I've been wanting to watch this for YEARS but never got to it... and I regret starting so late... But here I am finally doing it! I'm so excited AAHHH! 🥺🥰

Yep! I did like Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi in TTEOTM too but even more ngl (despite being frustrated as well with their relationship - prob even more too) skdjskdks

Actually he isn't bad as I thought he would be initially but when the romance does pick up in the last 8 eps, I'm like on-and-off with him. One thing is I like that he cares and worries for her at times. But then we see him start to force things on her (like the way he grabs her, shouts at her, and even forces kissing her) and doesn't fully respect her as a person to make her own decisions.

I mean she is actually a red flag too so... At the same time, the FL also doesn't deserve him. It's more like they have a toxic relationship that I wouldn't wanna get myself into. In the end, neither the other two MLs actually deserved her either (even when they liked her) so I would think no matter which relationship she's in, it would all fall apart.

Maybe in the end the FL and ML work out more as a cp, but imo, ML def likes the FL more. I always felt that for the FL it was more like she pitied him for his past and wanted to help him thru that by staying by his side. For some reason I feel she's mistaken truly loving someone to actually caring and pitying. Irl, it would be better that she stays single to work her character out, and in the end, prob meet someone new.

But in the end, I did find the ending cute at the same time. They wouldn't have their cute kids if they didn't get tgt. I want to believe they both grew in their relationship thru the years even tho we didn't get to see it. Maybe if they showed that more perhaps I would like them as a cp more?

Omg I'm a twin too! But rather than a fraternal I'm an identical twin! Bc of being a twin this drama makes it more special and enjoyable for me as well hehe I really need more costume dramas with twins!

Btw I don't see you've watched The Blood of Youth, Blood River, nor Dashing Youth? Well, I could be wrong, but if you haven't, I highly rec those. They all come from the same universe and they're all really good dramas! Lots of bromance too (tho DY had a bit too much romance imo for a wuxia lol). As for this one, it feels more like it's unrelated to that universe as in the author seemed to not have taken part of it if I'm not mistaken.

I rmr finding out that Quan Yilun (Rong Xian) and Pan Junya (Ling Long) were gonna be LITC and alr had doubts they'd be paired there. Like I LOVED them in this drama so it was lowkey sad for me lol I can't be the only one hoping to see those two again in another drama right? Esp as main leads! Like pls! Even with that very little screentime of theirs, they really made a huge impact on me 😭😩

I rmr not being into her either but she became more likeable in the second watch for me. I lowkey like to think of this drama as a BL / love story btw Yuanzhou and Yichen. You'll notice a lot of hidden meanings that could be interpreted in different ways. It's really interesting.

Gotta say tho that this drama also feels like a polycule lol it's really shocking how they do it here. You might even ship the girls more tgt (than the main cp). So one reason I prefer no cp at all is for the coupling in this drama to feel completely balanced out lol.

I love how it goes from Yuanzhou flirting with Yichen (first half) to an angstier (love) story btw them in the second half where Yichen begins to understand and even love Yuanzhou, and their bond goes even stronger and deeper. Their story is so beautifully portrayed and felt so natural to me. A bond like no other. Truly beautiful!

Which regions is this drama on iQIYI? I might just try to use a VPN atp. And ofc one will English subtitles too. Or I'll wait for a pirate site for this since I don't have other subscriptions...

I dropped at ep 20 and I already didn't care to spoil myself anymore it gets worse right... I'm still watching Rebirth despite not finishing this tbh lol

Honestly I did not expect to like Xie Wei getting into this but dang his character is actually really likeable. I am really invested in his character and story as well. I don't look forward to the romance tho tbh. I'm so here for the plot!

Oooh yeah I rmr loving the guest stars, but nah, that arc is already done early on. It was like a way to set up the next parts of the drama focusing on the bigger characters we see for most of the drama. Also I would say the story focused on basically the entire friend group (first eight characters shown in the cast).

There definitely could've been more done with the FL tho, as the others stated. If they had I would've really loved her character more. It sucks how they didn't write her well enough for my liking :( I think I did have a problem with her acting too. I couldn't resonate enough with her emotional scenes. It probably has to do with both the writing and acting.

I also understand why ppl complain about the ML, but from my view I felt that the main story was on Yuanzhou and Yichen actually, which I loved. Their relationship and bond is like no other I've seen. Also, I didn't really have much to complain about the ML. I think Neo Hou did so well with what he was given. Maybe more backstory or focus on him would've been nice, but I'd say he was still such a well-written character, and Neo ate it up in that role. His best role STILL. I think that (even if there could've been more to the writing of his character) + his acting led to me loving his character a lot.

The other characters also have a huge importance in their roles and are focused on a lot as well. I loved the group dynamics, and I felt that they did so well in fleshing out the characters in this compared to a lot of other dramas out there. And I love that. I looove when characters are written well with a lot of depth. It makes me fall in love with the characters more!
