One of my favourite things in this series is how many things are left unsaid between them but obviously understood.
Sigh, can't get enough of them lol.

Well, let's be honest, WKX's behaviour was super suspicious at the start:) I don't think A-xu would've let the distance drop between them so quickly, if it weren't for the pure-hearted flute playing..

OK, I just finished ep6 and I find the plot so predictable! I mean, I saw that plot twist coming from miles away... Honestly, I feel like I have already seen this story a hundred times before.
- from big city to remote area
- young and quirky vs. older and reserved
- trouble magnet vs. protector/saviour
It's like standard romcom fare. Plus, I feel like there's very little character development for Phupha... I don't know, does the story veer into unexpected in the next 4 eps? Cause right now I feel like I can completely predict it to the end...

There's also that talk he has with Gu Xiang at the start of ep23. He asks her when did WKX get THERE. And she's all suspicious, asking him back: where? And he's like: OK, let's drop it:) I also think he suspected from ep2 and the mirror sect.

Photographic equipment:) I really like her attitude. She knew she had good material, so did everything to give this series the best shot possible.
I liked from that interview how the costume designer saw WKX as this butterfly fluttering around A-xu all day long, so gave him all these flashy, multi-layered outfits in vibrant colours;)

True that:) I've already mentioned here that I had to switch off my brain from ep31 and just focus on feels and visuals. But it is still a bit disappointing to be stuck with those few puzzle pieces in the end that don't fit, however you turn them. Spoils the beautiful picture;)

I actually got sucked right into both series but I can't compare them, they're too different. TU is like this big, super messy, multi-layered story exploring themes about human nature and justice like a freaking Greek tragedy:) Even WangXian just folds into this plot with the first starting out as upholder of propriety, and the second determined to do what's right no matter what. WOH, to me is 100% pure certified love story. It's all about A-xu and Lao wen's past, finding each other, blossoming love, family ...with the mystery somewhere in the background.

Agreed:) But the illogical part for me is not WKX not telling ZZS before, but YBY not telling him WKX's alive after he saves him. That guy had front row seat to their budding intimacy, so how come he let ZZS think his soulmate is dead?! I saw a few comments that ZZS knew it was a fake body. But if he did know, then why choose to end your life prematurely instead of living a quiet life together? However, I put it in my brain it doesn't fit. Maybe after I rewatch in May or maybe they'll re-edit for yt...

It's very strange. The Eng subs are already embedded in the video, so there's no way to change how they're displayed!! They shouldn't be moving at all... Are you streaming the version that has english description on youku site?

Oh right! Wasn't it that people criticized him for the lack of emotions in his voice and then he came out with how it made him nauseous? Gotta love when sb takes the money and then trashes the project that's the effort of many people. And honestly how did he not reflect on all those flirty lines from WKX and the original story before signing up? I'm in the minority cause I find his work a bit theatrical and overdone? WKX's laugh creeped me out a few times.

Hey, don't take it to heart, you're perfectly entitled to write whatever post you like. Personally, I don't mind either way. Just wanted to suggest a compromise... Sorry, if it came out critical? Wasn't my intention:)

I think it's good practice to hide long off-topic posts under a spoiler tag with short introduction what's it about. That way those who are interested can read it and the rest don't have to scroll through it. People are probably frustrated because this show has been mentioned here many times and it's a bit tedious at this point.

Oh, it's the first time I watched this show. Pity. I wanted to check out more episodes.
I did wonder how much was scripted and how much was ZZH 'I don't care' improv. The seating with MBY stuck in the middle was brilliant. Pretty sure the dance part was scripted cause they should have no problems memorising choreography. Seems whatever script was there ZZH just took and run with it:D

I just watched the happy camp episode for a second time and can't stop laughing. The comedic potential of this pair is off the charts. ZZH really went wild and GJ's face expressions are worth a 1000 memes each:D I wish producers would recognize that and make them regulars or give them a show. Though I'm not sure GJ's self-confidence could take it... The amount of ribbing in the comments about him not needing to bring his brain as long as laopo is there… it's like whole extra layer of fun;) My favourite was how GJ didn't understand clearly a single rule on this show... Not how to dance, where to sit or sing happy birthday. The only thing he got right was when to hug ZZH;) There's so much enjoyment wrapped in and around WOH, how can I hope to move on LOL

Me too. It was misleading at first. I think it got explained around the time scorpion asks for the recipe. I was really cheering him on! Yes, drink it forget your creepy foster father;)
