Right? It's like a full-blown prejudice, with no real morals behind it. If his reasoning was "oh, I kill Nour because they're evil, they murder people, so I'm saving humans from predators," I could KIND OF buy it if he didn't kill people, too, but it's so much more superficial and cheaper than that o_o

It's like a dog bit him, so now he hates all dogs. Or a Frenchman almost ran him over, so now he goes around killing French tourists. Or a caucasian called his mother names, and now he thinks all caucasians are satan incarnate. Dude commits murder because he's a... speciesist, or something. He thinks he can take revenge on an entire species because THE ONE PERSON FROM THAT SPECIES HE KNEW made a really bad decision.

(and he made the same bad decision with Ji. ugh!)

If that's how his reasoning works, he should've killed himself the same freaking day!

I liked seeing how he got the scar, but got disappointed by his motive (he isn't any better than the random Nour he kills) and the lack of an explanation behind his unique powers.

Earlier I posted a comment about how much of a hypocrite Chita is, saying "they're Nour, they deserve to die" about people who are _just like him_, doing their best to survive, justifying the bad things they do, sometimes getting away with murder...

Well, this impression only got WORSE after the backstory. What do you mean he got turned by his Nour bf when he was dying and then did pretty much the same thing to Ji, who was already dead? -_- He made the same choice when he got confronted with a similar situation, but can't understand why Ji resents him for it? Doesn't he see the contradiction, is he stupid? :X

Anyway, his motive for being a Nour-hunter slash serial killer became particularly unconvincing to me after that. "Boohoo, I want revenge against a whole species because one of them turned me instead of letting me die" Come on. And how are you better than them other than because of your plot device supernatural power?? You also kill innocent people for blood, and you also made a human into a Nour for your own selfish reasons! You suck! (RIP, Tangme.)

And where is Aphit? Normal fires don't kill Nours, so unless Chita hunted him down as revenge for turning him and we just haven't been shown yet, he's still around somewhere.

Anyway, I'm glad now we know where Chita's scar came from.

I feel horrible for James, but it's clear that he has a limited understanding of what being a Nour is and of what it entails... Can't he see the torture it'd be for Ken to see him aging, getting sick, dying, and not even being able to follow? He must not be very imaginative... And having the audacity to say Ken is selfish when he's trying to force him to waste his ONLY chance at ending his existence is just tone-deaf at this point. James was selfish for at least two episodes, he can't pull an Uno reverse now!

I cried a little when Ken was imagining their future as he talked to Ji, and also when Ken and James decided to try to understand each other better and enjoy every moment they still have. It all went to hell, but they got to have a couple more happy moments before everything turned to ashes .

I don't need a "happy" ending. I'd like one, but I don't think this was ever really in the cards (as it seldom is with vampires)...

I've only watched 8, but it was pretty heavy on, well, everything. Despair, death, blood drinking and all that. Take care of yourself.

I feel horrible for Ji, too. He's a doctor, he promised to never do harm and look at him now, gulping down dead cops straight from the mouth of his lover... :(

But I feel for Chita, too, in a couple of ways. He thought having his true love with him forever was better than losing him forever, but he forgot to take Ji's nature into account... He's selfish and a hypocrite ("they were all Nour, they deserved to die" as if he isn't one as well and doesn't kill people either??), but I don't think he's "psycho" per se. Just very immature and capable of doing anything to get his way and justify it. :X

You're also right about Ken, but beware! Some commenters have been going berserk over people calling James selfish for trying to force Ken to stay alive against his will...

Yes. And yet most people in the comments will throw a fit if you say James is being selfish (he'll die in 30-40 years and then what? Ken has to keep living for millennia, feeding on people, moving from town to town, changing his name, being alone? miss me with that life), and have been doing so for over a week. @_@

I legit saw at least 10 different commenters being all 'how is james selfish noooo they just need to be together until he dies" and like, ugh. I can almost hear them coming to reply to you right now.

It's the same people who are deadly against a sad ending and only see Chita as a monster who needs to die RN since their nonsensical evil twin theories were shot down. He's a hypocrite and a murderer with a really stupid motive, yes, but it's more complicated than just "he evil, he mkill, pew pew"... Ironically, they're kinda like Ken in a way - they're only capable of seeing in black and white. :P

I thought it was perfect. Ken wouldn't let James just take away his only shot at dying after 200+ years of trying.

Yup, they get hungry when they smell blood and lose control. It's been shown since the second episode.
