He was able to sacrifice himself in the end to save both the ML and FL. Actually, it was understandable where the SML was coming from. The FL was a princess who had to be sent by her family to another kingdom for a political marriage. Both SML and the FL were in love with each other but because her royal family had the ability to do hypnosis, they erased the FL’s memories of the SML so she can marry the ML. What is sadder for the SML is that the political marriage turned into love between the FL and ML. He fought hard for her, which is what a man will do for the woman he loves, but he lost her anyway because she fell in love with someone else in the end.

There was no moment that the SML ever got what he wanted, not with the way the ML and FL loved and trusted each other. The ending credit scenes that bothered you are not what it seemed. Also, the SML loved the FL enough to redeem himself.

I just finished Once Upon A Small Town and it’s a very fluffy, stress-free watch. 😊

I would say the romantic chemistry throughout and the passionate kisses more than made up for their brief time away from each other. Plus when they saw each other again, she immediately went straight to his embrace lol.

Love your info…. I will watch it. I just watched Beauty Inside and love the story and romance. Unfortunately, the FL broke up with the ML for a while because she blamed herself for what happened to him, so I can’t include it on this list. But they were both so in love with each other and the ML did not accept the break up easily and did everything to get her back.

Hmm…that’s a bit difficult as nothing really exact comes to mind. It’s not exactly similar to Who Rules The World, but I think “The Long Ballad” has both a strong ML and FL. The other one is an old drama called Sound of the Desert, ML is a smart, undefeated general of the Imperial court who can never be trapped into anything he doesn’t want to do and is very devoted to the FL from start to finish. FL is also strong and never buckles under any schemes against her. She has both the cunning brain and good martial arts skills. SML is the most self-sacrificing noble character who proved that true love is not just about being together with your beloved but being able to sacrifice everything for the one you love without asking for anything in exchange. Loved the ending. SPOILER ALERT FROM HERE…….The main couple managed to fake both their deaths, switched their baby with another one because the palace wants to hold their child hostage in order to control the general, I guess. They escaped to a place far away from palace machinations and lived happily and quietly together with their son. And it was possible because of the SML’s help. The FL has great chemistry with both the ML and SML. I would rewatch this one.
