I was hoping to get to watch Lee Jong-suk in this drama but Disney+ is a no go for me. I chose years ago not to patronize the ‘dark side’ so LJS’s 2017 SBS drama WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING will have to be my last LJS drama.
This is a pass for me. The problem for me is that the source material which is the basis for this sageuk, web novel "Surviving as Yeonsan-gun's Chef" by Park Kook-jae specifies who the king in the drama is based on. According to the following Wikipedia article on King Yeonsangun he is, “ Often considered the worst tyrant in Joseon's history and perhaps all Korean history,” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeonsangun_of_Joseon Do we really need a foodie sageuk about this tyrant?
Okay I understand the reason why the professor is hard on him
I am current through episode 14 and you are right about the ‘slow burn’. I like that the young guy is staying around. Lou Qing is right about the two of them are almost 30 yet she is rationalizing difficulties more so than Fan Kun.

When I read your first comment, my thought was, ‘you will find out’ lol. Glad you reached that point in the drama. I am current through episode 10 and loving this drama. I will be watching episodes 11&12 now available on iQIYI tonight.
THE LOST NATIONAL TREASURE on iQIYI just recently came on my radar. I became a fan of Bai Yu Fan after watching his wonderful performance in the great RIPE TOWN in 2023.
I enjoyed episode one. A LOT of characters were introduced and BYF’s (as grad student in archaeology) character had a lot of snappy dialogue so it all meant a bit of replaying of scenes. His character has a certain twinkle in his eye and I am looking forward to the story.
I would think it is too late for Netflix. We would have known by now if Netflix had licensed ONE. As a US viewer I have fingers crossed that ONE will be picked up by Viki.
Youth romantic dramas are generally not my forte but I really enjoyed episode one of SPRING OF YOUTH. The episode moved right along. The leads are dramatic blank slates for me but the three leads seem to have good handles on their roles. I am looking forward to see where the story takes them.
I enjoyed episode one but I won’t be surprised if PUMP UP THE HEALTHY LOVE generates heated reactions like (for different reasons) DARE TO LOVE ME did last year.

Park Soo-oh (Park Sang-hoon) has grown up! Lovely performance.
Glad you reached that point in the drama.

Can you tell me about the quality of subtitles so far for this drama?
