I'm still thinking until now! Let's solve this theory.. do you think the wedding scene in the 2nd teaser…
Wish I could help you. But I did not read the novel, so I hardly know what the story is all about, apart from the synopsis here in MDL, and watching the trailers. Guess I want to be totally surprised by the drama?
But here is my theory. Most viewers like a drama with a happy ending, and there is no better ending than a wedding (maybe wedding plus kids?). So, that wedding scene could either be the ending scene itself, or somewhat related to the ending scene.
ANOTHER GAMING drama !!! china i s developing in everything except scriptwriting :( I love the main actors but…
The Chinese market is huge. Even for the gaming genre, there is variety in terms of plots and themes and even the target audience, and also the actors and actresses. Often, gaming is only used as a context. The emphasis or underlying theme varies quite a bit from one gaming drama to the other.
I deliberately stayed away from Falling into your smile as it was positioned as a rom-com and, knowing the actors and actresses there, it was targetted for a younger audience, compared to You are my glory. Hence, I avoided it, to prevent myself from being over-saturated with gaming drama. I am also a fan of Dilraba dramas and don't really fancy those very young leads, so avoiding Falling into your smile makes perfect sense.
So, there is nothing wrong with the gaming genre itself. Pick your drama wisely and you will not be bored.
By the time you finished watching The Long Ballad, you will agree with many of us here, the FL is one of the strongest,…
That is excellent! It shows that this drama matches your taste, and you have understood the plot. Keep going. It gets better and better with each episode. The FL will make some mistakes. But she will learn from her mistakes and keeps getting smarter
Should I give this a try? I need to find another xianxia / historical or wu xia to fill in the big hole left by…
This is a drama with a very strong female lead. There is greater emphasis paid to her character growth, than to her romance with the male lead, although there are many sweet moments between the female lead and the male lead. It is worthwhile, if you want to watch a drama with great emphasis on character growth. The music is great. All the acting by the actors and actresses are great. Action sequences are good.

Oh, I think that link might explain the chemistry. Many of us do feel it through their excellent body language, eye gazes. and their many one-on-one communication. So, when this drama was aired, the ML and FL leads won many couples award in China. We discussed this many months ago, here in this forum.
But we are also aware. Chemistry is a very subjective thing. Some also don't feel it, so it is completely ok.
Are they also going to do cp promotional events together?
Dilraba has gone off to film another drama. Whatever promotional event must have already been filmed previously, but not yet aired. Will just have to wait and see if there are those. It is still possible.
Despite the slow last 10 eps, this drama is still good. The leads are both good on their own, strong fl and strong…
Oh dear. You go to the Recent Discussion section above. Look out for a link started by Kaju and commented on by others. The link is entitled: For the people, who want to be clear whether Changge loved Sun enough.
I did!! I have been around the page of TLB since early May, engaging with all the people there, and watched TLB so many times, in order to respond to questions asked by people. So, I have listend to her voice in TLB many times. I am totally convinced that it is not her real voice.
Please see the link above, sent by centauri.
There is a good reason why all the voices of the big stars are dubbed. They are good enough to dub their own voice. I know for sure Reba can do it. But the big stars have many projects lined up for them. It will just be cheaper and faster to use professional dubbers.
I believe that is the case for Reba. When she finished filming TLB, she must been preparing to film YAMG.
I will not be surprised if the same happened for YAMG. When she finished filming YAMG, she was getting ready for The Blue Whisper. They may use her real voice for the trailers, to promote the drama. But in the drama, when aired, her voice might be dubbed.
We shall see, when the drama is aired. If she uses her real voice, they will not show the name of the dubber, or they will show, and her name will appear, showing that she dubbed her own voice.
Is it just me or does Changge just become more annoying to watch? Got to ep 24 and she's basically a spoiled princess…
It is not you. It is part of the drama, the story telling. This is the way the screenwriters have written her character. And Episode 24 is just part of her journey in the grasslands. She has to learn, first hand, how wicked Yicheng is, so that she will learn from her mistake, to become stronger and wiser. In later episodes, she will out-think and out-smart Yicheng.
They have to do it this way, for her character to be more realistic. If she does not make any mistake, she will be less real and less relatable.
I would like to second MK916. This drama is really good. The popular leads all acted very well. The story is great.…
That is good! Watching dramas is like eating fruits. If the fruit suits your taste, you will love it. Likewise, if TLB matches your taste, you are absolutely going to love it. Please enjoy your journey.
Really? I have been at the MDL page of TLB for more than 2 months. No one there seems to think that Reba dubbed her own voice. Only Liu Yuning dubbed his own voice.
Now, you really got me curious
We are international fans, so we may not know how to verify it. I am told that fans from China would know, because they would show the name of the dubbers with each episode.
There is a fan from China who is here on this page. Hope she reads this and can help us verify
Just sharing this. When the trailer for The Long Ballad came out, they were shown with Reba and Wu Lei's real voices. But when the drama was actually aired, their voices were dubbed.
Drove me crazy in the long ballad that Changge and Ashil Sun were supposed to be in love and be intimate but you…
If you go over The Long Ballad page and ask, someone will explain to you why there are no kissing scenes between Li Changge and Ashile Sun. After that, you may appreciate that drama even more
Calling all Reba fans who are here. You are my glory will be aired next week!! We will cheer her and Yang Yang from next week till likely end of August. And then early next year, we will cheer her and Allen Reng in The Blue Whisper. A year from now, we will be cheering her and Gong Jun in The Legend of Anle.
