Agreed! I don’t even want to finish watching this last episode. I’m not understanding why she is so upset…
He explained what happened after it happened. He had plenty of opportunity to have told her about his life including an ex fiance before. From when he first went to Japan, anytime during their friendship, after they got together etc. The ML is awesome but he has a character flaw of not sharing easily.

The way she found out made it seem like without giving her a choice, he made her the other woman that caused someone to be abandoned like FL was abandoned by her mom. Thats a triggering scenario and trauma for her.

The whole initial problem the FL had that ruined her first life was accepting unacceptable behaviors and being understanding to people who didnt deserve it because they were her best friend or her husband. She trusted too much. Its actually a sign of character growth that she said NO and stopped seeing someone who did something she thought was wrong. Now she just needs to continue growing and realize some people do deserve unconditional support and trust. That last scene at her dad’s grave suggests she was figuring out ML was one of them.

The leads were finally happy in ep 11. But NOOOOOO, they couldn't let that last for too long. Like you can't let…
Sure but I dont think they were in a maintainable relationship. I mean the ML didnt actually deal with or express his fears for his early demise and the FL still doesnt know very much about him. They definitely like each other but these are things they need to face and overcome to really have a solid partnership.

Why The Truck Isn't Mentioned In The Guest Role?
They are always a secret guest star. They dont want to big a deal made of their appearance because they are a purist and do not seek fame or recognition. They seek only the true artistic spirit of dramatic vehicular violence.

Yeah, they could drop alot of the side plots to compress. You are right. Im enjoying spending more time in this world seeing the other character’s (like Jooran and Heeyeon) stories as well as the challenges to the FL’s growth. It wouldnt feel like it was a real change if she achieved it too easily & didnt make any mistakes.

Based on your understanding, can you share your opinion on jiwon personality? Is she really a helpless victim? Is…
Not directed at me but you gave me questions I can number so:

1. Personality: She’s an inherently kind, intelligent, hard working, and creative person who seeks love and companionship having been abandoned or mistreated by everyone save her father and in response to the behavior of others, she struggles to believe she is worthy or deserves happiness. She’s trying to be more independent now.

2. No she’s not a helpless victim. She does have trauma that she is working through. The whole point with her internal monologues is she is assessing how she previously behaved in situations and questioning what she could have done differently. This is difficult because of her trauma. More on this in response to your later question.

3. I don’t blame her situation on others and to a point she doesnt either. She has described in her internal monologues how she acccepted behaviors she shouldn’t have. That being said, nothing she did should have resulted in the numerous rejections (her mom, other friends etc) and betrayals (stealing her money, adultery, conspiracy to murder her, actually murdering her) she has experienced in life. Ignoring how her various traumas and previous coping mechanisms shape her behavior isnt respectful of her as a character or her growth in this story. And that growth is the real point of this story. We arent at the end yet. She’s still growing to love herself enough to stand alone and not cling to someone who loves her even when they behave badly.

4. And 5. She is learning what kind of person she is. She’s mentioned before that before her death she was so willing to accept anyone who she thought loved her that she didnt know what she actually liked or wanted for herself. She has expressed frustration and sadness with her past self. So she keeps giving herself internal pep talks to stay focused on what she does know she wants, and no longer allow toxic people to hurt her.

6. She acknowledges her shortcomings when she recognizes them. She’s still learning. Early on she recognized her tendency to understand people unconditionally who didnt deserve it. She’s stopped that. She’s become more assertive at work to defend herself. Like using her foreknowledge to manage the director and manager kim. She recognized she wasnt always embracing the awesome people around her, so she’s done better and made two great new friends in heeyeon and jooran. She recognized in the past she didnt invest in herself enough, so she bought clothes etc. that made her feel happier in her new beginning. And if that scene at her dad’s grave is anything to go by, she’s recognized she may have taken her fairly earned distrust and traumas too far and hurt Jihyuk.

