WOW this is such a riveting show! All my fav Kdrama genres in one! Ghost Supernatural Comedy and Korean Period!…
Riiiight!I love those genres too!! I want Yeo Ri and Gang Cheol to travel around the country banishing spirits after this season!! Like those two could be a band of travellers with Gang Chrol's mom nagging him to take his meds and become a dad already. I can see her feeding him "child making drugs" :P
Could someone recommend me romance dramas that are rated lower than 8.0 on this site, because I've already watched…
Here are a few more: Starting from 8 and going lower
Doctors Hotel Del Luna King2Hearts Kiss Sixth Sense Military Prosecutor Doberman Undercover High School Qing Qing Zi Jin Royal Rumours Cinderella and the Four Knights Faith The King's Affection What's Wrong with Secretary Kim Flourished Peony You Are My Hero Radio Romance The Forbidden Marriage The Undateables King the Land Personal Taste
I have so many more I could recommend since I only watch dramas with some hint of romance at the very least.
Oooooof the pace of this show is keeping me on my toes. I returned to the supernatural genre of Kdramas after a drought of almost 1 year and this show has been a good comeback show. Elements of culture woven through with mythology and horror. Fun stuff. I am liking the chemistry between our leads, they keep things from getting too serious, even though the situation is as serious as it gets. The whole cast has done a great job so far and though the story seems to have moved to a parallel track from where it started, its still a fun train ride. I am waiting for the second half, but I am hoping we can get back to our plot line because it is starting to drag a little, I thought this wasn't going to be a lot of palace politics but its beginning to revolve around it more than the supernatural, horror genre.
I have to rave about Kim Jo Hoon as the king. I have only seen him as the suave Do Won Joon in Love To Hate You (one of my top faves) and I could never have imagined such a nuanced and powerful performance from him. Serves me right. He has given me sooooo much acting chops scene upon scene. His tortured father seeing his child in pain in the first few episodes was amazing. Added to that, his performance as the all powerful king who is forced to stand by and watch helplessly as his child suffers unimaginable horrors was so riveting, I could feel the anger and frustration, the sheer helplessness of this mighty king as he struggled to find a cure. Will rave some more at the end of the show when I write a review but so far, kudos!
Overall, this show has done a great job of engaging my attention and keeping it so far!
Agree...You are so spot on!......and Isn't she just lovely!?....her unconventional solutions to some pressing…
Absolutely agree! I replayed those scenes so many times, just for the comedy factor and the chemistry.....and him getting all hot and bothered because of the king who he thought was a man...... until he sees her dressed as a female and hanging the clothes to dry he finally gets it and says "Fortunately she's a woman!" I read that as "Thank God she's a women so now my wet dreams make sense!!" LOL

Absolutely! Every time there is a problem placed before her, I think OMG she is going to have to cave in and let the injustice happen because she will have to look at the bigger picture.........but she bounces back with a clever and well thought out plan. And I love that the series showed the ML is a very human way, he made a mistake because yes he is human and scared (who wouldn't be) of the cruel man who raised him and abandoned her at a crucial time, then realizes she isn't one of those clingy women who need men to fix their problems, she can fix her own problems, she just wants his quiet support emotionally. And YAAAAAAS the greenest flag............ he apologized!!! And asked for a second chance. I can't even. Even men in real life have a problem doing that....never mind men in dramaland!
Fancy running into you here Heather.........all of us seeking refuge after dramacool evaporated!! :D
Yep!! I can't even count the number of dramas that I've watched on Kisskh and thought it would be so good if DC still worked, just because I want to have great discussions about this drama or this scene...... or discuss the scorching ...ahem....scene that just happened and now I can't wipe it off my eyeballs.........
This is a rare gem for me. I came into it thinking the story line sounds pretty much par for the course, revenge, hidden identity, eunuch vs. royalty blah blah.......... but my cynical self is really surprised at how much I am enjoying this drama. For a short drama, they have done an amazing job. The plot is a lot more intricate than expected from a short drama, with actual problems and cunning solutions that require creative thinking and not just moral high ground. The characters are detailed, there is massive development on both the leads' parts and the chemistry is oh so good! That bite.......
I have currently stopped myself at episode 17 (yes its torture) because I want to binge the rest in one go and until all the remaining episodes are released and subbed, I am firmly staying at 17.
