Yeah I feel they should just allow flexibility in dialogues !! I don't still understand what's wrong with bl ??…
Wait, what has societal acceptance to do with recognizing gay/minority rights? People fight for those rights not to promote or flaunt, but because we believe everyone deserves to be equally treated under the law. So when a hate crime happens or they get violated, the attacker gets punished and the victim protected. And let's be honest some of the countries you mentioned not only 'frown upon' homosexuality but actively persecute people. Your story about London reminded me about sth that happened in my country recently, when two guys got knived on the street and a politician, who's known for brainless comments, said they should have expected it just like football fans of one team going on the territory of another team... Yeah, to me it's the same rhetoric as rape victim blaming - since a woman was walking alone at night... Society is full of prejudices, but just as I'm unwilling to live in a cage, I'm not gonna put anyone else in it for their 'safety'. Anyway, I'm also excited for this new genre sparked by TU and WOH and hope for more great love stories to come:)
I love how episode 18 WKX and ZZS were like "we'll turn any situation into a date. watch us flirt!"
Yes! They're getting so playful with each other<3 I liked the running joke on bringing nothing but trouble since they met, when we know it's been their greatest happiness;)
I always love seeing ZZS & WKX go into battle together. I also loved the dramatic scene of ZZS jumping off the…
Yes, the jumping scene! The look in ZZS's eyes and GJ's insanely beautiful hand outstretched to catch him<3 the cabinet part was a bit like watching Indiana Jones just with cute teasing:) ...and blunt sarcasm. YBY's becoming my favourite, I think.
So no comments on ep18?? It really has everything - awkward family moments, ZZS letting loose, YBY's own brand of sarcasm, declarations of feelings, life saving, physical affection, WKX threatening to burn the world, flying cut sleeves, the whole package:D I guess the finale overshadowed this outstanding episode;)
Zhang Zhe Han is indeed surprising me here. I am familiar with him from The Legend of Yunxi but I didn't really…
LOL, AB has awful direction. But GJ's acting is something else... It's like he can't even control his face:) At least 70% of my enjoyment of that series came from GJ's acting skills:D
just saw clip of simon's first BL drama on youtube not intestinally and I didn't feel comfortable at all ,, Simon…
Of course, it's a gay love story:) Very obvious by the end. Do people really need kissing/sex/declarations to recognize romance, when the MLs basically live with each other, sleep in one bed and go on dates?! So give this one a pass. Gong Jun looks younger than the other lead actor but he's still firmly in his twenties.
Completely agree:) I have stopped watching cdramas just because I couldn't bear watching another childish tantrum…
Yes, this should be tagged as a 'historical romance'! Because it clearly is:) I really think it surpassed the 'censored adaptation' tag. Let's see if it sparks a new genre.
So this was FUN! As in there were moments I laughed so hard my stomach ached fun:) Also much less silly than I expected. Gotta admit Gong Jun's acting added greatly to my merriment. He really doesn't have a 'resting' face. He's so expressive, his face's always showing ...something. I'm just not sure he controls what;) I really wish this series got a better director though.

LOL you just made my day! I'd love that tag. I'd live by that tag;) Especially as they're getting sneakier now. Like you're already a few episodes in, thinking the FL is reasonable and then the toddler moments strike out of nowhere?! I'd also love a tag for "won't insult your intelligence" for all those scenes that defy all logic and random plotlines never to be explained;)
The popularity of WOH is not simply because of its BL/bromance contents. Its intriguing plot, interesting characters…
Completely agree:) I have stopped watching cdramas just because I couldn't bear watching another childish tantrum on screen. When I came back to watch TU, I thought that maybe if you take off the pressure of being a 'love interest', then you can actually build more complex female characters. Personally, I watch/read a lot of BL content but I can completely see the appeal for wider audiences. Isn't it a bit like watching Jane Austen adaptation, where deep affection is built over the course of insightful conversations (aka outrageous flirting;)), long soulful looks, supporting or standing up for each other, and slowly becoming part of each others lives. I feel like it fits this quasi-historical world of courtesies and traditions really well. WOH shows that making series is a teamsport. Money doesn't matter if you have a good script, clever directing and editing, and decent actors.
I'm savouring this drama like the most fragrant tea:) I think it's honestly one of the best series I have watched in recent years. I have huge weakness for uncompromising psychos on screen so in love with Shang laoban:D
TU is not only the classic but also is pioneer for successful "bromance/BL series" in China. I loves Xiao Zhan…
Yep, totally absurd. XZ interviews are the saddest thing ever. And still ongoing? Cause I think I saw 'Xiao zhan RIP' just this week on YT?! Is the pandemic to blame, cause this level of viciousness is just sth else. Hope WOH will stay blissfully drama-free...
