I know this group has combined some other short series but I don't think they have translated the first season. It would be nice if they do though since it seems the youtube account with the first season's subs is no longer active.

I think sometimes the group 'nekomeowmeow' that translates this series combines them all to one video when all episodes are out. Hopefully they will this time too.

We can't have have an explicit BL due to censorship so this is as close as it can get.
It has a season 1 and is only 3 mins per episode. I think it's worth to check it out.

It seems the youtube channel that had them is gone but someone mentioned that they found the episodes on Bilibili.

In the original series this based on (I think it has both a novel and a donghua/anime) the bandits were the bad guys and didn’t have much of a role so they needed to remove them to move on with the plot but the way they did it was quite bad!
The setting changes completely and it’s more about political and power struggle if I remember correctly (It has been a long time since I finished this so my memory is a little fussy).
I mostly enjoyed the first episodes and maybe the last one. At least is happy ending for the main couple.
Some other people in the comments seem to have enjoyed the second part too so it depends on your preferences.

Even in the series it doesn't make sense for her to marry Cheng Ling especially since her loved one Deng Kuan is alive and they were planning to marry each other. They even showed Cheng Ling wanting to refuse the marriage with her which only her father wanted.

I was wondering if the girl is also Gao Xiao Lian's and Deng Kuan's kid and has Cheng Ling as an uncle but her name was Nian Xiang which seems to be given after Gu Xiang so it might have been that Cheng Ling married someone else and had a kid or adopted one.

The end of the series seems that it needed some adjustments to pass censorship and it could also be why this epilogue is separate and not included in the end of the last episode so it might have affected some story points.

In the end of the series, it shows Gao Xiao Lian calling them to go eat and in this epilogue it also showed Deng Kuan getting his kid to go home so it could be they are all going to eat together.

I also found it confusing, but I believe she married Deng Kuan since they loved each other, and we see their child here. Her relationship with Cheng Ling in all the episodes was more like siblings or friends.

It's based on a BL Novel but due to censorship it was toned down and can be interpreted as Bromance. They did try to push the limits, but you won't find anything explicit shown like a kiss.
I would suggest to give it a try. The chemistry between them is great.

The epilogue will make more sense like this.

They didn't explicitly show what happened. You can see them running from the snow avalanche and you can assume that they died since there was no way to escape that. Also, in the end Zhang Cheng Ling says that they were forever buried under the snow.

I thought to share my opinion with you since I was also a little worried about WKX's character at first but later after learning about his past it made me understand his actions better and really feel for him.

They die in the end.

Zhao Jing was planning to betray him in the end but Scorpion King found out and betrayed him first.

I don't remember if it was made clear but it seems that Zhao Jing was the one who colluded with Ghost Valley and that was how they managed to find them.

Ghost valley killed WKX's parents but they took him in instead of killing him due to the suggestion of Luo Fumeng (Tragicomic Ghost). It seems she wanted to save him because he was only a child.
The previous Leader agreed as he took a liking to him because it seemed that he wasn't afraid of pain and wanted to raise him to see if he could become the next leader.

Also, when you enter the valley they make you drink a soup to forget your past but because his hatred was too big WKX still managed to remember some things but not everything.
You see that at some point he starts remembering more about what happened in the past.

WKX became strong and managed to become Leader. He endured all those years there because he wanted to take revenge.