7 and 8 and 9: She started a relationship with the ML because she liked him and felt like he was the bright gift that she was reborn to receive. She started liking him very early. During that short arc where she thought heeyeon was his girlfriend there was a scene where she was in bed mocking herself for nearly falling for a guy in a relationship. There are lots of things she clearly appreciates about him: the way he listens to and respects her, their cat, helping her learn self-defense, their shared past, the way they could communicate with each other-she wanted land, he wanted to be her land. I cant point to the exact moment she fell in love because there are so many reasons she would. Its smart writing. Few people can look back and point to the exact moment they started loving someone. Its usually more cumulative and less clear cut. You just slowly feel it.

Challenge to you: turn around and answer those same questions for the ML. I adore him but his behaviors have been problematic at times. His tendency to only focus on her and rarely share about himself contributed to how badly she reacted to the ex fiance existence. Imagine if before they were dating when he first went to Japan to break up with the ex, he’d told Jiwon. Or when they first got together he mentioned it. There he is accepting her being completely open with him, he knows the worst of what she has done and experienced and yet he rarely shares the same way. Thats part of his trauma from a lifetime of suppressing himself. And its not anymore okay than her behaviors. But they are both understandable. They both can course correct to do better.

12 episodes would've been just perfect for this drama. I was really liking it but now I have a feeling that there…
If the story was just get the evil duo married, Id agree, but its really about her building a happy life with this second chance. She was not there yet even with how happy episode 11 was.

Yeah as she is now, I dont see redemption. I was more thinking if we did have a story about her redemption how could it work? And the best I can think is going back in time to save her as a child.

I don't even know where to begin with today's episode 12. I can't believe what I just watched, and how they're…
I liked this episode.

They progressed and complicated the fate is set but can be transferred storyline by showing FL it wont necessarily go to her ex bestie the way she planned.

They advanced the evil duo’s marriage.

They showed Mr. Lee beginning to realize his feelings.

The FL has finally learned to drop someone who she thinks did something awful. She use to always understand the awful actions of those she around her so she wouldnt lose them. Also they showed towards the end FL was reassessing if her distrust in the ML was correct at dad’s grave.

ML is finally going to confront his biggest fear: dying in a car accident and leaving early.

The ex fiance they’ve talked about since early episodes who gramps kept comparing to our FL finally showed up and created a scenario in which our ML may die. Once gramps finds out, that solves the problem of his disapproval and the ex’s presence in the show.

Finally we learned more about the ML and his backstory from his sister.

This episode was great in its progression. Now on to the coma arc!

She needed a different mom or a non absentee father like Jiwon. I agree her redemption could be a cool story in its own right. Im just not sure how youd write that. Its not like she learns anything in either lifetime. Maybe someone sincere to her going back in time and trying to redeem her?

She never thought to quit till it was her health or her job. And she thought kicking him in the shins was enough until she found out about listing her as a contract worker. I agree recording him would have been cool and satisfying for bringing him to justice. But it just wasnt where her focus was at.

They should've stuck with the webtoon instead of the novel cause what the hell LMAOOOYura is so unnecessary; as…
She’s acting like through no choice of her own she’s become the woman Jihyuk cheated with which broke up his engagement. Cause thats how that meeting kind of sounded with the whole “Im his fiance. Oh I guess I should say ex fiance.”

We know its not true but our perspective is different as viewers. She just knows he hasnt told her things so how can she trust what he says now?

Im glad she isnt just blindly believing him to keep a loved one like she did in the past with the evil duo. Setting boundaries is a sign of her growth. Now she just needs to learn how to tell the people she can unconditionally trust from the trash. End of episode 12 at her dad’s grave tells me she is almost there.

How is JW that stupid??? Seriously? Did you not hear ex?
What she heard is a woman walk up identify herself as his fiance and than correct to ex. Implying the change was recent. Which with their recent relationship implies JW is the other woman.

She could not handle that with her trauma from her mom. I’m proud of her for dumping someone she thought did something sleazy and not giving infinite unconditional understanding like she did in the past. I also like that the later scene at dad’s grave shows she is realizing that she may have swung too far into the distrust zone and she’s slowly figuring out who she can really trust.

I also think JW would have been more understanding and less shocked if the ML had been upfront about his situation before. He could have told her why he went to Japan. I love JH but he tends to keep secrets and leaves it to JW to figure out on her own.
