I have been wondering for awhile now how Ji Ling has the memories puppet Ji Ling lost, the ones taken away from Wuyi? It can't be because he's not puppet Ji Ling (bc he technically still is). Whatever happens to puppet Ji Ling would happen to Ji Ling himself, right? So how? Like I thought it would've been interesting to see how he regains those memories but all this time they weren't lost?

Ji Ling and the puppet aren’t truly different individuals, even if they appear in separate bodies. The puppet…
Thanks for sharing. I am like on and off when it comes to both Ji Lings but I have been slowly trying to see them as one while still alr being aware about everything you explained to me :)

As I think about it more one may think puppet Ji Ling is a puppet, but tbh, I could never come to terms to him being Ji Ling himself even if he's a part of him bc of the experiences he alone had in his life. He lived a life. Original Ji Ling had his own too. They had their own separate physical bodies. It's honestly sad to me that all this time puppet Ji Ling was the one that Wuyi loved first oof. I also now thought about how Wuyi is sadly also kind of like a puppet bc of Jiu Ying creating her and even using Di Zhu's face and body for her appearance. And then we also got Yuan Wuhuo and Li Jie who took on the appearance of the real Yuan Wuhuo as well (tbh I still don't even know who they truly are - the butterfly twins in the illusion?). Yuan Wuhuo who has a brother (where it seems even Ji Ling took his appearance when he couldn't save him)... is it really not HIS own brother but the original Yuan Wuhuo who gave him memories? See, look at that. So in the end, puppet Ji Ling's memories are his own when u think about it... Not Ji Ling's since he didn't actually do those himself :( Just like how the original Yuan Wuhuo had his own memories but the Yuan Wuhuo now has those memories (which ig in ways feel like his own?). Anyways, looking at all this, how can we think that the puppet Ji Ling we saw first is only a puppet as if he had no existence when a lot of the characters are in a similar spot 😭 The more I think about, the more sad I feel that he poofed so early as if no one cared about him as a unique individual. :( It makes me have mixed feelings for Ji Ling for discarding puppet Ji Ling like that... Tbh, I wished he let him live.

Oh this makes me even sadder oof... This drama gives me mixed and sad feelings with all the hidden identities of the characters 😭😭

Watched ep 19 and I think Yuan Wuhuo really overtook Li Jie... Poor Li Jie 😭 But this will be interesting!

Tbh just like Wuyi I also miss Ji Ling so I get her. I honestly did wish we had two Ji Ling's existing. Idc if he's a puppet. He's so different from Chi Wen, and I wish to see more of this innocent version, for a bit more lightheartedness in the drama :( Ofc it wouldn't be easy for Wuyi tho 😝

Okay, so I believe Wang Duo might actually be the only real Chi Wen. Tian Jiarui's is a fake due to the memories he has as a fox (which we saw thru Ji Ling) which were very vivid, indicating it must be his memories. And obv, he'd be a fake with this bc he's not a dragon then? And then I rmr in a recent ep that a fox, who is Ji Ling, even went to Yuan Xizai. There is really some connection btw Xizai and Ji Ling. Idk how to really map it out tho. But umm... Idk what to feel about Tian Jiarui's Chi Wen and Shiguang's meet as dragon brothers when he himself is not the real dragon deity. But my guess is the real Chi Wen let him take over or smth. No but I still find it not good to fake being Long Shen...

Edit: I give up on theories now skdjskdjsks

Title Veil of Shadows Spoiler
but they are not brothers😭
Well I am only on ep 17 (didn't start it yet) so idk what they revealed yet (and I don't wanna know so yeah pls no spoilers)... What I indirectly meant is Li Jie's face right now is not his own. But atp I should just stop theorizing and try watching the recent eps skdjsnskdks lol

Edit: After reading others' theories idek anymore lol I give up

It's shocking to me to think that Yanan and Tian Jiarui could very well be true brothers in this drama (idk man this makes the most sense but then some other stuff makes me confused about it too) - I ain't talking about the characters they play mainly - I am just saying the characters are atp literally hiding under a veil of shadows lol

OMG I HAD A FEELING YUAN WUHUO MIGHT'VE WENT INTO THE ILLUSION SINCE WE SAW THAT HE WAS IN THE DESERT WOW!!!!! Nooo but like this is too much! He shows he doesn't care anything about Li Jie but he really does omg Wuhuo stabbing him but then looking at him sadly when his brother was unconscious b4 leaving him was so :(

(IF YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL PLEASE AND THANK YOU)

After ep 15, I have many questions now lol. Ji Ling has a doll. In the past, Wuhuo / Xizai (I forget) had the same doll. And then in the flashback during the moment Yuan Wuhuo was sad looking at Li Jie, we saw Tian Jiarui (Chi Wen) there? They related in some way or what? Like this is really confusing oof!

