It doesn’t grab your heart cause they tone down the torture part.
I know. Lots of historical dramas, they have some torture scenes. Like torturing criminals, in order to get some information. Even in those scenes, they have toned it down drastically. Usually the camera will pan away, leaving us to imagine the scars, etc. Something like that.
I did not read the novel. My guess that the torture in the novel could be far worse than that. Perhaps they decided that since they cannot show all the extreme torture, putting some blood on Changyi may not make too much sense. Or may not really evoke sadness.
Also, I feel that they want to position this drama as a romance drama. So, highlighting their love story will be more effective in doing that. Too much of those torture scenes will only distract us from the main theme of love and romance between Changyi and Ji Yunhe. And, also both Dilraba and Allen are great in acting out romance scenes. So, I feel that we are indeed going to get lots of sadness from Part 2.

I think they have chosen to evoke sadness through the relationship between Ji Yunhe and Changyi, rather than through those torture, because they know that many of those torture scenes will not pass the censors.
This is the difference we must understand, between novel and drama. The director is very experienced. He knows what will and what will not pass the censors. No point filming something that will not pass the censors. Will just be a waste of everyone's time.

Fox princess mentioned something about her Aunt? My mandarin sucks! What does CY say to her after he blocks her…
Qing Shu must be the younger sister of the King of the Fox Clan. That is why she was so powerful and she was able to pass something rather powerful to Ji Yunhe.
I have finished the first one, my heart feels sad and happy when I see Changyi can help Jiyunhe and they meet…
I think both our leads and the entire cast worked really hard on this drama. We can see this very clearly in all the BTS videos. For those with sharp eyes, you might have caught Dilraba wearing that anti-fever strip to lower her temperature and continue shooting, even though she had a high fever when they were filming this drama. Those videos also show Allen working hard on his various stances for the different scenes. Both of them did their own stunts, instead of using body doubles.
Even Cristy Guo Xiao Ting did her own stunts. There is one scene when she was thrown violently. That one, perhaps a body double was used. And the scene when she danced? Perhaps she is not a very good dancer, so they blurred or somewhat distorted her body movements, which made a lot of us felt giddy. Otherwise, she did an excellent job as Princess Shunde. I think she is going to continue her fine performance in Part 2, and, after TBW, may well land roles as a FL in future dramas.
Likewise for HYX, who has huge amount of screentime in Part 1. She too will benefit from her fine performance in TBW. Ditto for Fan Zhen, Chi Sha, Xiao Shun Yao, Hai Yi Tian and Lu Yan Bei.
Although lots of us felt that even more screentime should be given to Changyi and Ji Yunhe, it is amazing that when do they come on after all those supporting cast, their screen presence can be immediately felt. I think that is why are in the leads in a big budget drama like this? When we watch Dilraba and Allen, they just blend into their characters. We see Ji Yunhe and Changyi in front of us, and not Dilraba and Allen. We can feel the energies of their presence much more than we do for the supporting cast. The 'quality' of their presence made up for those times when they were not infront of us, and the power of their acting is just so apparent.
So, now we go on to Part 2, where we are going to see more of our two leads, and, likely, less of the supporting cast.
Many of those who read the novel said Part 2 is the best. If Part 1 is already this popular, one can only imagine…
Agree. But, visually those scenes could be too gruesome on the screen. When young, I watched some of those old Hollywood movies involving Roman gladiators, how they plunged their swords into their opponents, drawing blood that oozed out from their bodies. By today's standards, those will be too much for us to bear. Those kind of scenes may cause us to have nightmares. So, in some ways, I am glad they toned it down in the drama.

For more than 30 years, I taught in the institution of higher learning in one of the best tertiary institutes in my country. One of the things I have always sought to impart to my students is for them to learn to think for themselves and not follow rules blindly. Or else, societies will never change and improve.
Btw where are the people? avg drama allen and dilraba which rated at least 4000-12000 people and this only 200…
Don't worry. Lots of people yet to rate. When the subs are here, so will hundreds of Dilraba fans from the pages of TLB and YAMG. Them and Allen's fans, and neutrals who just enjoy this drama even when they are not fans of either leads.
When the subs are out, they will be here to rate. The number of raters will not be 200 or 300 people. It will be in thousands. By then, all the low raters' effort will be negated. We usually get 'fair' rating when it is up to about 1000 raters.
All of Dilraba recent dramas are rated between 8.7 to 8.8 and Allen's recents ones 8.4 to 8.7. Right now, we are below the statistical average of their recent dramas.

Here, let me do you a favour. I have googled for you: This saying implies that there are times when we should think for ourselves and not obey every rule blindly.

That is one of the reasons. The other reason is that they are screened very close apart and the two parts flow seamlessly. If they are screened two years apart, or the two parts are not connected, there will be no issue.
It is not just for my convenience, but for all future users of the MDL pages. I do feel that decisions like this ought to be made on a case by case basis, depending on how connected are the two parts, how far apart are the two parts screened.
If the story of the two parts flow seamlessly, and the two parts are screened very close to each other, regardless of what the producer does, for the sake of hundreds or even thousands of MDL users, MDL should always consider putting both parts into a single page.
