Hmmm what i mean by "not even Jing's son", yes Zhen is not Jing biological son. Jing will be having his own family too. Despite Jing treated Zhen like his own. Truth is still the truth. Nevertheless, Jing was still a more fulfilling parental figure than both Hou&FFYY. I take it as compassion from Jing. Despite Jing departure to Tushan family at end, Jing had built up the uprightness and goodness inside the boy already, by the end how I understand the boy is actually doing good under the
guidiance of Tushan elder. Its stable for Tushan clan by seeing reaction Jing Ye and doc husband. After what Jing had gone through, (especially from what Hou did to him), its not so fair and correct for Jing still continueing taking the "responsibility", not doing what he really desire as destiny had take him to there and this chance of departing. And no that situation is not at all like XL and his foster father, to me. I dont even know they were in that kind of relationship. Surely it is Hong Jiang/ Gong Gong compassion to young XL and XL gratitude and his loyalty by nature. I feel it more like that. Zhen situation definetly no at all like that of CX and XY situation, who had to leave their home place and their traumatic destiny. CX was left as exiled prince to Haoling as his uncles were planning to kill him if he stayed at Xiyan. He had to stay under a man whom he thought was involved in his parents death. A cheerful XY was bored at Jade Mountain, and felt abandoned, bcos she was waiting for her beloved brother and mother. And the real reason she got to wander around and traumatic is bcos not willing to go back to Haoling after her all the rumors about her mother adultery as probably not willing to face Haoling King, and to face some "terrible" truth. So she just wandered around to experience more traumatic thing.
Zhen was not in such situation. He was not exiled. He was not wandering around traumatic torture at least although did have some sad and loss experiemces. He was at his own home. He was born Tushan. His own destiny had led him to be there assigned to lead the Tushan clan.
Things are very clear to him and stable. He is just doing it good. I dont feel its bad end for him at all, although not perfect (his background story is sad bcos of his biological parents), according to how I take it according to the context. Im sure Jing Ye and Hu Zhen will look aftet Tushan Zhen very well as they said it.
For me I dont feel anything is wrong with Jing taking the chance to depart in the end as it is Xy and him willing to just live anywhere or new world as home after fulfilling their responsibilities and duties to a level. Actually things are not 100% ended perfectly either from Xy side or Jing but it is no tragic at all.

I dont know why u put those 2 things here. There is nothing associating and things are all in different scenerios. Yes I dont dismiss on either his loyalty towards his foster dad or Chenrong. Or good thing he did for Xy. I just prefer one who do things gentler and tried best for each even if nothing can be perfect.

Its not that I dont feel sad for the boy. Its just that I guess nothing could be perfect. And he's not even Jing's real son. And Jing did not do
things to make it happen. The unfortunate things just happened.
I dont think Zhen is abandoned though especially to contrast with CX&XY. Zhen grew up in much calmer and clear situation. He was at his home Tushan. Besides he knew what is what. Unlike that with CX&XY who faces trauma and chaos and felt abandoned and loss. I dont recall that as same situation with Zhen. And yep as u said how can we know what happen next. Its all temporary end where they live on. Maybe Jing may still contact with his people sometimes later just like he kept in touched with Qing Shui town family.

She was not rush in marriage bcos she care about she cared about CX and her eager medical things. But she is no longer broken bcos she is with jing.
I have already said a more detailed in up replies. Whether u would like it or not. She's not broken bcos she is with Jing.
At the meeting with A Heng, its already revealed her inner girly shyness bcos its feeling of her mom catched her up with her boyfriend. She already cant wait for her mom to approve Jing.
If u still enjoy this one line not being said...then go on. But to me the whole action is telling. And as for her meeting with XL, he forced with to call on her this connection and merman song. She tried to resist. That connection feeling is bcos the bug. Yes she did say of her dad bcos thats what in her mind. And her attraction in the whole scene is what to merman song. Not on XL. And she was about to follow him bcos he mentioned about breaking bug spell which she was interested in that moment.
Again she took time engaging Jing mainly bcos of the war with GaoXing and completing part of her career. And so what after things are settled Xiao Yao so happy and excited about her marrying Jing after all.

Just bcos he did things in gentle way but being unfortunate.. shouldn't be taken as "weak"!One can like whoever but take things as it is. I dont know why Im like saying it repeatedly these days. Really back then I think many over praised on XL. Yes he used his power to wake up. He has the power to do. I understand that he was doing slowly as not to over use on power. But he could wake her up earlier lol... and whats so fascinating about keeping her body there lying for 37 years. Well im just saying. Bcos some blame Jing for dying alongside with Xy, and laugh at him for being in coma alongside Xy. But really hes the one who give it all. If not for him giving out all his energy, the other 2 wont have chance to able to save her as well. Im saying by the plotline.
Whats so tragic about those 2 who do not choose her (even at heart), not get with her in the end. No. And Xy just move on with her life with Jing in the end.

If Jing returned I guess it will be more complicated. I think YaoJing had done enough for Tushan and the boy
already. Jing had looked after him for a time. And Xy helped the boy maintain the role bcos he's from the clan master's blood. Fact is he's not real Jing's son. It might not be so right for YaoJing just stay for the boy when its not their real want, and they will also have their own family. Things might be different if Jing was not plotted to kill. But its already been done. (Tushan Jing is officially dead!) And Tushan Zhen is the leader now as of bloodline. Even if they stayed, the news/rumors were already over. Tushan clan might probably not good in terms with Zhen(Tian in drama?) as they should. Without Jing, he's the only heir left. Fact is he already was leader. Yes its a little bit sad bcos jing left. But nothing could be perfect. To me its still a win-win situation.

