The typical crybaby girl leyan stole the show? While people keep asking why in the hell would they add leyan character…
People are free to make their comments, and are entitled to their own opinions. I think we are matured enough to respect that.
But, please do give good reasons. Why do you like the 2nd leads more?? Give solid reasons. The 2nd leads have more chemistry, some people say. What makes you say that?? What is your evidence?
If the only reason you can give for whatever you say is, "Oh, I am a big fan of the 2nd leads", then, it is best not to stick around too long, because that is a non-reason.
People here will challenge you to give reasons for what you say, and ask you to back up with evidence. We respect your opinions. But, we are not stupid.
If you do not like to be challenged, after making sweeping statements, then, it is best to leave. For your own happiness and the happiness of the people who are here
wow i haven’t been on here in a while and the first day back i found so many funny comments. wow didn’t know…
Elegant answers. But folks, we do not need to get worked up by comments from insanitysane. I am not even sure there is a real person behind that name. Or it is just a trojan horse. Just make provocative remarks and then get us all worked up
So when you view a curve on a two dimensional paper, with only two axes/dimensions, the curve is really easy to…
Your answer is very interesting. You are saying the love between Asun and Changge left a deeper impression in your memory than the love between Leyan and Hau Do? Will you be able to explain why this is so?
Let me try to ask the question another way. In your opinion, what is the difference between the love between Asun and Changge, and that between Leyan and Hao Do?
When love is examined with brain imaging, the "lit" areas overlap with those that support reward-seeking and goal-oriented…
I see. I am curious. Does your understanding of how the brain process romantic love help us understanding TLB better, in anyway?? For instance, does it help us understand why Ashun would fall in love with Changge and Leyan with Hao Do??
Finally finished. The FL and ML other than going to each others rescue don't seem to really be the romantic types.…
Where did they end up? You watched the final scene of the final episode? They were in the grassland.
Who became Khan? Not from this drama. And also, not the main focus of this drama. The main focus is the journey of the main protaganist, Li Changge. Her journey from seeking revenge to seeing the greater good that peace and forgiveness bring.
Revenge was not build entirely on misunderstanding, only part of it. Her uncle did kill her biological father. And, according to history, Li Simin killed a lot of people, in order to become the next emperor. They cannot show that in the drama, or it will not pass the censors. Li Simin was a Chinese hero. Their best emperor, according to Chinese history.
In the drama, Li Simin was very kind to Li Changge, which is only a fictional charater. The real Li Sim killed to get what he want. You will have to decide whether that is ethical or not. The drama does not address that issue.
You asked, who became Khan? You can then also ask, what did the next Khan do? And so on and so on. There will be no end. Is it fair for a 49 episode drama to answer all that many question? Taking a history course may provide better answers.
What happened to the tribes? Not fully answered in the drama. Again, also not terribly important, in the context of this drama. But, if you google, you can find some stuff in wikipedia that talks about the relationship between the Tang Dynasty and the Eastern Turkic Khaganate.
If the drama is to answer all the answers about the tribe, we may need 94 episodes, not 49
I am not trying to badger you nor be sarcastic. Just saying, this is a 49 episode drama, based on a fictitional character written in an uncompleted manhua (comic). It can only do so much. It only aimed to that do that much, telling us the story of this young princess and her adventures.
I do not think it was ever the intention of the manhua writer to give us a history lesson. I did not read the manhua, but commentators here who have read the manhua said in the comics, there is even less romance between the ML and FL, compared to what they saw in the drama.
There are so many life lessons we can learn from the journey of Li Changge that makes romance seem grossly overrated. The change in her values, her motivation, her life goals; and her willingness to take risks, to learn, and to grow. These are main dishes that the producer and the director wish to serve. Romance is just the dessert.
So what is the concept of "depth", "romance", "insight", "maturity" to you, may I ask?
Even for physical touch, there is sufficient of those between Li Changge and Asun. Just look at the number of times they held hands. And the way they held hands. Especially in episode 31, when they were running away from their pursuers. Not only were they holding hands, look at the way Changge was looking at Asun. They were looks that said, wow, this guy cares for me. If that is not romantic, I don't know what is.
And there were lots of loving hugs between Li Changge and Asun. Unless we say those were not physical touch, because they were both fully clothed. If only physical touch between two unclothed persons count as romantic, I suppose only X rated movies have romance?
Absolutely agree with many of the comments. It simply makes no sense to me, not just here, but so many other threads in this comment section, that people would find the 2nd couple more interesting than the first, or that the 2nd couple has more chemistry than the first.
In terms of screen time, the 1st couple is way ahead of the 2nd. And romance between the 2nd couple only started around episode 42, which is way toward the end of the series, while affection between the 1st couple started way before that. So, if they find the 2nd couple more interesting or have more chemistry, quite honestly, they should not be watching TLB. There is just so miserably little for them to watch. They should wait for the next drama: The legend of Leyan and Hao Du.
While looking for Leyan, Hao Du was not looking for a lover but a missing princess. Whilst Asun was looking for the one he loved, when she went missing. Those who find looking for a missing princess more interesting than finding someone you love, should watch a Chinese drama called, Finding my Dear Princess.
