By all accounts it really seemed like he carried the drama and by far was given the most interesting character, so the appreciation makes perfect sense. I'm glad it gets better in the second half. The first half was described as just ok so many times.

How was the overall storyline? I'm thinking of watching LOTDT after finishing Dafeng.

I will definitely watch it once all the episodes air. There are some things to look forward to. It's nice to know the story gets better, because it has been described by everyone as just ok.

It seems for most people DW's is carrying the drama.

Based on the comments, DW's character is the most interesting part of the drama.

I'm actually looking forward to Deng Wei's character in this one, seeing so many interesting descriptions.

Ruthless ML sounds fun. Too bad the storyline is just ok. TBL and MM were a very good start for Xianxia dramas in 2025.

It's not the difference between Fan Yue and Chong Zhao that matters at that point, but the difference between Jing Yuan and Mo Li. Both clearly have the memories of Fan Yue and Chong Zhao, but the difference is that Jing Yuan embraces them and Mo Li rejects them. Mo Li literally locks up Chong Zhao, so he doesn't have to be influenced by any of his feelings and experiences, because they are meaningless to him.

I guess Iim not really having a problem with the modern demeanour, because he is from the modern world. Plus that drama is filled to the brim with eccentric and dramatic characters, so it doesn't stand out too much.

The pacing is indeed great so far.

The FL hasn't appeared yet, so I can't comment on the romance part.

I'm only on episode 2, but so far it definitely delivers on the light and funny. I'm liking it. What about you?
