I am not very fond of this so far, it looks like they pick popular subplots from popular dramas and put them all…
Why stop there? The SFL in Sam-soon had a subplot featuring that same disease 20 years ago. The one whose epidemiology says that the average age at diagnosis is 68.
I don't mind tropes. I do mind the repetition of shit tropes and implausible medicine.
okay, imma say it. I didn't think subs could be worse than Netflix, but Prime....what are you doing? Thank God…
Prime has always been minimum effort, minimum expense for subs. Some of the older series have hardcoded subs that they nicked from Opensubs for all I know.
At least Netflix has consistent and predictable standards for squashing the nuance.
So let me get this straight. As per the comments here. The logic is that if the ratings are high 8.8 - 9 for the…
The downward trend is regression toward the mean and is statistically inevitable.
By ep 8 both the bots who posted their 1s and the screaming fangirls who rated it a 10 five minutes into episode 1 have cast their votes and now the input of more moderate voters is driving the ratings. But the fangirls are still noisy.
As I've been trying to understand why people disagree about the chemistry, I think I'm starting to get where some…
That's a good assessment. I'm finding the chemistry between the lead actors obvious and absolutely marvellous. The relationship between the characters, though, is unstable and still lacking direction. I'm confident that the cast will deliver but I'm still waiting for the writing and directing to give them something concrete to deliver.
Yup it gets better but it definitely depends on the person watching it too. The person before me said that they…
You should take a look at Love on a Shoestring (TW). A horror show of snaps, crackles, and pops that makes you wonder why it's live action at all. 😆
is this really a funny kdrama? I loved Sweet Mobster's humor and I need another rom-com fix that would make me…
It's not nearly as "nice" as MSM and people actually have relationships and frank opinions on sex in this one, but I don't think you'll be disappointed. The dirty family secrets are about to get spilled so now is a good time to catch up.
Try getting a VPN set up (based in the US) and you should still be able to watch US Netflix. I forgot to do that…
Netflix and Amazon are getting really good at hunting and shutting down VPN addresses. Viki less so. I now use a private VPN with a machine that I left running in the States. Recommend it.
no , he got 15 yrs to serve . when he comes out then he will kill them both ........ just a joke !
Sure, we put our murderers away for a long time but our record on domestic violence is still crap. And we have not made one single drama that would make the cut on Korean TV.
Some said the romcom is not romcoming. LolSome even comparing it with NGNL where's they said that's how the romcom…
I use that phrase but I don't think I've used it on LND... yet. 😊
NGNL feels like the plot is finally starting to make sense while LND is more like it's started to fall apart. But that's the extent to which I can compare them because they are very different series and looking for the same thing in both will leave you disappointed.
Dr Romantic 1 and 2 is the Anti-House Zen Master. Same sort of character study without the asshole but lots of…
Dr Kim Sabu is the opposite of House MD. A mysterious savant who doesn't play games but sees through everyone. He makes things happen, sometimes with the cool composition of a Zen master and sometimes with a dramatic show of skill. An anti-establishment anti-hero if you like. Great character study and I rated 1 and 2 very highly but way too many surgery shots.
Hospital Playlist will help you heal the trauma from "ER." Maybe even enough to watch "Live Up to Your Name." 😊
So... Dropped. Been stuck at the beginning of episode 6 (ep.11) for over a week and can't bring myself to continue.…
Dr Romantic 1 and 2 is the Anti-House Zen Master. Same sort of character study without the asshole but lots of people bleeding on gurneys and lots of gloved hands being shoved inside people. Season 3 is high octane garbage that reminded me of Chicago Med. Someone like you will probably want to run far away from all of them.
Hospital Playlist is slice of life ensemble in a medical setting. The medicine is the most realistic and plausible I've seen—even beats "Scrubs" rather easily for realism—and does not upstage the characters. It could work for you. Very good-natured on the whole. Basically a bunch of old college buddies who try to find time to get together, reminisce, eat like animals, and jam a bit.
It's 2005 so I can look past the knuckledragging displays of privilege. But it annoys me no end that the subject of all the fat-shaming is a woman I would never think of as "fat."
I know the stated premise of this show is totally silly but it’s just a ruse, really. It quickly becomes evident…
I think that is what makes it relatable. The mind tricks that we play on ourselves in the search for the elusive ideal partner are quite bizarre. The things that we put up with and settle for out of fear are illogical. The lines that we contemplate crossing can be scary. The details that we obsess about are ridiculous. We constantly mistrust and second guess ourselves and even the smartest people rationalize absurdities.
At the core of this drama I believe there's nothing more or less than a commentary on this aspect of the human condition. That's not a bad thing and I like the mad scientist trope as a way to present it. Even if parts of the narrative can be a bit annoying I appreciate that it appears to have developed a purpose and identity that I did not expect to find in the beginning.

Always take hostages if you have demands.
Everyone has issues.