TLB is about Li Changge. This is her journey, her story. If Dilraba is a lousy actress, she would not be consistently ranked among the one or two actors in China for the past many weeks. Likewise Wu Lei, always ranked among the top 10. This could have only happened because Chinese audience found their chemistry to be unbelievably good. They both portrayed their role very well. International viewers who want to know how most viewers feel the chemistry between Dilraba and Wu Lei do not have to look very far. Just sample some of the comments in this forum. Very likely only Zhao Lusi fans say chemistry between the 1st leads are bad compared to the 2nd leads. And they are way outnumbered in this forum.
I have a message for all Zhao Lusi fans. If you think that she is a great actress. No need to worry. She has a drama coming up. Very likely rolled out next year. That will prove whether she can excel beyond her comfort zone of doing romantic comedy. Until then, please do not come here and start a fan war.
Lusi is young. She will have plenty of opportunities to showcase her acting talents.
For TLB to succeed, the last thing on earth we need is for her fans to come here and say that the 2nd couple is more interesting and has more chemistry than the first. That just does not stand up in any kind of meaningful scrutiny or debate, and it will also drive people away from watching this drama that is clearly so dear to so many people in this forum.
Fans of both Lusi and Dilraba should unite and make TLB a great success, so that more people will watch this great drama and be blessed.
Li Changge and Asun fought for peace between the Tang people and the Turks. Yet there are people trying to start a war in this community by claiming the 2nd couple is more interesting than the 1st.
I just want them to zoom in and unblur the left side of the parrot scene.
If he has a 'no kissing' term in his contract, the director will have to honour that. And Wu Lei will also have to honour that, even if he is an adult. Otherwise, having that term makes no sense. All this would have been already clarified, what can or cannot be done, even before filming begins
I just want them to zoom in and unblur the left side of the parrot scene.
I will be honest. I did not exactly measure how far apart they were standing from each other during those hugs. But those times they hugged each other, and there were quite a few, it was enough to convince me they communicated to each other: I care for you, you are important to me, I do not want you to get into any trouble.
I guess that is one of the reasons why many commentators said the chemistry between 1st two leads (Wu Lei and Dilraba) is just through the roof, despite no physical kisses?
I just want them to zoom in and unblur the left side of the parrot scene.
I hope I did not misquote PeachBlossomGoddess. If I did, I apologise. I assure you, I have nothing against his mother. But someone here in this forum did say that because of his age, his mother controls his contractual agreements, what kinds of scenes he can or cannot do in a drama. This does make a lots of sense to me, since Wu Lei started off as a child actor.
Quite possibly, it was his mother who put him in touch with producers and directors for those roles. Hence, over time, mother exercised control over contractual issues.
We will never know for sure, unless we see physical copies of all those contracts. But, given Wu Lei's young age, yeah, it would not be unreasonable to hypothesize that it was his mother who put "no kissing" terms into his contracts.
More so in TLB, when his role placed him in such close physical contact with an actress known for her beauty. He was 21 when this drama was filmed?? Dilraba has done many kissing scenes in the past. She will just brush it off after each movie and move on.
I am not entirely sure how Wu Lei will react though, if he kisses Dilraba mouth to mouth (the way Vengo did in ELOD). That poor kid may well get the 'wrong' message.
So, if his mother was out to protect him, I can fully understand. I will hardly blame her. Kissing scenes are highly overrated anyway. Love and affection can be expressed in so many other ways.
No mess. Some viewers were displeased with the animation used when Ashun saved Changge from the burning building.…
I think the use of as many animals as possible in this drama is not an accident. Many of the actions took place on the grassland where there are bountiful number of animals. Grassland makes us think of nature. And what would be nature, without animals?
So I think it is the deliberate effort of the director to make use of all these animals, and often even gave them prominent roles, to show greater realism.
Ok, ok. I know why many of you do not like those two parrots. I hear you.
Do you recall when Changge was rescued by the sifu and the elderly physician? Their cart was driven by a donkey. And the scene actually started with a really close up shot of the donkey. I could be wrong, but that donkey brought them all the way to the Liuyun Taoist monastory.
It is my luck to come across this drama, I absolutely loved it. This drama may not be perfect drama but it is…
Same for me. I read comments by others, but normally would not join in, as I felt that the ratings and comments are quite fair
But for TLB, at one stage, the ratings were really low. And many comments were simply unfair.
So I joined and rated it 10/10. And join the other to defend this great drama.
Some commentators are really unfair. If you read their comments, very often, they do not make sense. Some come in here to sold disharmony, to turn one group against another. I feel so sad.

You have company. I found it perfect too! I am not really too disturbed by that fire scene in the last episodes, even though some found it not too ideal. I share many of your sentiments regarding TLB
In fact on this TLB set ... lots of actors worked together before. It's like a mini reunion on the set. There's…
Someone posted this quite a while ago. I remember seeing the BTS of the dancing Khan. But I cannot remember where it is now. There are also clips of Dilreba dancing. I saw that too and also cannot remember where. Hopefully the people who reads this comment will repost it for all of us??
Although I watched it raw, I’m now still saving the last two episodes dear to my heart and can’t seem to watch…
No need to say goodbye. After your last two episodes, you can always re-watch. Either all, or just your favourite episodes. A month from now, many people will still be hovering around this comment section and you can still share your joy and happiness or sadness of the different episodes.