Im not twisting things around. It is not me. Im just saying whats in the context that written in novel thats also shown in the drama. XY only really yearn for one man in the story. All the heartbreaks and yearning (wanting to be with/desire to he with) is with only guy. I cant apply this "yearning" on another man. Well you ask it. Yes all Xy yearning were on Jing when was thrown into river by Hou. she thought Jing should still be alive or when she give up that idea. Whether hes still alive or dead, she will still commit to him. (Back then she cannot obtain him she kind of yearn for him too which is why she could not sleep well for decade.) Im saying bcos its clearly referring to only one guy. Xy enjoy FFB/XL company (that formed bond too and flattered at times). But its not like she yearned for him when hes not there. But then again about title "longing", its true its mostly XY pov. But its also can apply to other characters as we all see each important character probably suffered from it too at some point in life as Tong Hua mentioned. And that made the story. No Im not twisting anything.

Yes Xiao Yao get Tu ShanJing back in the end. Im talking about the context and the title. I never found XY yearn that XL in such way. But i never deny their kind of unspoken bond. I dont find it as main love line at all. These phrase you put above there is about "eternal yearning" about when two people separated they will be yearning for each other or not able to forget even when not able to possess each other, and thats being the deep love. If part is eternal then yearning would be eternal too. Thats the journey with YaoJing. Its not they yearn at the end of the story . No. And a story title never only apply to the ending, but its whole journey. Moreover this longing is real title of drama, and its not lyf. In her novel, drama, its actually ZX/CX who probably left with yearning. And TH just said that. And as for Xy i think she will miss XL. but I cannot say its that kind of longing/yearning. Xy is surely devasted but shes also letting it go and moving on with life. She never really have such relationship with him too.

Jing is not flawlesss but sometimes things are out of his way too. But that kind of unfortunate thing can happen to anyone else. He does not have any ill thinking towards anyne else. Despite him not being able to handle things smoothly at times , he is most willing to do best to get to be with her. This alone would make me choose this guy.
At least his gentle nature and way of life gives Xiao Yao life and love, shes happy with him. And ready to get over any dark times.❤️

Certain things are just so direct. I dont think things can be changed. But some we can interpret.
Overall I see it that way on her relationships with those different guys too.
No matter how many times i read the novel. I only see yearning betweenYaoJing even when they cannot possessed to each other and also cannot be forgetten either. it like when they break up first time (no matter how she tried she cannot forget him) or another time Jing went missing assuming dead. If he did not come back she will yearn/miss him forever. Its yearning between 2 people. Nevertheless Like Tong Hua said this "yearning", many characters suffer from it though. (She mentions it belongs Zhuang Xu in novel by end though). I think its through Jing that XY can be whole and hope for the future (bcos they are same soul . I mean they have both positive outlook).

I guess they like that hopeless tragic trope thats why they like that? But its clearly surely from start they walked in different direction since start, so real commiting to life together is never going to happen.

I think i will just reply here.This will be long. There is post above in this comment section sharing on interviews of here and there. there is one in which Yang Zi saying "She did not choose Jing". (lol but in another interview Yang Zi had said "If Xy did not love Jing, she might not have choose Jing" so I think it depends on audience she was talking to probably.
and then Yes there is mentioning of being "rational" in there. but are they really rational in reading and understanding context without making up on "hidden lines". TH had already said she had expressed everything CLEARLY in her story. And character has their own choices. As she said in Liaoshen Evening News interview.
At least Tong Hua acknowledged of Tushan Jing being Xiao Yao's Lover. And Yang Zi used "dating" with Shiqi. So theres that.
For me in chapter 8, WXL chose to go and test on Shiqi whether he would help her escape from CX. If WXL did not care enough she would not "choose" to do this action.
I will summarized topic on of "Jing break promise" .he did not do it to happened. Its all unfortunate events YaoJing have to go through. He is the only guy whom hoped future with Xy. He did not give up on it no matter how ill fated events they have to meet, not just accepted along with it. They do not considerate these ill fate but put the blame on the guy. Or even thinking fair? lol. Actually other 2 guys also followed their urged things in life as well. But they had not chosen Xy although they did good things for her. And XY has good feelings for them.
But its with Jing that she manifested her future with. Im saying bcos its in the story context. With Jing she does not feel she was dominated like the others. It is him who gave her equality. Thats very important in relationship.
TH said that love is one thing and the choice can be from being suitable. Yes I think that if couple is not suitable or compatiple the union cannot be last long. Since their mission in life does not incline together. I like this a bit realistic approach yet also very romantic approach on YaoJing love story. it felt idealistic at time too for some reason. 😅 I mean we may have liked bad boys before not always on nice guy in dramas and romance. However in this one there something that give realistic yet also dreamy kind of romance with gentle touch (not intense angsty always). And certain people come to love this gentle Tushan Jing. I think Tong Hua wants to keep this novel not as fantasy angsty passion that probably in real life cannot last. She avoided overly erotic for this one too. But chapter 20 is quite intimate still. Its what she considered her fav back then. And we love it as well.

Yes its one of the most plotline i come across over too . I think the characters are very well built. And also its grounded fantasy is something interesting and unique than other xian xias that had come out.
