Why is this so highly rated? The female lead is incompetent in everything she does. Splash that incompetency with a large dash of self centredness and passiveness and you get a very annoying character. The male lead is also unlikeable, but he is just a straight up rude obnoxious arsehole.

I dropped after watching episode 8. I was watching this, but I am dropping it, because, It seems like it is dragging…
Chinese/Taiwanese/Thai Dramas have this weird obsession with pairing up siblings who grow up together as siblings but are not biologically related (well the Thais don't always care if the siblings are biologically related or not)

Title King Flower Spoiler
No one explain to you after two years lol ahah
Basic plot is the wife of a wealthy CEO dies, but because his wife's family was a major stockholder, he gets the FL to undergo plastic surgery so she could look like & impersonate his wife (this is not quite as cold hearted as it seems because he loved his wife). That is the plot, the rest is just shenanigans.

As for the ending, basically the [foster] brother was the Male Lead (which is why he is shoved down our throat so much), but half way through they realised the SML (the CEO) had more chemistry with the female lead so they tried to transition to him as the male lead. So at the end, the Female lead leaves on a plane [to show she is a big girl now], and the CEO joins her [to show he will follow the female lead where-ever she goes].

Basically this would have been a much stronger drama if it was originally written with the CEO as the male romantic lead, but because they spend so much time trying to set up the icky incest pairing it can be frustrating.

I actually quite like this Drama. But I do think the ML gaslit the FL into thinking she was in love with him.
For me, this drama is made by the female Lead (and her actress). There is a lot I do not like about the ML, but all that is outweighed by what I do like about the female lead. Sure she is a bit uncomplicated, but the way she worried about things in her inner voice really made her a real person I could relate to. In fact imo all the female characters in the drama came across a bit more real than the male characters.

Could you spoil me if her best friend will betray her? It sure looks like she will, hope I am wrong.
I am up to episode 9, When does the Female Lead become likeable? So far she can't seem to take no for an answer from her ex. She seems well on her way to becoming a bunny boiler.

Title To Be with You Spoiler
Up to Episode 6 and so far no one is really likeable. And everyone bloody lies purely for the sake of lying.
And it is seriously hard to take the FL's clinginess [after she was dumped] seriously, considering she had been away from her boyfriend for 3 years in France. Get over it girl. Seriously how many times does he have to tell you no. He tried to break up in a polite way at first, and now you are getting hurt because each time you try to cling to him he gets harsher with his words. Stop boiling bunnies girl.

And after all this clinginess I bet the FL goes for Noble Idiocy later on. sigh

ok, i really do not get this so i am just going to write it off as a cultural issue due to not being Chinese. The way the male lead moves into a house then turns the three previous inhabitants into servants, who even have to throw away their own personal belongings on his say so & wear what he tells them to wear ..., I will just take as one of those weird sexist, classist Chinese cultural traits alongside forcing girls to be maids of boys in High School.

I really want to carry on watching, but i feel the FML's acting isn't at that level and it feels like there is…
Do you think the male lead's acting is better? sigh for some reason it is always the females that are bad actors according to the people on this site.

If you're stuck in a loop where you repeatedly witness someone die and seemingly, the only way to get out of it…
Yep, the Female Leads arc was entirely reasonable. The Time Loops were basically prisons. the only way for her to escape from prison was to help the male lead. Over time, this becomes a habit and she gets to understand him a bit more. I think she had a great story arc.

Would have been perfect without the male lead and the main romance. But here they are, the typical korean sexism…
You can even see the sexism in the way they give the sister the least important ability.

Way Way too many flashbacks. It makes it a confusing watch at times. Especially since the flashbacks range from 5 seconds long to a few minutes long. Absolutely terrible way of telling a story.
And as someone else mentioned, a lot of the stuff here would not be out of place in a Thai Lakorn what with sexual assault and harrasment being considered "seduction techniques"

The mother is another in the long line of rude obnoxious Korean mothers, the brother is another in the long line of lazy 30+ year old korean neets who leech off their family whist "studying".

Probably because the male lead is all kinds of icky. Seriously in the first episode he breaks into someones house, steals their food and takes a shower.

Why? What happened? Is there a secondary couple?
To be honest, it is only worth watching if you have nothing else to watch. If you want to watch a cute romance dealing with mental illness, the korean drama "Kill Me, Heal Me", or it's Chinese remake "Seven of Me" are much better.

Why? What happened? Is there a secondary couple?
The romance between the leads is pretty cute, and most of the side characters are pretty cool (even the male lead's ex girlfriend). The male lead's sister's actions sort of get a pass because she does suffer from mental illness, But the 2ML is pretty despicable. Especially when the he tries to get with the female lead despite him previously sleeping with her sister and driving her to suicide. It really ruins the drama that everyone treats him as a friend at the end.

I do not know if you have seen it in the four months since you posted, but Woo Il (2ML who got her drunk and then slept with her despite knowing she liked the male lead) and Yi Soo (male leads sister who told her she will kill herself if the secretary does not go away) were the two that pushed her to kill herself and they skate by with absolutely no repercussions or censure from anyone, not even from the female lead, whose entire motivation was to find those responsible for pushing her sister to kill herself. It was a really icky ending and to be honest explains why suicide is so prevalent in Korea.

I'm still watching this show, but the thing that really bothers me, more than the female lead, is the fact that…
He has a very weird form of social anxiety where it comes across as him constantly trying to draw attention to himself. As someone who has severe social anxiety, his way of dressing is basically shouting "look at me, here I am". Then the show tries to push the dodgy narrative "that publicly speaking to an audience" is the cure for social anxiety.
