I saw the most recent episodes in IQiyi and they’re back together! It’s nice to see them openly admit their feelings for each other. Yi Zhi’s love for Li Zi has always been strong enough to overcome even the pain she inflicted on him before when she hadn’t gotten her act together yet. I hope there won’t be any break up or misunderstanding between them for the rest of the drama.

I checked the info and saw the reverse harem tag there. If I recall, there isn’t really any intense love rivalry there with a lot of guys liking the FL. There is another doctor who liked her, an old flame who just became a friend, but it’s really only the ML who was steadfastly wooing her until she became his girlfriend. Then they were together as a couple the whole time until the end. No break up, especially as the ML is portrayed as a mature, intelligent man with a high IQ and EQ.

I just finished watching a Cdrama with a very strong FL who’s smart, confident, and beautiful. It’s called “Don’t Think of Interrupting My Study”

It depends on your personal taste. It is a romantic comedy. The leads are eye candies, the female lead is a strong confident career woman with a rather strong personality, the ML is equally successful and he admires the FL’s swagger and visuals. He can be possessive, but at the same time he is one of those nice male leads who treat their ladies well and are not jerks. If you came off watching a tearjerker, draining drama with an unsatisfactory ending, watching this fluffy, stress-free drama with a very satisfactory happy ending will surely elevate your depressed mood.

They had a misunderstanding, but it was resolved when he went after her as soon as she was about to leave. Only after he declared his feelings for her did they became a real couple. So in my opinion, they did not break up and separate for real.

I’m watching Rattan and it’s good. FL has some feminine swagger in her and possesses some powers. I’ve also started You’re My Hero (FL is a doctor and ML is a SWAT police officer) and so far, I like them both.

I’ve rewatched Boss and Me several times, it’s one of my favorite dramas. :)

Yes, we are aware that’s the reality back then when emperors reigned, that they have a harem and several children, but they should’ve handled that part in this drama tastefully and discreetly so as not to disappoint other viewers. Empress of China was a historical drama but it was still romantic because it clearly showed how Wu Zetian was the most favored and beloved wife of emperor Li Zhi even if he had a first empress which he later dethroned and other concubines which he later neglected and ignored. In another period drama Singing All Along, emperor Liu Xiu married his empress for political reasons but kept his heart only for his first and only love Yin Lihua. He might have sired other children with his empress but he was clearly treating Yin Lihua differently from the get go. This is one drama where the empress and her family always had evil schemes but I still felt slightly sorry for her because she was in love with her husband, but the emperor was very clear and open with his love for Lihua and favored his children with Lihua more. He just never treated his empress fairly because all his words and actions were tied to the fact that he was crazy in love with his Yin Li Hua, who later became his empress as he’d always wanted.

Lol, he was hateful in Story of Yanxi Palace. The bald hairstyle didn’t help him much either. ?

Oh yes, I especially love Daddi Tang in “My Little Happiness”. I am now a fan after watching that drama.

My thoughts exactly! I’ve seen the Story of Yanxi Palace, the ML is older, an emperor with empresses and concubines not to mention lots of children. But I still liked the story because he gave his heart only to the FL in the long run and doted on her. I guess I became a bit desensitized after watching all these harem-themed Cdramas. It’s just a show anyway and I’m just an audience and not part of a harem thank goodness lol.
