Did anyone notice that Joo Ran was acting entitled to Ji Won's work?Didn't expect that from her smh
Maybe. I think either this is part of her plan with Jiwan or she was just trying to make peace to keep the project going. Spoiler:
Her character is suppose to be very similar to how Jiwan was in her first life. Stuck with a crap husband forced to take abuse at work to survive and all in all unable to see a way out or that she deserves more.
That just means these actors are doing a really good job if they get you that worked up. I feel the same, not…
She’s actually doing exactly what she should do: waiting for them to screw up in a way she can catch them. The rule of her time travel is fate is set but it can be transferred to someone else. She has to keep dating her ex so her twisted BFF will want to steal him. Her revenge on her bestie is she has to suffer as his wife. The manager does suck but this company clearly has a culture where talking like that is accepted. Thats why she set up that director to be bigger and more famous when he has his “plane outburst” and called him right before hand so she’d be on his mind. She got him to say on camera in front of the whole country that they snaked her project. The evil manager is part of that. He’ll get flack too. She is incredibly proactive. Just in a more cunning way than the ML. It might feel more satisfying to punch these people out but all that would result in is her getting fired, her bestie only getting punched, and her ex maybe assaulting her and than marrying some poor innocent stranger. The FL is smartly using her foreknowledge of the behavior of all these monsters to trap them in the consequences they avoided in the previous timeline. And since they show her learning judo Im 90% certain she will punch out somebody before the end of this drama. :-p
Wife is raging at how lame FL is acting compared to webtoon and me, having not seen it, agree. Theyre making her…
I agree the webtoon moved faster but thats because it condensed a very large book into just 50 or so chapters. Additionally, the FL in the webcomic seemed to have a personality transplant after she time traveled. Its a good comic but never felt very grounded in that a person who was gaslit and abused by her only friend and family for decades suddenly came out of it that fast. This show is dedicating itself to her rebuilding herself to be stronger and forming better relationships. And if they follow the comic, our FL dealing with avoiding her fate and not having it transfer to people she likes is enough for 16 episodes. Plus all of her friends evil and good have enough of their own stories that if they keep any of it, especially the older co-worker who is in a similar marriage to the FL’s, we have a lot to cover in 16 episodes. Im sorry your wife isnt enjoying it. Other comic readers like myself are impressed by how they have smartly adapted it to the screen. It is true they have changed some events and are taking more time to develop the characters. The overall tone and themes are still there.
It just feels so similar to Perfect Marriage Revenge. Same concept, too soon after. Also, the boyfriend switches…
She already figured out the rule of her time travel is basic fate is set. The only way to avoid it is to transfer it to someone else. So her revenge is to make sure the fate of being her abusive ex’s wife gets transferred to her twisted BFF. If she breaks up with him right away her BFF wont want to steal him from her and some other innocent woman might get pulled in by him. Staying with him to enact her revenge despite being terrified of the guy who killed her is pretty tough.
This show isnt like PMR. PMR only had one rule: you have a year. This show has more complex rules: you live your fate or someone else will do it for you. So she has to be careful how she does things.
And the ex’s behavior is highly realistic. You are very fortunate never to have met this brand of abuser.
Do you expect, that the main story has enough beef to fill 16 eps alone or to, lets say, 70+%? Or are there many…
If they include all the story from the webcomic including the extras, theyd have more than enough. Also the book apparently had more details so they could draw from that as well.
Its got a slightly slower build up of the characters and they’ve changed a few details and timing on events but so far it feels true to the original story. She goes back, becomes a stronger version of herself, uses that strength for more than just herself and passes her crappy fate to her twisted BFF and ex husband.
an 8.6?! you’ve gotta be kidding me. everything about this drama screams manhwa manhwa manhwa. i feel like i…
Given it is based on a webtoon, I appreciate they have kept some of that vibe. Its like how Whats Wrong With Secretary Kim kept that feeling. As someone who read the comic, I really like how they’ve adapted this.
Even more than WWWSK this show is filling in and expanding alot of the backstories, world and character development to feel more grounded and earned. It works really well as a drama.
Sucks its not the kind of drama thats fun for you. We all have those. Hope your next one is more fun for you.
The preview showed her explaining to him the rules of fate-it happens no matter what. You can just move it to…
Yeah I kind of like it because in the webtoon his taking on her fate or living out his own suicide fate by dying from his car accident induced coma in the web toon and getting saved by dad wasnt as clean as where I think they are taking it in the drama: his fate of dying in a car accident will get transferred to the terrible ex husband.
what do you mean "you'll still be alive in 10 years??" 😨😨 don't tell me jihyuk is sick or something
The preview showed her explaining to him the rules of fate-it happens no matter what. You can just move it to someone else. Since he died in a car accident and he is to ethical to transfer that fate to someone else, he thinks he’ll be dead in ten years.
I mean, I love this show, just anyone else, but... What is it with this stupidity of every writer, giving every…
You arent wrong its a problem in general in female protagonist stories. This show actually makes a bit more sense. He’s extremely reserved and rigid in his principles for relationships. So not obsessive ex and just the matchmaking of grandpa fits. FL does feel like a lot but really she just has one and a half love interest. The ML. Her first love is a half since she doesnt see him that way anymore. And her ex is just a villain with a unique relationship association-future deadbeat husband. He has no chance.
Soo Min will only steal if it's something precious Ji Won has. So if Ji Won dumped Min Hwan, Soo Min may not deem…
I love her desperate are they there yet face every time she catches them together or schemes to leave them alone. She so clearly wants to leave but she doesnt want some other random lady to end up married to that scum. Only the best for her bestie.
Because someone maybe even her will be forced to live out her fate. That’s what she figured out in the first two episodes. Someone will marry him and be miserable. For true vengeance she wants that person to be her evil bff.
Since episode 4 the story is losing its charm. I don't have any objections that the story differs from manhwa…
I like the pacing cause it feels like she’s rebuilding herself. The comic was super fast and it felt like just going back in time changed her personality. In this show she’s having to learn how to change and than work at it. It is a slower pace than the comic so I can see why that might annoy.
The bad ex husband dies in a car wreck of his own making. It was shocking and felt earned (he sucked) but also…
Previews of next episode showed her explaining her suppositions about how fate and transferring fate works. It also showed a moody voiceover of him saying the cute chef would be better for her. So I assume he now thinks he’ll die in 10 years due to the car accident. And since he was in his head enough not to confess to her for the years he knew her prior to her marriage just cause she was older and than had a boyfriend, Im sure thinking hes got limited time will shake him.
Her character is suppose to be very similar to how Jiwan was in her first life. Stuck with a crap husband forced to take abuse at work to survive and all in all unable to see a way out or that she deserves more.
