I feel really bad for Yuri. She was the only one who seemed sincere about their friendship all this time yet she got used by both of them. I understand Maho and Satoko's circumstances but they have no right to ruin their friend's whole life like that. Even in the beginning, Yuri killed the man assaulting Maho only to save her and she didn't wanted Satoko to take the blame or hide it. It was Satoko who made the decision on her behalf because she couldn't bring herself to kill her grandfather and Maho who held her back again and again from confessing. I doubt they even see her as a friend, It seems more like Maho and Satoko are the real bffs who manipulated a naive girl like Yuri to get their things done and pretended to be distanced infront of her so she wouldn't suspect them.
Edit: After watching the last episode, I just realised that this theory was highly influenced by my trust issues lol.
btw does the relation between master and student will be sour from the beginnig or will they be enemies later
No, it's alright. The novel it's adapted from has like 311 chapters and 39 extras so it's obviously confusing if you try to summarise it. As for your question about timelines, It's actually about parallel universes so there's no 'past' or 'present' thus it can't be explained this way or like The Untamed but I'll still try my best: Mo Ran's current life = Taxian Jun's past when he was still in Sisheng Peak as Chu Wanning's disciple. Taxian Jun's current life = Mo Ran's future after he took the wrong path and became an evil person who slaughtered the whole Sisheng Peak. But they both exist at the same time, just in different universes.
It'll start with Taxian Jun drinking poison (supposedly dying) and then waking up in Mo Ran's body, he believes he went back in time so I guess you can say we'll get to see his backstory this way. The rest of the story will continue in Mo Ran's present/Taxian Jun's past. We'll get glimpses of him as Taxian Jun in the middle but the plot won't revolve around him. Mo Ran is the main focus. If you're still confused, I think you should try reading the novel. You don't need to complete it, just the first few chapters might be enough to answer all the questions you may have.
His cover image is cracking me up. I almost thought someone made a page for an actual historical figure on mdl and the fact that his name also seems like it could belong to a person is the past isn't helping at all.
Alright this is a bit random but I was reading the recent chapter of 'Painter of the Night' and when Seungho casually lifted Nakyum by his clothes because he's a smol puppy, I was reminded of Lee Sejin because he's also really tiny (in a good way) so now I can't help but wish he would get lifted like that in this drama too. It'll be really cute. Edit: For those who haven't seen the recent chapter of potn https://i.postimg.cc/k48S48Vy/Pics-Art-04-12-02-05-41.jpg
Just because the main character is cross-dressing, it's doesn't mean it's not a bl anymore. It's obvious as heck that he won't be able to pretend to be a woman forever and the ml would be more than aware of his real gender, even in the official poster he's in men's clothing infront of his love interest. We're not 'over-analysing' the trailer or anything, the NRB team themselves said it's a bl lmao. Why are so many people in the comments still denying it? Even if they don't keep up with this drama's updates, it shouldn't be difficult to tell that 3 actors mainly popular for acting in recent k-bls weren't probably put together as main leads for a straight drama...
So dear homophobes, finally hush-hush now. You're ruining the vibe with your mental gymnastics. Feel free to live in your delusions that the characters are straight, just don't spout bs in the comment section. Being a dumbass is not something to be proud of.

And here's a bit of explanation If you're wondering about the concept of souls in hyx:
These 3 souls 7 spirits (but only souls are the main focus, spirits are not) are all in a person's body while alive, but separates upon death. After separation, each soul would "lose something" in the afterlife, such as certain senses (hearing/sight), cognition or memories.
人魂 - Human Soul > goes to the underworld upon death. after 7 days, it can head to the living world to find the Cognizance soul/to fulfill some un-realized wishes (fix regrets). This is in charge of morality and humanity. Chu Wanning's human soul couldn't see, can't tell voices apart and did not know what day it was.
地魂 - Earth Soul > goes to the underworld upon death and have healing abilities.