WAIT... Too much of a crazy theory but umm... So Chi Wen is played by Wang Duo originally, right? The one we've been seeing - Tian Jiarui version - is actually possessed by the original Chi Wen who is played by Wang Duo. The original owner of the Tian Jiarui body (lol ik this is super confusing) is actually Li Jie / Yuan Xizai? Idek atp LOL. Maybe I'm wrong tho bc how can two identical brothers played by Yanan be existing anyway lol... Also, I'd prefer if Li Jie and Yuan Wuhuo were actually twins...

But also, ig it makes sense that they aren't twins too:
Li Jie: Why do you look exactly like me?
Wuhuo: You got it wrong. Know your place. You look like me.

But yeah, honestly, I'd feel betrayed by the Chi Wen we've been watching OOF... Since Wang Duo is the original Chi Wen, then it somewhat feels like the Chi Wen we've been watching is actually not the real Chi Wen. I mean, he is, but it isn't his original body?? Idek anymore LOL.

I know this sounds so crazy so like yeah whatever it's just my crazy theory that could not even be true skfjsdkfjs

But yeah, there is a relationship btw Ji Ling, Yuan Wuhuo, and Yuan Xizai / Li Jie bc of that Ji Ling doll...

(Time to watch more, but atm, pls don't spoil if you already know the answer again lol - I do take my time to watch one ep b4 going into the next xD)

(Ep 13 - no spoilers pls if you got the answers) So Chi Wen is played by Wang Duo (you hear the voice?)... So who's the Chi Wen we've been watching, bc Wang Duo as Chi Wen is also said to be Long Shen (Dragon Deity). Is his real name perhaps Ji Ling?

Am I the only one Chi Wen reminds me of Zhao Yuanzhou, or is it just nostalgia hitting me 😭
He's nothing like him to me. Wuyi is the one reminding me of Yuanzhou while Chi Wen feels a bit more similar to Yichen for me. The way Wuyi just likes to tease him a lot with her words (like Yuanzhou) and Chi Wen reacts (similar with Yichen). Their relationship dynamic to me is kinda similar to Yuanzhou and Yichen πŸ˜†πŸ«£

Sorry I gotta share a Yuanzhou Yichen video edit now

So I always assumed the Ji Ling whose memories were wiped out was Ji Ling (puppet) in the beginning bc of how the scenes were shown tgt. But as I watch the scenes again and thought more about it, I have that inkling that it's actually Chi Wen. You don't see the very innocence / childlike qualities on him as much as you do with puppet Ji Ling. (Great acting Tian Jiarui πŸ˜‰) Maybe everyone already thought this tho and I'm the stupid one lol... But yes, I think if this were the case, it makes the dynamic between Ji Ling (atp puppet vs original are called Ji Ling) and Wuyi even more beautiful and precious. It would show even more that Chi Wen isn't really influenced by Ji Ling (puppet) with the memories he made. And that would mean that the first one Wuyi met and fell in love with was the original one. (But you can't deny she is and fell in love with both of them, only bc they are the same person - so what's the difference?). If it's true that she first met Chi Wen (which I am more sure of now), and she learns about that truth, I will be even happier for my girl after all the complicated feelings she's been going thru lol. If it's true, I will be happy when Chi Wen finds this out.

I totally get what you're saying but the reason I'm not angry with CW for killing JL is because to me it felt…
Or else the one Wuyi wiped memories of is Chi Wen? I always thought it was Ji Ling (puppet) tho but thinking about it, idk now lol or I missed smth. (And yes ur right about that sjdskdjsks)

True. He prob misses his old self so he wanted to see another version of him that is carefree. But it's best to face reality I guess. But I do still struggle with the fact that the first one to like Wuyi is done thru Ji Ling's (physically) actions lol. In some way it felt like he was using him (tho I prefer Chi Wen's chemistry with her). But let's see if they bring up Ji Ling again for the answers to our questions.

Yes. I also am aware of it. Just like Wuyi, I will also gradually learn to accept them both as one πŸ˜†
