Season 2 was a let down and it strayed heavily from the webtoon's plot. The 1st season was very close to the webtoon…
Simba's character was already tedious, selfish and unlikable in the first season. Not sure how this season could be considered "ruining" him since he remained tedious, selfish & unlikeable.
I like the main actress. I like everything I have seen her in. BUT I do not like Vampire Romance movies. I really do not like them. So it took me a while to decide to give this a chance.Surprisingly I am enjoying this. It is very light and fluffy, and as usual the FL is adorable. Even the villains are not too aggravating, though the Vampire best friend is very tedious. It is always great when your pessimism turns out to be wrong.
Though the last two episodes get weird all of a sudden as people get dumb and/or schizophrenic.
Also....8 freaking point 4......are you kidding me !!!! Overrated to herculean proportion......sheesh !
A romcom with a romance without any angsty love triangles or noble idiocy tends to get higher ratings than the story warrants, BUT that is ok, because the rating here is more often than not a subjective rating than an objective one. Objectively I would give this a high 6 rating, subjectively I would give this a high 7 rating.
I think the synopsis (and the Arranged Marriage tag) in general is misleading. First there is no actual marriage until the last 10 minutes of the last episode (and even then it happens off screen and seems to have been a registration office marriage lol). And the childhood betrothal pretty much served absolutely no purpose. If they took it out and just had them met without the betrothal, nothing in the story would have changed. Even every scene would have stayed the same, except for a few lines of dialogue.
I enjoyed the 2 lead actors and their romance but the writing was very bland and often choppy. The 2nd couple were also enjoyable. The third couple was just a bit icky for me since you got the impression the sister was 15-16 (she certainly had the maturity of a 15 year old) so pairing her up with the 3ML did not really work for me. I was never sure if the 2FL (the manager) was incompetent at her job, trying to keep the FL: away from the ML or if it was just sloppy writing. By the end it turns out it was just sloppy writing. And finally sooooo many flashbacks to scenes in earlier episodes does get annoying.
Overall, I still enjoyed my time with the show. Objectively I would give it a rating of 6.5, subjectively I would give it a rating of 7.8.
Not trying to offend you but I think she is one of the best actress. She acted immaturely because that is how…
um no it is not. I have no problem with you having a criticism about her. Everyone is entitled to like or dislike something. All I am doing is correcting you on a misunderstanding you seem to have. The thing is Chinese Drama dub ALL the voices with separate voice actors. They want them to all speak with the exact same Beijing accent, so in over 90% of Chinese Dramas the actor playing the role, and the person speaking the dialogue are NOT the same person. If you do not like her (or an aspect about her) that is perfectly fair enough, but if you are disliking her for any sounds she makes, you are not actually hearing any sounds she makes.
The exception to this strange dubbing practice China has; is big budget movies, or Hong Kong Stuff. These you will generally hear real voices of the actors/actresses. (Taiwan also uses real voices)
If there's one thing I hate in Asian dramas its villain redemption arcs. That aside the drama was really good,…
Every drama on here will have someone complaining about the FL's acting. It is often a side affect of the female audience getting jealous and upset that the FL is appearing opposite their crush.
Not trying to offend you but I think she is one of the best actress. She acted immaturely because that is how…
Is she actually speaking? In Chinese Drama they dub over the actors/actresses with voice actors which is why Cdramas always seem dubbed. Because they are. So if your complain is her voice, chances are you are not actually hearing her voice
Yes.... But i like perfect and casual better ?....
Though I think the main couple (and their romance) in P&C was slightly better than the main couple in BTimFL (mainly because the FL went silly in the last couple of episodes of BTimFL); the supporting cast in BTimFL were much much better than in P&C.
The two supporting couples (and their romance) in "Because This is My First Life" were much much better than the supporting couples in P&C, especially Yiyi & Linnan. The ex girlfriend in BTimFL was also a lot better than the wannabe girlfriend in P&C
Finished watching. Wow!!!! beautiful ending. I loved it. Thanks to Carmon we had subs. thank you so much. I loved…
I actually did not like Linno, but then he is a character trope I tend to really dislike in dramas. And I actually really did not like the gaslighting lawyer. But yes, I loved the ML & FL despite a bad first impression of both in the first episode. I loved their romance.
I liked Yunlan and Luyu and liked the idea of them getting together; I just think how they got together and their romance was poorly implemented. YiYi was great, but since I really did not like Linno, her romance left me cold.
Finally a marriage contract genre without misunderstanding and divorce problem and the contract being discovered…
I am not sure I understand how the Marriage contract works here. They seem to constantly switch between keeping the marriage contract secret, to telling everyone about it, to keeping the marriage itself secret. I have absolutely no idea why the marriage had to be kept secret from the FL's co-workers. And to be honest, not sure why the ML is telling all his acquaintances (not friends but acquaintances) about the contract.
This deserves higher ratings. I'm on episode 8 and I am enjoying it so much. I should be doing my assignments…
I have just finished episode 2 and I have a question. Does either the Male Lead or the Female Lead actually become anywhere close to likeable? If so, which episode?
Personally, I think It's terrible. I have watched over 250 dramas. Seriously, There are way better dramas out…
Well, I have only watched around 200 dramas (Korean/Chinese/Taiwanese/Thai/Japanese) and though I agree that there are a lot better dramas out there, there is also a lot that are way worst, I fervently disagree that this is terrible. It is a cute middle of the road romcom and though a 7.7 rating (as it currently has) is probably a tad too high, I would still give it a 7.5.
You're totally wrong. When you're in a relationship, be it romantic or friendship, you should care about your…
Well said. I actually really like Jinan (and the actress who played her) and perfectly understood why she had a deep mistrust of the male lead. So I have been annoyed by those constantly critisizing her for not completely trusting a guy who when they were kids would metaphorically be giving her an ice cream with one hand whilst pulling her hair with the other.
I enjoyed this drama. Sure, there were so flaws here and there, but I think what really bothered me the most was…
I am usually some who is put off by actresses who are too skinny, because they often look unhealthy. And I certainly noticed Serena's skinnyness, BUT I never really got the impression her weight was unhealthy, mainly I guess because her face does not show the gauntness that accompanies someone who often has an unhealthy weight. In fact her face is quite round. And there is people who are just naturally skinny. So I tend to think she is fine.
Now if you want to look at someone who has an unhealthy looking weight, just look at her co-star Ming Ren. But no-one is commenting on his weight. He is also abnormally skinny, but his face also has a gauntness to it that gives an impression that it is an unhealthy skinnyness. But since he is male it seems it is acceptable to look that way I guess.
How does the webtoon go? Is there any love traingle or breakup?
The kid is definitely not obnoxious in a normal kid sort of way. He was obnoxious in a full on spoiled entitled brat sort of way. Normal kids do not grab and smash their neighbours phone just because that neighbour did not pay them enough attention. Especially when they only met that neighbour 2 days ago.
I have just finished the third episode and thankfully he did not appear. I absolutely adore the two mains.

I am now watching "Perfect & Casual", another romance with an adorable couple.