识魂 - Cognizance Soul > stays in the body for 7 days after death. Reincarnation is only possible if the Human Soul that returns to the living world can merge with this soul (and reunites with the Earth Soul).
Chu Wanning from Taxian Jun's universe gave half of his Earth soul to Mo Ran to cure him of something that caused the major change in his personality (it's too big of a spoiler so I won't reveal it) and the other half to himself in Mo Ran's universe that caused Chu Wanning's spring dreams. Taxian Jun's Human and Earth souls are merged into Mo Ran after Txj drank poison, but he later kind of came back to life because his Cognizance Soul was too obsessed with Chu Wanning to go to afterlife and rebirth or merge with Mo Ran.
btw does the relation between master and student will be sour from the beginnig or will they be enemies later
Ok if you don't mind spoilers then: He doesn't actually rebirth, he thought he did but later found out that he's just Mo Ran from another universe who got Taxian Jun's memories and 2/3 of his souls transmitted into him by Chu Wanning (who was also from Taxian Jun's universe). So Chu Wanning of his universe doesn't remember their 'past' because it never actually happened to them, however Taxian Jun's Chu Wanning gave a part of his own soul to him too thus a few fragments of his memories sometimes appear in his dreams (but they're only about Taxian Jun doing him in the bed though lol).
Just putting this here because I saw a few recent comments that made me worry: Though both Winner is King and Haoyixing's airing dates are unfortunately rumoured to be delayed (but I don't really believe them lol), Please refrain from comparing them story, budget, character or novel-wise. It's fine to vent our frustration and have discussions but we don't need to start an unnecessary fanwar, it's not helping anyone.

Without any spoilers I'd say that it was super sweet and heartwarming in the beginning when he first got accepted as a Sisheng Peak disciple, but then something happens to Mo Ran that completely changes his personality so he starts to distrust Chu Wanning and it ruins their relationship a bit, yet deep down they both still care for each other. Later when he 'rebirths' and gets the chance to turn everything around, the true colours of their actual relationship finally shows because there's nothing holding him back unlike in his past life as Taxian Jun. Overall, I believe their relationship dynamics would still manage to win everyone's hearts even if they censored it to hell and back because even without any blunt confessions or romantic lines, the purity of their love is not hard to see at all.
But high budget drama usually have popular actors in it like immortality's protagonist.
Lmao they really did edited it and completely changed their argument. It went from them belittling the actors for their looks and popularity to 'explaining' their views like they're an adult trying to console an angry 5 years old kid who doesn't know any better. Idk if I should laugh or cry.
I don't have a choking kink or anything BUT: https://www.pinterest.jp/pin/592786369705555061/ And honestly, there's no way I can have low expectations about ranwan's chemistry when there's scenes like this. I mean just take a look at the right screen, I bet they can almost tell what toothpaste brand the other one used.
Edit: Never knew if I watch that gif enough times, the untraceable amount of choking kink hiding within me would suddenly emerge. Now I want to see Mo Ran/Taxian Jun just casually choking Chu Wanning 25/8. 😌
This drama's beauty is in it's simplicity and realism. I love how you can actually see all these scenarios happening in real life because they're not unrealistic or unnecessarily dramatic just for the sake of shock value.
I honestly don't think It'll be delayed to the next year (at most, it'll only be a month or two) because if they want to avoid 'competition' then April is the best time to air hyx since the competition (I seriously hate this word, it sounds like I'm participating in a petty fanwar) is only between them & 'that' drama which is not even a brotherhood adaption thus doesn't stand out much to the danmei fandom. The collaboration is also ready to be launched and both Chen Feiyu and Luo Yunxi's schedules are very fitting for the promotion around mid April. The postponement will only give hyx more competitors because many danmei adaptations are supposed to air next year and Tgcf drama adaption would probably get tons of recognition after the cast gets confirmed and their shooting starts, especially because they've equal amount of readers as 2ha. Anyways, If hyx needs mouth-to-mouth cpr to finally breath then I volunteer as a tribute. They don't need to wait until next year.
