It builds and becomes more mesmerizing as the story progresses. I say that but I was pretty hooked from the beginning. You may want to give it till episode 4 and if you still arent hooked consider dropping it.

His character is suppose to be an example of a good person pushed to banditry by the mismanagement of the government. It was luck she met a bandit who wasnt raised to the life but rather was compelled to it.

I agree she seems ineffective. But I think that part does make sense. She explained she set the rules for how a person becomes a demon. Once a person meets those conditions the becoming a demon part is automatic. Shes not hands on causing things to happen. Its like she’s a programmer who designed the framework of the game but player interaction shape and causes events. Since she’s a gambler: imagine she built the roulette wheel. Its the players (humans) placing bets and causing it to spin that creates events. Thats why the outcome of our FL and ML both surviving the full moon being a surprise to her makes sense. She may not have anticipated a combination of different rules could lead to that. Still, I dont actually believe she didnt know there was a way or who he is. Her every interaction with characters is essentially putting her hand on the scale to try to manipulate events using
the rules she wants.

The webtoon death was problematic and death by car is the most common reason for an adult character in a drama to die. Truck of Doom is real. Plus for PMR that was more than a simple car accident.

He’s bigger in the book. I think they are pulling from both sources. Plus introducing him this way makes sense for a drama format.

No. Car accident is a trope. What happened in PMR was more than what happened here.

Maybe all the black and white cat actors were too temperamental :-p

Its not a copy. This is a common sub genre: rebirth for revenge. Both stories are based on books in that sub genre.

Rebirth to revenge yourself on lover/traitorous friend/evil family etc. is such a common trope in web novels that its now its own sub genre. So you will find a lot of kdramas based off books that follow this set-up.

It is different but I like it better. The suicide in the comic always felt ridiculous and offensive. Ive lost a family member so my perspective is a little skewed and maybe not fair.
It did fit his character’s reserved & reticent because he thinks too much personality. But it wasnt a meaningful sacrifice. Killing yourself for love doesnt mean you loved deeper. And thats why I didnt like it. His grief and love felt less meaningful because he ran away from them so much and after the ultimate escape was rewarded for that with a second chance?
This time while he did allow his shyness to limit him from her in life he didnt run away from her death. He just suffered a terrible accident outside his
control. So when given a second
chance it feels like a real gift he has a shot at using well. Much
easier to root for him.

I want to see the female lead kick his butt after her self defense training is complete :-p

So that is a new detail but if I have to guess, he’s her “allowance” from dad. The gift of the person who will love her best in all the world also being reborn so he’d be able to help and understand her.

I wonder if she was such a workaholic when they were growing up that she had zero interaction with them. That would explain the daughters obvious jealousy of DDH, why both children are so deeply insecure that they cling to their “positions” as the only measure of their worth, and why the son has to exert himself as the dominate who controls others (especially through pain) in order to have a sense of existence and satisfaction. But who knows. Maybe she was very hands on in a positive way mom and just their nature’s and being so rich screwed them both up.

If you get a chance read the book. They change alot in the drama but the core characters feel the same. The book helps understand them.

Yeah. Its confusing news. Unclear if the stage dubbing performance is all that will ever be. Writer posted contracts signed for the drama version, so I wonder if they are doing both? But doesnt seem likely since no clarification has come out yet.
